If you have the AP lapband please respond
According to my Dr I now have 9 in my band. I have done well with the weight lose but Im concerned that even now I have no problems with eating anything. I do get full with just 1/2 cup and have been staying full for a couple of hours but I just want to feel it (the food) slowing going down so that I will know that I have restriction. Im about to run out of fill room. Im glad that Im this close to my goal but I worry about how will I stay there if I dont have good restriction.

HELLO restriction!
I think I may also have good restriction now.:whoo: I got my 3rd fill on the 3rd which took me up to 9 in a VG band. I thought it was only 8 but thats another story. I have been on liquids for the last 2 days and I also can feel the difference and need to sip now instead of drink. I can feel the water bubble down and it gives me a burping sensation. Im going to try soft foods today to see how that goes. I so hope that this is it because Im starting to run out of room. I can only get 2 more in my band. I seen a new dr this time (part of long story) and he didnt want to feel me that much because he thought I would have problems but so far so good. I know its bad but to some extinct I wish I would pb or slime, at least I would know that I have restriction.

A question regarding bread
I woke up yesterday knowing that I was going to treat myself to a slice of pizza. It wasnt as good as I thought it was going to be and to my horror it went down with no problems. I was really hoping that it got stuck. I go for my 3rd fill on the 3rd and Im hoping that he fills me up. Now that my brain knows that it will go down, I can imagine the things its telling my stomach to eat. :omg:

Anyone with United Healthcare get LB?
I have UHC and had surgery on May 30. My experience is posted in the insurance section if you feel like reading. Now after all of that happened UHC is now trying to back track and claim that the Dr never got preapproval and they are claiming that they arent going to pay for the surgery now. The Dr office keeps telling me not to worry about it because they no that all of the paper work was done before hand and that this is just the insurance companies way of stalling before having to pay a large bill but I cant help but to worry because I did sign a paper that said if for some reason my insurance doesnt pay that I will. I guess they are appealing but I havent heard anything else. I do check the myuhc website and the bill still isnt paid. :angry

what does sweet spot feel like????
shoregirl: Im worried now, I have 6 in my VGB. I go for a fill on Oct 3 and was hoping to move up to 8 and was thinking that this must be the spot since there isnt much left to go. Im doing ok on the weight loss, but like you can eat what ever I want, I have just been chosing not to do so. I know its not the ideal situation but I would like to Pb or slime just once so that way I know that there is restriction.

Weight / Scales / HELP!
I wasted money on buying a Homedics 520 health station (what ever). The darn thing cost almost 50 bucks and is not realiable. If I step on and off of it 3x I will get a different answer each time. It really makes me mad because I wanted a digital scale so that I could see even the ounces lost but it doesnt work. Im embaressed to do so but I think Im going to take it back. I know the store is going to think Im crazy but it was a waste of money. :car:

If You're Happy And You Know It, Raise Your Hand!
I LOVE MY BAND MORE THAN WORDS CAN EXPLAIN :whoo:

peaches9: I love Barix also. Its like a miniture hospital so you get extra attention that you wouldnt have gotten if the surgery was done in a regular hospital. I did have insurance so all I had to pay was my yearly deductible which was 1000 and from what I have seen from my eobs they billed the insurance somewhere close to 30,000. For some reason its alot more than if you were self pay. My sister inlaw just had rny done by the same dr so Im interested in seeing what they will bill her insurance company.

GR8: My dr will only fill every 6 weeks dont know if it is a insurance thing or what. I have had 2 fills so far and have told him that it is mostly willpower that Im going on. Im just staying positive because I know that one day I will get to my sweetspot and than it should be smooth sailing. Im more impressed with your weight loss:) ja9va: That gives me hope. Maybe oneday I will wake up and have restriction. I do get full easy and sometimes can feel things going down but nothing has gotten stuck. Maybe what I feel is restriction and I just dont know it.

