  1. I actually used to wake up a jillion times a night. After surgery, I started sleeping like a LOG!! I don't even get up to go to the bathroom anymore!
  2. That did explain it well. Then I went on to freak myself out with this woman's video showing us her excess skin. YIKES she only started out 30 lbs more than i did....but i digress..... don't eat and drink at the same time kids!
  3. Oh ya. Hubby just had to dump a truckload of Drain-O into our shower to contend with what looks like a dead cat shoved down drain, but turns out to be half of my head.
  4. Sounds like you're off to a good start! Welcome!
  5. I went to Dallas for my surgery, and I live in New Mexico, so I went to my PCP and asked if he'd be willing to take on my followup care and he was thrilled to do what he could to help. He's been very interested in the whole thing. A change of pace for him I suppose, as he probably sees more sick people than "getting healthy" people.
  6. thanks! I needed more confirmation. I'm at 6 months and shedding more than my Labs!
  7. Yep. It's like flushing the toilet. Then you want to eat again too soon or don't feel full while you're eating. Not to mention it could be painful or it might make you blow your groceries. Many reasons but prevention of overeating is primary concern.
  8. Sounds like you got a little bug of some sort...
  9. The hunger will calm down soon once the remaining Grehlin gets more out of your system. I take my ppi whenever I remember. It doesn't seem to make a difference for me as long as its once a day.
  10. I lived on laughing cow in the soft food phase! Good stuff.
  11. I agree with the quinoa pasta. It's tasty too.
  12. HOORAAAAYYYY!!!!
  13. That's awesome!!! Congratulations!
  14. I've had pretty bad reflux for many many years. I ended up with a hiatal hernia as well that got repaired during the surgery. It was a good sized hernia that caused me a lot of trouble, and I feel it greatly increased my reflux. Since surgery in February, my reflux is WAY WAY better and I attribute a lot of it to the repaired hernia and the sharp decrease in sugar, fat and refined carbs in my diet. I do continue to take a prilosec daily, as i notice an increase in acids when I don't. I still don't know if this will be forever, or if it will get even better. I'm only 6 months out, so that's my experience so far.
  15. If she had to follow one of us around for a week and eat as little as we do and exercise as MUCH as we do....she'd drop DEAD!!! I've always said...the first person that tells me this is the "easy way out" is getting punched dead in the face!! Ignorance never stops people from spewing garbage.
  16. That sounds almost just like the one I had to follow. The difference in mine came at the soft food to regular food progression. I did not have to wait five months. My instructions were more of an "as tolerated" kind of thing to progress to regular food. I was only on 'soft food' for a couple of weeks.
  17. Ohhhh FMF you have been waiting so patiently!! I'm excited for you!!!
  18. mmmmmmm.....guacamoooooolleeeeeeee.......
  19. Well, first of all, your taster is off right now. Some things will taste weird for a while. Secondly, Greek yogurt can be an acquired taste for some people. Try different brands. They all have a bit of a different personality. Oikos, for example is a mild, sweeter Greek while Chobani will flay the taste buds right out of your mouth. Shop around.
  20. Look up "Pookeyism." She lost her mama right after surgery. You may want to chat with her. I'm so sorry for your loss. :'(
  21. I'd like to at least see and feel what "too small" may be like! If I don't like it...I'm an expert at gaining weight, I already know that!
