  1. I've been banded 2 years and recently had a 20+ lb weight gain after being within 40lbs of goal. So here I am, 60 to loose again. I went in for a long over-due fill 2 weeks ago. My fills have always gone smoothly, and I only once had to get an unfill as I wasn't able to get liquids down. I am not one of those quirky people who doesn't feel the affect of the fill till a week later, etc. Sunday night I was stupid and ate 2 fish tacos with really spicy salsa. Took me over an hour, but I got them down. Ever since I've been having coughing fits at night, having a hard time even with liquids, although I get them down. It's different then when I was too tight, it's a constant dull pain that is really annoying. Does this sound like slippage? I've been doing liquids the past 2 days to play it safe. If i'm not better I'll call my doc tomorrow. Just wanted to see if anyone who has slipped had any of these symptoms?
  2. Hello! I am 27, was banded in January of 08 and have lost about 100lbs. My husband and I decided we were ready to start our family, and have obviously gone through the recomended year after surgery to do so. I have struggled with PCOS my entire adult life, and haven't been on BC for the past 3 months (no periods either) so my doc prescribed Provera to "kick start" menstration, then followed with 50mg of Clomid for days 5-9 of my cycle. Anyone else gotten prego with this regiment? What can I expect? We are super anxious to have a baby! Any thoughts or wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  3. I'm 5'9" and I have said all along I wanted to be 150. After all, that's within a healthy BMI range, right? OK well I think that is BS! At my lowest weight ever (in high school) I was 168 and my friends thought I looked too skinny. I'm a curvy woman and I will never be able to be a stick. It's just not how I'm built! So here's to embracing my curves! My new goal is 170.
  4. Thanks doc and Jachut! I have very small breasts, have my entire life. I'm about a 38 B, SMALL C right now, and that is shrinking by the week! I highly doubt if I will need a lift as they have always been pretty "perky". LOL I will slow my roll here and wait till I am closer to goal. Besides, after the vacation time I took for my lapband I will need at least another 6 months to go under the knife again! Thanks again for your help.
  5. I am interested in getting my breasts augmented, but I am about 90ish lbs from goal. I had surgery Jan. 31, 2008 and have been steadily losing since. Right now I am down about 60lbs. Probably being a little anxious and premature, but I wanted to go in and consult a plastic surgeon already. I am curious if it would be wise to have this surgery so far before goal? I have heard DO get it done before you lose all your weight, but I have also heard, DO NOT so far before goal. Anyone with experience in this department?
  6. Ignore my prior post and thinking I might WANT to be over-restricted! After a night of misery, not even being able to keep water down I broke down and called my doc. He immediately had me come in the get 1/2 CC out. I think I am PERFECT now! I have awesome restriction, but I'm able to get fluids down with ease.:success1:
  7. I just got fill number 2 today as well (2cc in a 10cc band, total of 5cc now) and I couldn't have described the feeling any better! Shock collar is so true!:blushing: I drank a few TINY sips and the docs office before I left, decided I was good to go and left. As soon as I got in my car I started to slime and PB off the WATER! I'm going to see how I feel in 4 days when I am back on normal food again. If I can't get anything down back to the doc for me! :wink2: Part of me wants to be over-restricted. I know, I know, stupid! :wink2:
  8. Hey Ting! I must say, I am sort of disapointed now too with my fill. Not feeling much restriction any more. Someone told me to wait till morning and I will have some then, but it IS morning and I am getting liquids down fine. I did try to chug some of my Protein drink as a test, and I noticed a LITTLE back up. I suppose we need to be patient until we are on real food, because liquids probably don't get much restriction. Once we try food hopefully it will kick it up a notch! *crossing fingers*
  9. Well I understand all the hype now! I got my first fill today! 3CC in my 10CC band! Woo Hoo! It was NOT bad at all. I didn't look at the needles and was FINE. The sensation you get during the injection is a total trip too! Afterward my doc had me sip some Water to make sure I wasn't too tight. As I drank I could feel it hit my pouch, and it was the most amazing thing ever! My docs then made fun of me because I was saying "oh wow this is so cool!" I get fill number 2 in a month and I will NOT be nervous! :grouphug:
  10. Hiya! My name is Sarah and I just celebrated my 26th birthday Friday! I am getting my band on the 31st of this month and I am VERY anxious and excited. It has been a long long haul for me and to finally be able to count down the days on 2 hands is amazing! Good luck to everyone!
  11. Hey guys, I was reading though this thread as I too have hopes of becoming prego in the (not-so-near) future. (I suppose I need proper suitor first, lol) I have had PCOS my entire life, including very irregular/absent periods. Just curious if anyone has had similar PCOS issues, and if they disapeared after weight loss, and how easy it was to get pregnant?
  12. Thank you all so much for your inspirational words. Hard to believe when I wrote that I thought I would be a month out from surgery! As of today I have yet to be banded but January 31 is the BIG DAY! :cheer2: I seemed to have gotten over some of that initial fear, and have managed to find a great network of people experiencing the same things I am, thanks to this wonderful site. I will update you all after surgery. Woo Hoo! 25 days!
