  1. No I dont trust my scales and that is plural. I use two different scales just to make sure the first one is right and right now both are making me mad. On scale has me less than what I know Im at. Generally that would be good, but it is causing me to be more careless with my choices than what I would be if it was correct or at least weighing me more than I am. The other scale is less than the scale at the gym but probably close to the one at the Drs office. So that make 4 different scales and I dont know what one to believe. My poor boyfriend has even become a part of my obsession with the scales because I make him weigh himself to see if they weigh him correct.
  2. This is exactly my situation. Im more than convinced now that there is something to this. Im going to try to ask the Dr if he has heard anything about it, but Im sure I will just get the blank stare that he has been giving me. The thing is, he is not the great Dr that did my surgery. He left the practice and his patients wasnt made aware of where he went, I guess in fear that they would follow, which I would. But anyway, I was just talking to my mom about how I feel that my band has worked more because I have had the willpower to make it and Im afraid that Im going to lose that willpower and start gaining weight. I made her promise that if she starts to notice me gaining that she would tell me this time and not allow me to get to the way I was.
  3. Im going to go back to school to get my MBA. I figure that I have plenty of time now to study.
  4. This is very interesting. I have 10cc in my band which is only suppose to hold 11 and I can also eat anything and have never pb'b or slimed. I have been trying to talk the Dr into giving me a fill under floro to see if there is a problem. I get the feeling that he thinks Im crazy because Im losing the weight good but I have tried to tell him that Im losing because Im doing what Im suppose to and not because my band is keeping me from eating things or amounts that I shouldnt. Dont get me wrong the band does help me control the amount that it takes for me to be satisfied, but I want it to really let me know that its there. Just the other day I was eating a tuna kit for lunch and was thinking that if maybe I didnt use the mayo packet that it would stay in my pouch longer or at least be a little more of a challenge to eat, especially the crackers. Im going to search the net to see if I can find anything on excessive saliva. This may be tmi but now that I think about it, my kids always laugh at me when I talk because they always say that I spit when I talk. This is something to look into.
  5. So if you eat more than the amount recommended, will you risk stretching your pouch? I try to stick to 1/2 cup or 4oz and sometimes it just doesnt feel like it was enough.
  6. Im happy to know that Im not the only one. Sometimes I think people are going to think that I think Im prissy now that I have lost weight.
  7. I had my first episode with vertigo about a year ago and hope it never returns.
  8. Santa is going to bring me one for christmas. I cant wait. :clap2:
  9. I have lost more than what I ever dreamed possible. The weight is slowing down now, but I cant complain. :whoo:
  10. Thanks that makes me feel better. I was so worried and upset about it last night that I ate a whole slice of pizza and than ended up having a nightmere that my band had slipped. I know this sounds crazy but I ate the slice of pizza because I was trying to prove to myself that I did have more restriction than I thought I had. I kept eating it hoping that at any moment now I was going to start to slime or pb. Two things I have never experienced. Than I guess from the guilt of eating, I had a nightmere that my band had slipped. :cry
  11. I know what you mean. I was inspecting my hips in the mirror the other day and was thinking about how fat they were. If I had been so critical of myself before I wouldnt have needed this surgery.
  12. How much does your band hold? Is the max 11. I currently have 10 cc and I do have some restriction but not as much as I would like and I dont think its going to get much better with just 1cc left to go. My Dr doesnt seem to believe me and though I have asked for a fill under fluro they keep saying only if there is a problem. Well to me this is a problem because I have to rely to much on will power. I have been doing good with it so far but I doubt I can keep it up for life. :help:
  13. 1. I can tie my shoes without losing my breath. 2. My eyes don't shut when I smile. 3. My big hips have less bruises. 4. I can see my feet. 5. I can see my cheek bones. 6. I can walk much further without getting tired. 7. I can cross my legs.
  14. I was afraid to and than I started to think that if my number was up it was going to be up regardless to if I was or was not having surgery that day. Im not getting into any religious stuff but I do believe that if its your time its your time. So what Im trying to say is dont miss out on one of the best things to happen to you in your life, only to realize that it wasnt your time and now you have missed your surgery.
  15. This has been such an amazing experience, that sometimes I have a hard time really believing it. I cant believe that I have really lost this weight. My brother said that I look like the old me. I just pray that it continues and I dont get comfortable and start to put the weight back on. Than I remember that I wont because this time my band has my back. I LOVE MY BAND :bounce:
  16. I have had 3 fills so far and go for my 4th Monday and have not paid anything not even the office visit. I think it was all billed to the insurance company as part of the surgery. If I remember correctly I can get the fills for a year. Im going to remember to ask about it but I hope that by time my year is up I will be at my goal and sweet spot so that i wont need to go to often.
  17. After starting this post I still struggled with the ideal of joining the gym for various reasons, mainly the fact that I was just being lazy. But now I am happy to report that I have joined and Im loving it. So Im also changeing my vote. :whoo:
  18. Thanks. I have been using fitday and now after checking this site I can just kick myself in the butt. Most of the things I put on fitday I had to get the info from either another site or drag all the empty wrappers and stuff in front of the computer to log. With this web site so far everthing that I have eaten I have been able to find. I also love how it keeps track of the calories based on how much weight you want to lose. Now I see why I have not lost in the last week.
  19. I went to the one in Groveport Ohio and loved it and still do. I agree that it did seem as if it took them too long to get my surgery scheduled, but now that its done I realized that it wasnt that long at all. From consult to the day of my surgery it was almost 3 months to the day. I think in the beginning I was just inpatient.
  20. I have lost mine also and I love it. Cant wait until summer so that I can wear a tank top still with a bra of course but at first I wouldnt have dared leave the house in a tank top. The funny thing is my bra size hasnt changed much either though they are smaller.
  21. The fear of failure and giving someone the pleasure of being able to talk about how I had this surgery and still didnt lose weight. I know I shouldnt really care what other people think, but I do.
  22. I think you would end up never eating, which wouldnt be a good thing.
  23. I have 9cc in my 10 band and feel like I could eat a lot more than I do. I just measure everything before I begin and stop once its all gone. The good thing is that once I stop I do feel satisfied. I havent had any problems with any foods and Im starting to get afraid that Im going to run out of room before I reach the elusive sweet spot.
  24. No this hasnt happen but I wouldnt mind if it did. Just to let me know the band is still there and doing its job.
  25. I use to sleep on my stomach but now try not to because my port area is sore if I do so. I mentioned this to the Dr to get his opinion as to whether or not I was doing any damage and all he said was to try and stay off of it. Well I would if I could control what Im doing in my sleep. This is a new Dr because for reasons the Dr who did my surgery is no longer with the practice, so his response upsetted me a little because I know the other Dr would have have taken my concerns a little more serious.
