  1. Not even for a minute.
  2. I'm almost 8 months out, and I've been having hair loss for about the last 5 months, but it comes and goes in cycles. If I go for a prolonged period of time not meeting my protein requirements, then a few weeks later, i notice gobs of it coming out, and the same goes when i seem to be "behaving." I notice little baby hairs along my hairline and my hair starts feeling thicker. It's falling out right now. :/ Think i'll go have a shake......
  3. I also have a 34. Depending on the food- If it's a not so good carb laden food- I can hold a cup easy. Dense protein- just 2 or 3 oz comfortably. That said-- my doctor said to never eat more than 1/2 cup at any given meal no matter WHAT the food is. They just don't want me putting more than that in the tiny space to be sure it stays tiny and I don't take in too many calories and such.
  4. I've already established the fact that I'm an expert at gaining and/or keeping weight on. If I get too low, I know about 534,692 ways to level it off...
  5. Tell him. Absolutely no question about it.
  6. 2/13/12- I feel like a new person! Once the landslide loss slowed up I got a little discouraged and goofing around a little, but I think I'm back on track. I'm still losing slowly, but steadily. Exercising 5 days a week. Down 92 lbs. I was hoping for 60 by October, so I can't complain one bit! Now I'm hoping for 100 by my birthday
  7. Ok- I'm 42 and don't have much in common with an over-sexed pop star that's whipping the hormones of our youth into a screaming frenzy....BUT...... She is creative, and sexy, and pretty talented really... AND--had the nerve to gain 25 pounds!!! *GASP* (Smell that? That's sarcasm....) The media is absolutely 'murdalizing' her (to coin a term from Bugs Bunny). So in retaliation, she has started A Body Revolution...read more about it here: http://popwatch.ew.com/2012/09/25/lady-gaga-body-revolution-born-this-way/ Our young girls need to know that being a scarecrow look-alike is NOT normal, so I'm glad Lady Gaga is doing this. Shoot....her "heavy" pictures are probably 40 lbs less than my goal weight!! "To kick things off, she posted a few photos of herself in just her bra and underwear (some above), with the captions “bulimia and anorexia since I was 15” “but today I join the body revolution” “to inspire bravery” “and breed some m$therf*cking compassion.”" Really???? That's what they're complaining about???? I'd LOVE to look like that!!!! Go get 'em G!!
  8. That'd be cool. I'm in Albuquerque. Most truck drivers roll through the "Big I" at some point...
  9. OH I see now...I watched the video...
  10. Nice!!! How do you close it without dumping one side of the stuff out?
  11. Oh yes. They come back. I was hoping it would stay kinda funky because that helped me, but alas....the taste returns....
  12. Both good and helpful articles! Thanks D!
  13. Back in '83, my mom's friend called me Dani-dooter (my name's Danielle) and my mom (Barbara) she called Barber-darber. She had weird names attached to everyone's real name. So, after a while she just started calling me "dooter." Once I stepped into the 90's and "got the email," I used dooter because it was weird and always available. (not so much anymore, oddly enough) Someone at my church got a hold of that info, and now everyone there calls me dooter too. I feel a bit like a cartoon character sometimes, but hey..... it's cool.
  14. {{shudder}} Just re-reading this thread is making my jaws tingle like I wanna yak, and I haven't taken BA vitamins for MONTHS! THat's how bad they are..... thanks, pattivalvo for the info on those and why they make us sick... I just thought I was a real wuss!
  15. OK.... You answered my question while I was typing it!! LOL
  16. WHOA! Good to hear from you J!! Glad you stopped by to give us an update! I've been wondering how you've been doing. Have a pic to post for us? (I didn't read the whole thread yet, so I'll be embarrassed if there is one.... ) SOOOOO....You always said that all you went through was NOT worth it to lose weight. (which I could DEFINITELY see....you were pretty miserable) the $64,000 question is.... Would you do it again? Good to hear from you too, Pook!!
  17. This is a good question from which to collect responses. My doc said that while 60% of excess weight is the "going rate," the body and your own drive and determination can do more than they can predict. I'm personally not going to be satisfied with rolling over at 60%. I'm down 92 lbs, but I'm not even CLOSE to being ready to give up, but I'm nearing the 60% mark....
  18. That makes sense. I'm 7 1/2 months out, and I've slowed down a LOT. The only thing that really keeps the loss rolling is if I make a conscious effort to shave carbs and increase cardio. As far as stalls that one can count on in the first year? Veer too far off the path and you'll find one!
  19. Guilty. This is going to be a lifelong battle for all of us.
  20. Do you have Smith's or Kroger's? They have them. BTW- you probably know this already, but they only help the gas directly in the stomach. The surgical gas that is pumped in to expand the body cavity for the surgeon--remains unaffected by gas-x, as that gas is outside the stomach. I don't know if you've had surgery yet, but this info may help someone else as well.
  21. I wish this had been available to me in my 20s. I would have done it in a heartbeat. You go girl. (btw, I applaude your proper use or "you're" and "your." That may sound petty, but it's a peeve of mine )
  22. I do 30-60 minutes on the elliptical 5 days a week with 2 or 3 days of strength training. (Doc says we'll be weak and skinny if we don't do some strength training. (low weights with high reps) ) I was doing an hour on the elliptical every time, but I found myself getting tired of it and not wanting to go, so to change it up, I sometimes do just 30 minutes, but at the highest level I can keep up. Kind of a challenge. I love the elliptical, because I've developed a knee problem and the elliptical is the only thing that does not hurt it. (I can't bend it all the way...) So...there's that....
  23. Drinking other things at the same time as protein shakes is fine. Is that what you're asking? I may have misunderstood....
