Problems with insurance?
Something like that happened to me. I was denied. I went in to my PCP and got weighed again and was approved and scheduled by end of the week. Your doc can dispute it easily.

Easting schedule
I'm going back to work next week and you've got me thinking. I can get too busy and forget to eat or drink, and this was before sleeve. Thanks for the tip. I'll work on on my schedule.

Happiness, self-esteem, and WLS

Vsg on july 8th
Don't over do it! Rest when you need to,drink that ounce of fluid every ten minute for ten hours of the day to get your 60 oz in ,drink your protein and have lots of Popsicles and broth for variety! My doc routinely prescribes a small rx of Ativan for anxiety and pain management. I found taking one when I felt stressed helped my pain management better than an actual pain rx. You'll do great!

How much time to take off from work--WORRIED!
My sleeve date was 6/26. I've been off since 6/25. My recovery is going well but I think I am going to stay home through this week (14 work days). I had to drive 400 mile each way to surgery, Dr.kept me 4 days and I am 56. I have a desk job but it is sometimes stressful. I am also short on time but thought taking it off now fully resting and getting my routine down might pay off in the long run.

birth control after sleeve?
My 22 year old daughter took the Depo shot ( she is 5'3/ 110 lb) and had a horrible bout of depression and weight gain that took over a year to recover from. I would have a hard time recommending to anyone.

One month post-op appointment (July 3rd)
Congrats! That is awesome. I am 8 days out and can't wait for the 1 month check in.

No Pump for me
I had the pump and it was just right. I didn't have to wait for meds and by timing the use I was able to keep myself evenly comfortable. It takes more meds to regain pain control then to maintain at a lower level.

1 week post-op stats!
Surgery June 26 I did gain 10 lbs from IV fluids given in hospital. I was surprised about it. That took a few days to reverse then I lost 12 lbs from my starting weight. Able to get protein and water down easily Still a little tired from surgery Looking forward to new life !

Starting pureed food
My diet is shakes first 2 weeks.Week 3 soft foods cottage cheese, flaky fish ....nothing that needs to be cut with a knife. Didn't require puree.

Protein Drinks
I am 7 days out and have been drinking commercial protein drinks, water. jello and popsicles. I just ordered a Nutri Bullit and an unfalvored protein powder called Raw Protein. The commercial drinks are so sweet so I'd like to try to make my own from fruit and vegetables with protein powder. Are any of you doing this? Did it mess with your stomach to switch up?

4 days post op - feels like I will explode
7 days out and not quite as swollen , but was at first, coudn't button my pants. Now the gurgling and other stomache issues have kicked in...taking care of the bloat.

Lightheaded
Are you getting in your water and protein? My doc said to get up and walk around for 5-10 minutes every hour.

Just annoyed
This is major abdominal surgery and it is exhausting recovering. You are still pretty tender after one week. Maybe check with your Dr. for full release date and compromise in the mean time.

Complications today
My Doc told me to use a shot glass and drink one of fluid every ten minutes for 10 hours of the day. That gets 60 oz in you and leaves 14 hours for sleep, exercise, etc. I I set my phone to go off every ten minutes. Of course this is week 1& 2. But is helping to train me how to pay attention since you can't make up for lost fluid quickly.I can't really tolerate much more than an ounce at a time. It's really helping. SF Popsicles help a lot. Hang in there! glad you're feeling better.

Buyers remorse anyone?
I am only 7 days out but it does get better. I think the finality of it hits you when you first get home. I also experienced some emotional/ hormonal feelings that I do not know if others do. Anyway, it is not a magic bullet but is a way to accomplish your goal and it takes work. If you are like me , until this sleeve ! I let everything else get in the way of my dieting. I am excited to see what the future holds.

1 week post-op
Hi Janel I was also 6/26 and the first few days after I came home were rough. I had major buyer's remorse. It also surprised me that I was very emotional . That is not like me. I had to talk myself back, reminding myself why I wanted the sleeve. My family was very supportive when I was down. The first month will be tougher due to the lack of choices but really the rest will be doing what we know we must do to be healthy. Congratulations on going back to work! How was it! I am a little nervous about getting my fluids in and not getting so busy at work I get behind.

Feeling discouraged...
It does get better. I literally set my phone for 10 minutes. Every 10 I sip a shot glass of water or protein drink. I do this for 10 hours a day. It seemed kind of tedious at first but I am feeling better. SF Popsicles , SF Jello and broth have been good options too. I am still more fatigued than I expected 1week out. I gonna take a walk outside today. My doc gave me Lorazapam for anxiety/pain management. I have taken a few times when I get frustrated/anxious. I haven't needed anything stronger for pain.Hope you feel better soon!

June 24th sleevers!
I'm June 26. Hanging in there. Dealing with a little anxiety regarding the permanence of this. I did lots of research but am still feeling low. Seems as though it may be hormonal. I've read that for some people that happens. I have lost 7 lbs and am comfortable. Hoping I'll feel more energetic for going back to work next week.
