  1. Three weeks after surgery I stalled for 6 weeks. I thought I was going to lose my mind. I was doing E V E R Y T H I N G perfectly. The scale would not budge. I decided my body just needed to do whatever it needs to do to adjust at that point. It did too.
  2. Yup, just get it done, stuff it in your purse and only take it out when you have to knowing that it's going to be really different later. (been there, done that.) I broke down crying on the guy at DMV one time because my picture was so bad. He retook it!! (it didn't make me any thinner though;) ) On the weight section, my license has said "199" for about 15 years! I told the lady one time that it's about 150 lbs off, and she said "awwww just leave it like that, it sounds better. wink wink" Very UNdmv-like! LOL Try not to stress about it.
  3. Yes. Virtually everyone. Please just keep doing what you're doing, and it will all happen in its own good time. I promise. Do not freak out about this, it will pass. Chuck your scale for a while. Even when you start downward again, you will bounce a little up and a lot down...ad nauseum. No worries.
  4. Are you asking what will happen if you do not follow the rules? (just clarifying) If that is the case... don't worry. you will not want to eat anyway. It is VERY unsafe to break the rules in the early stages. The rules are there for your safety. Follow them to the letter. PLEASE. If you are asking something different, please say so.
  5. Hated Bariatric Advantage. PUKE. GROSS. AWFUL. I still feel like yarging when I even try to remember the taste. Had to give them away.
  6. Ok, lemme 'splain what your looking at here: The brown thing is my shirt. The denim color is my pants and the white thing is my TRAY TABLE ALL THE WAY DOWN with a couple inches to spare!! The blue tabbie looking thing is MY SEATBELT, not only fastened without an extender, but a few inches pulled out. Then just to be a smart@$$, I went and used the airplane bathroom JUST because I could!! HAHAAAAAAAAAA!!! I love it. Oh, what 98 lbs can do for a person!! Love it. Don't give up, people!!!
  7. YAAAYYY!!! (clap clap clap)
  8. Well, then you share with your food buddy! HE can get fat while you keep losing.
  9. Au contraire, mon frere!!! Wait until you have lost all the weight you want to lose and are well on your way in maintenance. Your capacity will have increased a bit at this point, so you have to be careful, but you CAN enjoy "normal" meals. Just much smaller. I've had some very delicious food recently, and had to give half of it to my husband, but that works out (he's skinny already;) ) You can INDEED enjoy a food trip. It will just take you longer. Don't they server much smaller portions out there anyway? (depending on the country...) People have linked true food enjoyment with pigging out and stuffing the stomach to bursting. With the sleeve you realize that food is even more enjoyable in smaller amounts with a varied selection.
  10. Wow. She was YOUNG!! You made it sound like she was like...98! (My mom is 73) I'm sorry for your loss also NOw....the dressing....DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!! You behave yourself young lady. The rules are for your safety this early on. Now git on out there and...drink your drinks.
  11. G2, Powerade Zero, and Mott's for Tott's low sugar apple juice were my favorites that first week. A little broth. Not much else. Only about 4 oz of the juice per day though. I used it as a chaser for the liquid Vicodin, or even mixed it together to help swallow it down. I chewed on ice constantly because the cold felt good down there.

Well rocks is not good, so that makes sense!!! Glad you could find a sub. It's better than NO sushi!!
  13. Dooter replied to lil lee's topic in Soft (stage 3)
I tell you, I don't substitute a thing! I loooove my sushi. I can only eat about 6 or 7 pieces of a roll (depending on the cuts) and that teeny bit of rice has not set me back at all. it's just my carbs for the day mostly. That said....I only have sushi a couple times a month. It's a little pricey here in the desert!
  14. WHATEVER YOU DO.......do NOT eat anything with MALTITOL (sugar substitute). Unless you enjoy pooping your pants about 30 minutes later. OH. MY. GOSH.... Horrific. Then again a few minutes later, and then the rest of the night....
  15. Here's the thing...it will thin, then grow in some, then thin some more, then grow in again...it cycles. I'm nine months out, and it's still doing it. My hair is below my shoulders, so I've taken to putting it up in a pony tail, then flipping it through and curling it and kinda ratting up the top to make it all look poofier. It's working well, because I refuse to cut my hair. I'm just going to hang out and wait for the new growth to come again. When the weight loss is over I'll still have my hair. Just a thought.
  16. Yep. There they are! Or...WERE!!
  17. Fine. I'mma go look!
  18. NO NO NO!!! You don't get to put "breasts" on the title then tell us to get our minds out of the gutter! (buzzer noise) You put it there!! We were expecting to see your breasts! hahahaa (ok, not really) 1/2 of a big one or mostly all of a small one. chicken breast that is.
  19. Hey there! Well, first of all, how much you lose in the first month or so depends on what you have to lose. If you weigh 400 lbs, you may lose 50 that first month. If you have 80 lbs to lose, you might only lose 15 or 20. It's hard to say. Your diligence will play a part in that of course. Question 2- It absolutely has to be whatever your surgeon tells you to do. They are all a little different, but you must follow his directions TO THE LETTER for your own safety. Question 3- No problem. I drove home from Dallas to Albuquerque a week later. I had some help, but did most of the driving. Ask away.....
  20. I would look at statistics on success rates with bigger sleeves vs standard sizes. No need to go through with it if it will ultimately not be a help to you. Just something to think about and discuss with your doc. Personally- I eat too fast, and "get away" with it. I've tried and tried to slow down, but I pretty much eat at the normal speed. I can drink 8 oz of liquid in just a few minutes. Everyone has a different experience, but mine has been flawless and problem-free. It did not take me long to "eat normally" again. Just smaller and healthier. My appetite has returned to some extent and some various cravings for carbs and sugars. It is a constant battle, but I know if I had more stomach, I'd be filling it. Just sayin'..... So, there's that....
  21. Or next week for that matter!
  22. BACK AWAAAAYYYY FROM THE SCALE!! Nothing to see here, move along. Don't even THINK about weighing your self this week!!!