Numbness of tougue...
I just looked this up yesterday on the internet because my tongue is also numb. I just started to notice and I have been banded for over 3 months. On the net, the closest answer I could come up with is that it has something to do with being anemia so I thought that was the answer because I was told to take iron and havent so I thought this was just a sign that I better get my iron pills. But now that you mention the same thing maybe it is band related?

ja9va: I have tried the same thing with experimenting with food and as crazy as it sounds I have been hoping to get stuck so that I would know that I do have some restriction. I have taken bigger bites of chicken breast and not chewed it well just to see what would happen and noting. Maybe just a little discomfort in my chest but nothing that would indicate restriction. I currently have 6 in my band and go for another fill in about 3 weeks. So far Im very happy with my weight loss but its just a little scary because I know that if I wanted to I would beable to eat a lot more than what I do.

Sweet spot level for Vangaurd 11 Band
Could someone please tell me what this cough is all about. I have noticed that I cough alot when Im eating. At first I thought I just had a cold because I always have problems with my sinus, but now I realize that it is during eating that most of the coughing is taking place. Is this a sign of fullness or not chewing well enough?

Countdown to Onederland!
Im there. I weighed this morning at 197.8so Im claiming this weight. Actually I was at 199.8 on saturday but that was too close so I decided to wait just in case my body decided to change its mind. Now my next goal is 180. I hope to get there by xmas which seems really doable as long as I dont plateau. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

Sweet spot level for Vangaurd 11 Band
I have 6 right now and could probably eat anything I wanted, but luckly I dont. I have experimented and purposely swallowed bigger pieces of meat without chewing much just to see what would happen. I didnt get stuck or slim, nothing at all so I know that until I get to my sweet spot that Im going to have to have the will power to do right. The thing I dont get is that Im not really that hungry so Im a little confused as to if this is maybe my sweet spot but Im just not going to have any problems with eating anything. Too me being at my sweet spot would mean that if Im not carefull things would get stuck. Is this not correct thinking? :help:
-
Bulky vs. Dense
I dont know the answer to that, but I was going to ask a question about why does something like cottage cheese make me feel fuller than a serving of meat. I would think of cottage cheese as being bulky and meat as being dense. Anyone else out there have any opinion?

How long is the port site tender after surgery?
Im 3 months out and somedays my port is tender, especially when I wake up in the morning if in my sleep I have been laying on it. It also gets tender some days when Im at work because for some reason I sit hunched over in my chair in front of the computer. It doesnt really bother me though and I just correct my posture and it gets better.

Countdown to Onederland!
200.2 this morning. Im almost there. I think I will be extra good today and the next couple of days. My goal is to be in onederland by sep 1. Im sure now Im going to make it.

How often do you weigh yourself?
Every day sometimes more than once a day.
-
What's the last thing you said to your surgeon just before your LB procedure?!
The last thing I remember saying or doing was when they were about to give me the medicine to make me go to sleep in my iv, I asked how long would it take to make me go to sleep. The nurse told me about 30 seconds. I responded yea right. About 20 seconds later, I remember cranking up laughing because sure enough I was started to feel silly. Than I think I remember them wrapping warm towels around my arms?

For those of us who weigh in daily!!
Not only do I weigh myself everyday, sometimes more than once a day, I use two different scales, one dial and the other digital just in case the first scale which I step on the digital one first is lying to me. I think Im going to go crazy with this scale thing. :help:
-
Countdown to Onederland!
This morning the scales moved ( I have 2 that I weigh on one digital the other dial.) The digital scale has me at 203.2 the dial about 203. Im so happy but a little unsure. Here is the thing. I got my second fill on Monday so I had to do a day of clear and than a day on full liquids. So Im thinking that I may have lost water due to 2 days of not eating. But the twist is that I also started TOM this morning so I was expecting to have been up a little instead of down. Not sure what to think now. Im going to have my boyfriend hide both scales until Monday and than try again. But for right now Im claiming my 203.2:clap2:

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
I got my second fill today and now I have 6 in my band. Looking at the poll it seems that this may be a good point of restriction. Im hoping so. Guess I really wont know for a couple of days since I have to do clear for 24 than full for 24 before going back to solids. I hope this is better than where I was with 4 because while eating dinner Sunday night I realized that if I wanted to I could have eaten a lot more than what I did. Thats a scary feeling.
