I Failed The Lapband - Please Help Me.
I am newly banded and have lost 22 pounds since January first. I know my reason for doing this is for my health first. I am doing ti for me, but looking at it in a different light I am also doing it for My kids. I am taking care of thema nd I need to be here to do that. I have put a picture of the three of them on in the front dash of my car. I did that so I can remember although I need this for me I also want it for them. I would like to meet my Grandchildren someday! good luck!

Are You Sure You Don't Want Anything To Drink?
I I have also saved a lot of money not going out to eat. Sometimes after work I would stop and get something to eat and sit before I went home. Kind of my wind down time. I also used to go out to breakfast with a friend a couple times a week. I think going to breakfast with her makes her feel awkward because I don't eat like I used to. My friend and I used to walk into a regular dining spot and the waitress would have our diet pepsi's ready before we even got to the table. I will just order a glass of water and let it sit there. I can't believe how much money i have saved not getting my 32oz. diet pepsi in the morning at $1.75 everyday( over $50)... heck I can buy myself something nice with that money instead, although it usually ends up with the kids! Gave it up cold turkey!

First Fill
I would say the portion control overall is the goal of having the lap band . I would suggest you cut portions so that the weight loss can be achieved. I know I try to eat smaller amounts just on my own because I want to get to my goal weight as soon as I can. Good luck!

3 Days Post Op...gas Go Away!
I couldn't eat or drink a thing the gas pains were so bad! I found a product called Phazyme for gas. It has the maximum dose of simethicone (gas reliever) worked very well. Hate to say it burping and tooting helped and I am not a fan of either, but I did what ever it took. It took me about a week. Hang in there it will pass! Best wishes on your journey!

What Am I Doing Wrong? Constructive Adivce Needed :)
This makes me nervous! I was banded on the 19th of January and lost 13 pounds. I weigh 225 now, but I am afraid it will come to a stop and not lose more. I was 244 at the beginning of January. So I had lost some before surgery too. Hope to lose 1-2 pounds a week. First fill in a week. Good luck. I think switching up the exercise type you do is a good thing too or skip a day or 2 for a little while because I think your body gets used to a certain schedule and doesnt respond as well to doing the same thing each time.

One More Day Closer
It was a challenging day. Stress from home and family. Work went well and believe it or not it is a lot less stressful at work than it is a t home right now. I am caring for my elderly Father and the stress of that is making this journey difficult. I'm a stress eater and I had a good fight with myself to stay in the ring and duke it out with my inner cookie monster! lol After work I stopped at a local restraunt and got a cup of soup broth and tea. Just enough down time to re-charge before heading home! Tomorrow is Saturday and going to try and get out for a walk. Taking the kids skiing I really wish I could still ski too! Maybe next year this time! Onward and upward!

Still Not Feeling Like Myself
This is my 2nd surgery in 3 months. I had a pacemaker repair in November and lap band surgery in January. I must be crazy cause now my body is saying WHAT THE H@#$ WERE YOU THINKING!!! I'm getting older,(46) but the lack of energy is kicking my butt! My lap band surgery was already scheduled when I found out I needed the other surgery and I didn't want to give up my lap band surgery date! WTH I must be clinically insane...at least feeling that way right now! lol Must find energy! So still struggling to get back to me! I think it's going to take rest and figuring out what my body needs as far as protein and nutrition. Good luck!

A Great Non-Clear-Liquid Soup...
I love this soup. I was a week out of surgery and it was my Daughters 18th Birthday. We went to a japanese steak house (her request) and was wondering what I'd eat. This is very filling!

New Bandster-Possible Regret
All normal feelings, but it will pass just hang in there and you won't regret it at all. Especially when you see the numbers on the scale going downward! The first week was not so comfortable and actually not comfortable at all, but it passes! Hang in there- we've all been there and we are here to support you!

Friend Beening Very Negative
I have the same problem with my best friend(since Kindergarten). She has always been overweight when we grew up and I was small. When I mentioned to her that I was going to have the surgery she was so negative and not suppotive at all. She said she'd have to be in the 'Fat club" all by herself? It's not like we have ever had a fat club I think she just doesn't want me to be thinner. I am doing this for my health. She said I am looking older since I ve started to lose weight. I told her I realize that might happen, but what I want is to be healthy so if I look older at least I will still be alive! Its kind of pointless otherwise! So I just take it with a grain of salt and stay away from the subject as much as possible. good luck!
