August 2007 bandsters

Hey all,

Had my band done 15 Aug. Had 8 holes in the stomach walls replaced at the same time so sore still. Off my Metformin (no sugar in Diet). So bloos sugars stays in the 90 to 100 range. Bad bruising on left side of waist large and purple pehaps the port area but no real pain does burn when I get up and down. No problem with the liquid diet the protein bullets working for me so far. Hopfully everybody is doi9n well. Was it worth it ?? So far yes..

I am so excited that being on the low carb diet for about a month and a half I have lost 17 lbs. Resulting in being able to fit into my size 18 pants(from a size 20). I will be banded on the 30th and am looking forward to the lifestyle change.:whoo:

Vallin,

Congrats on your weight loss!!!! I myself will be banded this Friday, Aug 24th so I am pretty pumped!! How much did you lose during preop and how much have you lost since you have been banded?

What are Protein bullets and where did you buy them?

Princesst

I lost about 4 pounds preop and 14 since surgery.. Protein bullets is after you are on liquids and drinking protien your bowl movements are different, I also followed the preop pretty strict. Good luck on your surgery, the first 48 hrs are the toughest but it will get better.

I am so thrilled to have found this Thread......I was banded on 8~17~07 in Monterrey Mexico by Dr. Zapata.....It hasn't even been a week yet.... I am so excited, I was looking for people to share this experience with, some people that were banded around the same time as me...I found them LOL.....My starting weight was 253 and my goal weight is 159....I am going to weigh myself once a week and measure myself once a month.......need some help on deciding the best tasting protein drinks........

heavensgiggles---congrats on getting your band. I will get mine on the 27th of August. As far as the protein drinks are concerned; I hate them. I drink them only because I must. I have found that if you put a drop of vanilla extract, almond extract, or even raspberry(in the chocolate), that makes it some better.

heavensgiggles ,, CONGRATS AND WELCOME TO THE BAND SIDE OF THINGS:clap2:

try EAS advant edge carb control fudge, I have to hide them from my 3 year old,, I like them,, How was Mexico and how are you feeling?:ranger:

I was banded 8/15/07. Still experiencing some pain, however overall I doing pretty good. I did the preop diet for 1 week, and since the then I have lost 17 pounds, so I am happy. Is it worth it? Only time will tell. The best protein drink?? Strawberry Sorbet by unjury. Welcome to the UNJURY Homepage. I love it and I am very picky about everything!! It is not thick, and actually tastes like fruit punch and has the consistancy too. :) Good job everyone on their weight loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was banded Aug 16, 2007 by Dr. Adam Smith. So far, so good, but am ready to get something in me other than full/pureed liquids!!! Still a little sore at the port incision...especially if I am going alot all day, but feel great otherwise. All the swelling I was having in my feet daily is down to nothing!!! It's been great and not hard to follow at all. I am scheduled for my first fill on Sept 21st!:)

I was banded this past monday, August 20th, still very sore, but not as much gas pain today. Glad to be in bandland!! Not sure if i'm getting enough liquids in, as 2 ounces fills me up for an hour.. Trying though! The tylenol with codeine I was taking for pain was starting to give me breathing problems a little, so I'm just taking regular tylenol blast now. Congrats to all of us august bandsters on starting our journey!

I was banded August 6th so it's been about 3 and a half weeks and im down 20 lbs :-)

not terribly impressive but I'm still proud and I can't wait to get my first fill!

Thanks for all the info!!!! I weighed in today being my first weigh in and i lost 16 pounds!!! I am so excited!!! I cant believe it!! I stood back on it like 2 more time lol.........S~253 C~238 G~159............Good luck to everyone!!
