  1. If you've been cleared to eat blended foods- put a can of soup in the blender, or make some egg salad and push it through the blender, tuna salad blended. (Fat Free mayo) Those are some things I did. And DO blend it no matter how soft you think it is. Do not rely on your perceived supernatural ability to chew well enough. LOL You can add some beef gravy to the mashed potatoes for good flavor.
  2. Gosh, I don't know. I've not eaten a bite that didn't agree with me. Not the food, per se.... HOWEVER....if you eat too much, too fast and/or too fatty....you will feel like you're going to barf and get kinda weak and sweaty...just a weird feeling. Then you will get the runs within minutes. What bypass patients call "dumping." It's supposed to be different than what they get, but it is very similar.
  3. (a tear falls.....**sniff**) <<wild applause with standing "O">>
  4. I think you all need a nap! You're goofy!!
  5. I could see that it was a danger during pre op liquids and the first few weeks post op. After all- liquid in, liquid out, right?? After that. Not a problem.
  6. I was actually enjoying that as it was a deterrent for me. It does, however come back. Anethesia has that effect for a while as well as ketosis. I was happy that chocolate tasted weird to me. Now it tastes as glorious as ever. I don't know whether to be happy about that or not!
  7. WOOHOO!!! Congrats!!! Lord willing, that will all be a distant memory soon and you'll be shrinking away!! I stayed two nights because I payed cash and I wanted my money's worth!! LOL
  8. This swimsuit is from "Swimsuits Just For Us" and was originally $84.00. It has only been worn a few times and is a VERY good suit-Size 30w. It is very flattering to the large frame! I would just like to give it a good home for $25 plus shipping (depending on where you live). PM me if you are interested in this. --Danielle
  9. NEVER tell yourself you took the easy way out. You were smart and realized that this was the best thing for your health to KEEP the weight off. Sure, we've ALL gained and lost hundreds of pounds only to put it alllll back on and more. You're still doing the same hard work you'd be doing without surgery. It's just going to STICK this time, right?? Great job!
  10. Woo Hoo!! Isn't life great with 100 less pounds??? Great job!! Can't wait for the pics!
  11. Awwww crap! I forget you can get to Albuquerque quite handily! Ok, ok.... I be good girl. I will take your suggestion under advisement. Sounds like a good plan. I need to re-plan a plan. Take a break and dive in again. Thanks......Keep kicking. (what does your truck look like in case I need to hide???
  12. Just wait until you've lost enough weight to look at yourself in the mirror and see the difference. When you look at your "before" pics-- you truly cringe. It's a good thing though
  13. I have to honestly say...My husband is my best friend, and he has always been thin and active. Now that I'm getting in better shape, we are having FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN!!!!!! In EVERY sense of the word. Life is good.
  14. I'm almost halfway to where I want to be and I've just flat lost my motivation. I feel dangerously close to slipping into old, bad habits. "Just a bite of this or piece of that won't hurt." Before you know it.... Well....you know the story. You've lived it. I"m still exercising. I still can't eat more than a "sleeve sized" portion of food, so a binge in the true sense is impossible, but if anyone could gain weight on little food, it would be me. I've not gained, but certainly dead in the Water. It's not a "stall" like we all talk about. It's just me. I'm stalled. I'm stalling. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just need to push through this, but I need to reset my brain again!! NEWBIES: Don't think this can't happen to you or that surgery is magic fairy dust!! It's blood sweat and tears, but worth it. Even at a time like this, I will tell you it's worth the effort. But it IS hard work, make no mistake and don't let anyone tell you different. You WILL get hungry and your old habits WILL try to haunt you. It's a battle we will wage the rest of our lives. The sleeve is a tool that will make that battle easier, but it doesn't work without YOU. OLDTIMERS: Did you go through this??? How did you get through it?? Tell me I can do this!!! I just needed to be accountable to you all. I feel better. Now I need a good butt kickin'! Here's me from today....
  15. I've heard that after you reach goal, wait a good 2 years before you decide to do anything like plastic surgery (which it does not sound like you want) because of the amazing restorative properties of the body. Everything may not go back to "normal" but sounds like a lot of improvement can take place in that first couple years. Then evaluate the need to slice and dice. I am also hoping my batwings and bag of wet laundry in the front can be improved by "non cutting" methods
  16. I'm 8 months out and this will still happen to me if I eat food that is too rich and if I eat too much of it too fast. Too rich, meaning....too fatty. A cream soup could do that if you're in early stages. Especially if eaten too fast.
  17. Just let him cool off. He'll work it out in his mind, but it's a process. Hopefully what comes out of it will be realizing it's a good thing. When you feel he's had enough time, try to ask him specifically what his fears are. Not just that he's afraid you'll die.
  18. Oh boy...I remember that feeling. I prayed and prayed and prayed. That's all I can say to do. It's very exciting but a little scary too. Just try to stay busy until it's time. You'll do great and it'll be over before you know it, and you'll blink and you'll have lost 20 pounds!
  19. Ok...Throwing my two cents in the pot here. And really....it's not MY two cents. It's from God's word. Your friend says WLS is not what God intended. Well, we have to back WAAAAAYYYY up to the beginning. Here's what God intended: Perfection. To give it a crude summary- He put perfect Adam on the perfect earth, gave him a wife and they screwed it all up. They plunged the creation into death and decay by their sin. Now bear with me....A little more history....This is why God gave The Law to His people, to show them their sins and that they've offended a holy God, the price for which is eternal damnation and that's why God sent Jesus to pay this price for us, so that if we have God granted faith in him, we will be with God forever. Again...crude summary. (Lest you think God didn't see this coming, this was not "plan B." It was foreordained from eternity past....but that's another conversation.....) Adam and Eve were not meant to die. Or get fat, or old, or cancerous or anything else. They were meant to live perfectly forever in perfect bodies. SO...here we are in decay. God has so graciously given us many many many means of keeping ourselves taped up, stapled up, sewn back together, medicated, sliced, diced, lifted, and healed in a variety of ways. WHO says that weight loss surgery is NOT a legitimate form of healing one of our many ills, and what is their qualification in that opinion? The Bible does not say "Thou shalt not have weight loss surgery, but an appendectomy is fine." Here's the bottom line: Can you glorify God in your surgery and weight loss? Can you lose weight to the glory of God? For me that is a resounding YES and AMEN!
  20. Nice!! My husband and I both ran around today thinking "I WANNA LIVE IN SAFETY HARBOR!! NOWWW!!! LOL
  21. I'm getting really excited!! We go to Tampa on November 1st to talk to possible new employer and have a look around for a couple days. We're going to check out Safety Harbor. So far we like what we see online. Any live experience anyone?
