  1. That's AWESOME!!! This may sound dorky, but I don't want you to have to beat the crap out of anyone.... make up a list of about 10 or 20 stock questions and when you don't know what to say, you ask questions. People LOVE to talk about themselves. You ask one question and you'll be nodding and shaking your head and saying "uh huh" for like....half an hour.... And they'll think you're like...the greatest guy they ever met! (OH-- and I finally lost a pound BELOW my bounced up weight. Yay!! I really need to kick my own butt. Turns out I was all swollen up from Aunt Flo visiting!! I've been in menopause for a couple years, so this was a shocker!)
  2. My experience has been an absolute fairy tale!! No pain, no problems, no lack of energy, in fact I'm overflowing with it now!!! I can not complain about a moment of ANYthing. Most people don't post a lot of things about doing well, so you hear a lot of negative experiences. There's more of a chance that everything will go just fine for you than not. Really.
  3. One of the guys that works at the Y asked me about my weightloss the other day, and asked me if I did it the "old fashioned way." I said YUP. Eat less and exercise more. Just like you people have been telling me for years. HAHAHAHAHA A lie of omission?? Maybe. His business? NO!! He's on a need to know basis.......and guess what......
  4. People like that are ignorant, plain and simple. These people commenting (from what it seems) know next to nothing about gastric surgery of any kind OR people who have them done. They probably are, and have always been thin, and just like to criticize what they don't understand. DON'T let it get under your skin. They don't know how hard I work to drag my sorry @$$ to the gym 5 days a week and push myself til I feel like i'm going to fall of the elliptical, and they CERTAINLY don't know how hard it is to live on 800 calories a day, even WITH a banana-sized stomach. They will never know. Just.....chalk it up to foolishness and ignorance.....
  5. HOLY COW!!! LOOK AT YOU!!!!!!! Where'd you go?!?!?
  6. Would a picture of JUST the panties be ok?? I'm not posing in them!
  7. ....sexy purple panties!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!! I'm starting to feel "normal" again!!! I feel like I'm coming back to me. Speaking of which...my poor husband has to take extra Vitamins and keep up on his fluids and electrolytes. I'm flat wearing him out. My sex drive has gone into super-hyper-speed-freaky-can't-get-enough mode. So ladies.....if your libido is in the ditch....just wait.....just wait. (Oh, and exercise. A LOT). Thank you sleeve. Thank you Dr. Kim. And Thank you God!!!
  8. Those are the little things that just keep letting you know how good you're doing!!! Love it!
  9. Well, I'd have to lose a lot by morning, so i'm going to go ahead and throw in the towel on this challenge. I know I was shooting high so i'd make decent progress, so i can't complain about 16 lbs, huh? I did get into the wedding dress too, so i'm happy
  10. CONGRATULATIONS!! You look awesome!!! Never feel like you're bragging. We all love pictures
  11. OH, you're still pre op.....still.... you'll lose. LOTS!
  12. Your body is still saying "WTH did you do to me????" There's a lot of adjusting going on in there that you can't see. No worries.
  13. OOOoooohhhhhhhhh. Ok. That makes sense. And RE: lost in the desert- EEEWWW!!! That's just wrong!!!! HHAHAHA I like the mugging scenario though....
  14. The excellent thing about this forum is that if you have "what's it like to have a sleeve" type questions you are going to get real-world experience answers. If you called the surgeon's office with the same question, you are going to get a stock answer based on how things are "supposed" to work. When one is deciding whether or not to have this surgery, experience is good to hear whether good or bad. (not that the surgeon's office will give you WRONG answers....just more textbook-ish) That said, yes, your doc is very smart in advising you to be wary of food advice and such issues. Always take docs advice over ours.
  15. I'd really like to know the theory behind the drain thing and why docs are so different on it. I woke up with no drain, no cath, nothing except the I.V. fluids. I've healed up spectacularly, and so have people with drains. So what gives? (Just curious)
  16. I've been that way lately, and I don't even have PMS i can pin it on, so I'm going to have to say it's the moon phase and its pull on me or something. The carb monster has reared its ugly head. Imma hafta lop it off again!!!
  17. I don't know if it's heredity or what, but even when I weighed 125, I think I STILL had cankles. I guess I'm just a "sturdy" girl. HAHAHA (should have been an ice skater, i guess!)
  18. OH MY GOSH THAT'S NOT FUNNY SO WHY AM I LAUGHING SO HARD!!
