Sound Off On Post Op Appetite
- Sleeping ....
I felt the same way at first also. So no worries.- Sound Off On Post Op Appetite
13 weeks out. Not hungry but crave snowcones all the time. I really dont care about food. Protein shake in the AM and water n snowcones the rest unless I feel like something else. Haha popscicles. Sorry. Food isnt ever on my mind. Cheese and those sinsational tuna in the cans do the trick for me. I force myself to eat 3x a day.- Sleeping ....
I sleep on my sides. I used to sleep on my stomach preop but now its very uncomfortable. It may lie in my head for self protection in order not to injure my stomach in my sleep. The mind is a strange thing lol. But as far as sleeping on the sides I dont have a bit of trouble- Sleeve Plication
Wow I just watched how they do the plication. Why did you do that over the sleeve? Do you get hungry? To me it looks pretty dangerous by increasing the chances of something getting stuck due to the way the stomach is stitched inward. Keep us upto date with your journey.- 1000-1400 Cal/day At 3 Months Post Op
My Doc just tells me I do a good job and keep up the good work. I rely on my body to tell me whats right. If Protein shakes and sf hawaiian punch snow cones do it then thats what I do. If I feel good enough to experiment then I give it a shot and see how my body responds. But this is coming from someone that has no hunger. Do you get hungry?- Kinda Naughty Nsv Dont Fuss At Me
Yes maam. I can vouch for that- Not Losing Weight
- Kinda Naughty Nsv Dont Fuss At Me
Unsweet tea is my new favorite too. I drink about 2-3 20 oz containers ( or mediums) a day lol. It goes down so smooth. I wish Water went down like tea does for me.- Kinda Naughty Nsv Dont Fuss At Me
I was the same way. I ate really healthy all my life. No candy, chips, pizza or junk foods. I never ate more than my plate of food. Everytime I would go eat out I always had to bring food home. Before my surgery I was totally boggled as to why I couldnt lose weight and that had an emotional effect on me. But in return since I really didnt eat to harsh my stomach from point A "esphogas" to point B "large intestines" isnt really that long so since I got sleeved my new stomach isnt big at all. Since being sleeved I can see all to well as portion size was my problem. I didnt realize that one should only eat so very little. Instead of plate they should only make saucers because ultimately thats what everyone should have as a plate 4-5 times a day. Now heres my new problem. I goto lots of car shows since I have a show car. This past weekend I took home a 1st place trophy "yay" lol. Well at pretty much all of them they sell beer, hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, hot links you know the typical fairground foods. I choose the hamburger but I get them to use double cheese and no sauces. I let the hamburger cool down and I pick the bread off and discard. You know how when cheese cools down it binds to a layer of bread so when I peel it off I have a tiny layer of bread. I eat a 1/4 at 11ish, a 1/4 at 2is and a little on the way home. I have never finished one yet. So hamburgers arent all that bad. Now being at 13 weeks out I am scared to eat a Taco shell. I know that I can eat a taco salad shell because I tried that to see if the grease would irritate me but that shell is way softer than a corn shell of a taco.- Starting Preop Diet Early
Rimonabant hcl is fda approved. Not on the doctors lists so theres no kick backs for him to push but if you ask for it it is available. My wife quit smoking in a week because it made her. Heres the true background information: Rimonabant also known as SR141716, is an anorectic drug primarily used for comprehensive anti-obesity treatment. It is an inverse agonist for the CB1 cannabinoid receptor.[1] The primary method of action is through reduced caloric intake, due to the anti-hunger effects of rimonabant. An inverse agonist refers to a chemical that binds to a receptor and, when compared to a known agonist for that receptor, shows approximately the same affinity and exhibits roughly inverse effects of one or more primary effects of the agonist.[2] One of the primary effects of cannabinoid receptor agonists is an increase in appetite; rimonabant reduces appetite, demonstrating an inverse effect. Some effects of rimonabant are admittedly under-studied or not well known or explorer; for example, rimonabant-dosed mice reduced voluntary wheel-running behavior when compared to a control group.[4] Rimonabant does have other uses besides weight loss; though the mechanism is not well understood it has been demonstrated to increase probability of quitting smokers by 50%: From the preliminary trial reports available, rimonabant 20 mg may increase the odds of quitting approximately 1(1/2)-fold. Adverse events include nausea and upper respiratory tract infections; the risk of serious adverse events is reported to be low. However, there is current concern (August 2007) over rates of depression and suicidal thoughts in people taking rimonabant for weight control. The evidence for rimonabant in maintaining abstinence is inconclusive. Rimonabant 20 mg may moderate weight gain in the long term.[5] Researchers hypothesized, in keeping with the inverse-agonist nature of rimonabant, that (because cannabinoids nearly univerally impair memory), rimonabant may improve memory; this is borne out thus far in rat studies: The positive influence of rimonabant on performance indicated that the action of endocannabinoids was to reduce SmR code strength, resulting in trials that were at risk for errors if the delay exceeded 10 s. Thus endocannabinoids, like exogenously administered cannabinoids, reduced hippocampal encoding necessary to perform long-delay trials. The findings therefore indicate a direct relationship between the actions of endocannabinoids on hippocampal processes and the ability to encode information into short-term memory.