  1. Isopure zero carb...love all their flavors, minimum protein taste!
  2. I hear you, I get all nervous before every appt I have, white coat syndrome I guess, LOL. You will be FINE! Think of it as your Christmas gift to yourself!
  3. Congrats!!!! Hoping to have my date after meeting with my surgeon tomorrow...8 weeks will FLY by girlfriend! I have been on this journey since July and it seems like only yesterday I went to my first seminar!
  4. Fantastic! I soooooo have the same fear of the unknown!!! Appt with surgeon on Tuesday to discuss...SURGERY DATE! SO excited I almost can't breathe!
  5. I have yet to be banded, but have seen quite a few people commenting on being able to tell when food or liquid has gone to the "other side" of the stomach, and has passed through the band...how the heck do you guys know that?! Another thing i worry about is, how will I know when my pouch is full, how will i know when to stop eating...since clearly, im here for a reason, I ignore my body's signals of fullness, to the point where im afraid I will not KNOW when my pouch is full! I want to succeed, how did you guys tune into your band so well?
  6. sometimes, that's all it takes, a little lightbulb to go off, and tell you: YES you can still go to taco bell, you just have to make healthier choices...you will WANT to make healthier choices!! Good for you!
  7. WOW!!! Congrats! What an inspiration! A very Merry Christmas to YOU!
  8. I've never had anesthesia but my mom had that same reaction when she had back surgery 2 yrs ago...hoping I don't have a problem too! Glad to hear you're feeling better!
  9. Welcome! You have come to the right place. The people here are wonderful and informative, and the best part is, if you have a question, they have been there, so everyone has an opinion to offer. I would like to congratulate you on what sounds to be successful treatment of your cancer, and your determination to press on and lose the weight, even though I am sure you're really tired of doctors appointments. Even though you are far from home, you can always talk to us, your lap band family
  10. Congrats on taking a stabd and finding another Dr. Glad to hear everything is moving along smoothly. I have a surgery consult the day before your surgery, Im dying to have a date!
  11. I asked my nutritionist about calories, and she said calories will not even be a factor for the first year. Listen to you body, and recognize the feeling of actual hunger. If you need to have a shake or something, then do it. You can't be under nourished, you'll go crazy!
  12. Looks like opinions vary widely from surgeon to surgeon. Mine told me no beer, because the carbonation will stretch the pouch, but hard liquor and wine are ok.
  13. OmG. Reading this pre surgery probably NOT a good idea!! Tell me its worth it, please! I'm lmao at cocoabean's "burger guts" incident!!!!
  14. Did you go through any pre op clearance at all? With the amount i have been through, (see my signature) I would never take such a cavalier attitude with eating with my band. I was annoyed at first with the amount of teating, but i honestly feel like it made me want it more, and realize, this is not a joke. It's life. MY life . And I'm saving myself from and early death. You need to stop and think!
  15. Good for you! I'm 24 and can't wait to get banded! Let us know how it goes!
  16. I'm no expert, and I'm not banded so I'm not sure exactly when your first fill should be, but I do believe you should have had a fill by now, most people visit their Dr once a month for the first year...have you been to see your surgeon?
  17. Wow, not banded yet, but can't wait until I know my band as well as you know yours, right down to telling the Dr how much you think you'd like in or out! Incredible!
  18. Ok so my second set of results came back...inconclusive! The sleep center called to have me come on for a consultation with their Dr. I saw him today, we talked about my sleep habits, tiredness during the day, he listened to my breathing, and measured my neck. We had a nice 20 minute chat and he was extremely pleasant. Then, BOMBSHELL! He would write my Dr. a letter saying he does not believe I have sleep apnea. I told him mr surgeons office told me no sleep study, no surgery. He offered an alternative: a home sleep study!!! I'm so thrilled. Don't know why the sleep study freaked me out so much, maybe because its my last preop test and I put so much pressure on myself that I just couldn't relax. Either way, I will be contacted in a week for an appt, will go to the sleep center, have some sensors applied, and go home to sleep. Best news I have heard since my insurance approval!
  19. I guess I should ask, what do you take for vitamins?!
  20. I recently read through a thread where women noticed they are tighter during their period. So maybe irs the opposite?
  21. Lanebryant.com is how I have gotten through my fat years with style! Everyone is always asking me where my clothes are from, and their bras are adorable, fit well, and support the girls!
  22. Woohoo! I am meeting with my surgeon on Dec 20, hope ill be a January bandster too!
  23. Agreed. Ew to that surgeon. Make sure you leave a review for him so others know!
