  1. I've been very concerned about these strange, hard lumpy things under my skin. Some are bumpy and growth-like. Some are long and more smooth. They've been appearing more and more as the days go by. They seem to have something to do with body structure....Oh wait........what?? My husband informs me that these are called "bones." Is anyone else finding weird stuff like this?
  2. Keep doing what you're doing and it WILL happen. Honest. Upping the exercise couldn't hurt though! Just might be the thing that helps it move. You're doing fine. It is very frustrating getting through those periods though. I understand! (six week stall when i was 3 weeks out)
  3. UUUUHHHHHHHHH.....ya that's bad. Throw that crap away!!
  4. Forest Park was outstanding!! I didn't want to go back to the hotel, i was happier there! I was the VERY last room on the hall, but I still had people in and out of my room so often, I could hardly sleep. (that's a good thing, i think) and if I hit the call button, someone answered within 10 seconds. I can't say enough good about the place. My doc is Dr. Kim.
  5. HAAAA CHA CHA!!!! CHECK YOU OUT!!!
  6. Number 1- No, but i hear anesthesia can have various weird effects for a while that wear off. Not sure about the smell thing though. Number 2- Have you used ANY type of nasal medication, whether "natural" or otherwise? I have lost my smell twice over the years, and the first time it was from using that spray zinc stuff-- what's it called-- ZICAM!! That's it. Killed my sense of smell for about 2 years. It happened again with a decongestant spray, but for a shorter time. Just putting that out there....
  7. Ya, for $3.50, the food should have been put on both plates AND dressed!! Otherwise you're paying for the waitress to set one plate of food on the table. And to not even bring the extra plate??? LAME. Talk about getting served the cold shoulder!
  8. I thought 22 lbs would be WAY too lofty a goal for this challenge, but I've lost 16 of it so far! only 6 to go. I already consider this a victory!
  9. I get REALLY hungry. Good thing is...I get full really fast, of course. I've had to increase my carbs a little so i don't fall off the elliptical at the gym. I think the exercise contributes to the hungry. I'm six months out.
  10. You CAN do this!!!! Nothing tastes good enough to have your surgery cancelled!!!! It IS painful and hard to do the pre op liquids, because you still have a full sized stomach. I PROMISE you it will be so much easier once surgery is done. Just push through it. Keep yourself busy. Suck on some sugar free candies. Have sex a lot. Whatever you have to do to not eat. It would be better for you to have an extra protein shake than eat what you're not supposed to eat. If your liver is not out of the way, you run the risk of either a cancelled surgery, or an open incision. You can do this!!!
  11. Same problem here. Tried the plastic thing. ICK. Tried the metal sizer that the jeweler put in. Made my left hand numb for some reason. :/ I keep putting it on my middle finger, but it's high profile, so i keep catching it on stuff because of the new location. I'm thinking it's going to have to go back on the chain around my neck it used to live on when I was pregnant. Hopefully it'll only have to live on there for another 6-12 months.
  12. ROCK IT NATE!!!
  13. ....you load your plate because you're ravenously hungry (it CAN happen;) ), only to take a few bites and declare how full you are and are nauseated by the site of the remaining food....
  14. Exactly!! I was going to say almost the same thing! I do weigh every day, but I've also learned that I have a definite loss/bounce rhythm, but it's all part of it. I don't freak out about the bounce because I understand it. You just have to know yourself and if you can handle weighing every day or not. Many cannot, and I think either way is fine, just don't make yourself miserable with it.
  15. WOW!! I commented on this thread and it was probably a month and half before my surgery, and now, even though I'm less than halfway down, I've experienced MANY of these things!! It's SOOOOO awesome!!! I mean....uh.....TERRIBLE!!! It's terrible how my husband calls me pretty all the time and gets all handsy. OH, and the other night at the restaurant, the girl asked "booth or table" ....and I couldn't decide, because either was FINE. It was awful. I really hated trying on shirts at Kohl's because I used to wear anywhere from a 3x to 5x, and now I had to make do with these stupid little "XL" sizes. PUHHH!!! XL!! You don't get any fabric for your money! OH well.. Guess I'll have to get used to these things. :/
  16. Oohhhh I hate those. I see an old picture and I just shake my head and say to my husband "I'm so sorry..."
  17. Premier shakes from Costco or Sam's. Low in everything it needs to be low in, and 30 grams of protein and they taste really good compared to most low sugar protein drinks. After trying many, many, many brands, This is it for me.

  19. This is an older quote from Dr. Oz. He's not my fave either, but i love this quote: So you're a proponent? (of WLS) "Yes. Listen, if you're one hundred pounds overweight at age fifty, you have the same mortality rate as if you have a solid cancer. Would you operate for cancer? Yeah. So if you cannot lose that weight, get one of these procedures. You have to do it with counseling and full awareness of what you're doing, of course. But if you get people to start losing 5% of their excess body weight, you're really taking a big whack out of the two-thirds of Americans who are overweight or obese right now."
  20. SWEEEET!!!!! Look atcha standin' there in a bathing suit looking all sassy!!! Go girl!!!
  21. Y'all are going to love love LOOOOOOOVE Life After Sleeve!!!! I'm not halfway through my weight loss yet but victories over these types of things are.... DELICIOUS!!!!!
  22. Dang. Now I want a Cappuccino. You look great btw!
  23. This does not sound familiar to me either. I know that's not helpful, but just so you know someone's listening...