[6] Researchers speculate that due to the pervasive role of the endocannabinoid system in the reward (and therefore addiction-perpetuating) system, rimonabant might be successfully used to treat other addictions besides nicotine.[7] Rimonabant has been demonstrated to successfully block the psychological effects of cannabis use without interfering with the physiological effects.[8] Respective excerpts follow: Recent studies have shown that the endocannabinoid system is involved in the common neurobiological mechanism underlying drug addiction. This system participates in the primary rewarding effects of cannabinoids, nicotine, alcohol and opioids, through the release of endocannabinoids in the ventral tegmental area. Endocannabinoids are also involved in the motivation to seek drugs by a dopamine-independent mechanism, demonstrated for psychostimulants and opioids. The endocannabinoid system also participates in the common mechanisms underlying relapse to drug-seeking behaviour by mediating the motivational effects of drug-related environmental stimuli and drug re-exposure. In agreement, clinical trials have suggested that the CB(1) cannabinoid antagonist rimonabant can cause smoking cessation. Thus, CB(1) cannabinoid antagonists could represent a new generation of compounds to treat drug addiction.[7] Single oral doses of SR141716 produced a significant dose-dependent blockade of marijuana-induced subjective intoxication and tachycardia. The 90-mg dose produced 38% to 43% reductions in visual analog scale ratings of "How high do you feel now?" "How stoned on marijuana are you now?" and "How strong is the drug effect you feel now?" and produced a 59% reduction in heart rate. SR141716 alone produced no significant physiological or psychological effects and did not affect peak THC plasma concentration or the area under the time x concentration curve. SR141716 was well tolerated by all subjects. CONCLUSIONS: SR141716 blocked acute psychological and physiological effects of smoked marijuana without altering THC pharmacokinetics. These findings confirm, for the first time in humans, the central role of CB1 receptors in mediating the effects of marijuana.[8] Citations: [1]Fong TM, Heymsfield SB (September 2009).Cannabinoid-1 receptor inverse agonists: current understanding of mechanism of action and unanswered questions. Thanks yall. I just got home last night and people have been astonished lol- Small Nsv's
He last couple of days I have been getting alot of compliments about the drastic changes lol I am on the right path all the way Started @ 329 and as of today 257- Flight Home After Surgery
Actually it was towards the rear of the plane but it was a bigger plane. The smaller plane I got a window seat so no one would irritate me. They fixed me up. The flight to mexico irritated me so bad I almost offered this kid $100 bucks to sit next to the window. He was knocked out before I got to that point though so I just dealt with it but I did learn from that mistake hence why I approached the desk upon arrival for my flight back home- Flight Home After Surgery
I flew American Airlines and I verify the above statement. Cause I did it- Still Can't Wrap My Mind Around All The Varying Eating Instructions Given By Each Surgeon
I just drank alot of protein shakes and apple juice cut with water up up to the 3 week mark. I feel the same way you do. I am cautious of what I eat and the amount of what I eat. Plus I dont chug any fluids either cause the better I let it heal the better off in the long run its going to be. I totally took my time with my progression- Mexico, Really?
- Flight Home After Surgery
I just walked up to claim my tickets post op and told them that I needed window seats because I just had bariactric surgery and they gave them to me without a problem. They also put me in back of a crash bulkhead which turned out to be awesome due to the extra footroom. My 1st flight was 5 hours ,2nd flight was 1 hour. I had no problems at all with gas. I was more concerned with nausea. It would hit me in spells but I never used the bag.- Ate To Much?
Half a cup is pretty dead on. Thats how I fix my portions. I imagine how much it takes to fill up a half a cup. Then I dont finish it either- Ate To Much?
Nope thats way way more than what I can handle lol. At 3weeks, hell even right now at 11 weeks its hard to eat that much. I just ate some scallops and shrimp. I probably ate 5 25-30count shrimp "which are t-tiny and 3 scallop halves and I ate to much. I threw up a little bit now I am fine. Live n learn everyday. Just dont be like me and drink lemonade. I thought I was going to die last night. That didnt agree with me at all- What Foods Should I Eat One Last Time B4 Surgery?
Fried foods. Cause you wont have them again. Well atleast without alot of discomfort.- 7 Wks Post Op And Have Been On A Stall For A Couple Wks
Your NP should kick rocks. Shes just hating on you. Maybe the diet guide lines that she gave you suck. I started drinking 5 RTD Low carb Protein shakes yesterday and plan on doing so for 5 days. Try something like that.- 7 Wks Post Op And Have Been On A Stall For A Couple Wks
Are yall all using a program like fit day? I am actually using it to tweak my food intake. I have noticed my sodium climbing so I lowered it to 700mg "it was at 2250mgx4days and I gained a pound from increased Water retention. Once lowered it fell off overnight. All I am saying is that it is an awesome tool to use to help our own tool work better to see better results. When you record your daily intake look at everything. You can notice patterns and when you stop losing you can go back to look at whats been going on and manipulate certain things to kickstart the losing process once again. Keep in mind working out increases alot of cortisol, water retention, and other things I cant really think of cause I just woke up. - Sleeping ....
