  1. I lost 11 pounds in 7 days...I thought for sure my surgery was gonna be cancelled cause I wasnt gonna lose enough weight in time. I drank 4-5 bottles of water a day and 2 protein shakes. I also had one very low calorie meal. You CAN do this. I know its hard and it sucks but just give it all you got!
  2. I looked at as a lifetime commitment. I have been overweight for awhile now so if they told me I had to wait a year I would have waited. I felt like I had nothing to lose. I had to do a 4 month supervised diet and the time flew, I was banded two weeks ago. I know it seems like forever but its really not
  3. Water....Lots and lots of water!!!!

  6. This just about made me choke on my water! I do the same thing. I was laughing at the friends turning into fries though...to funny!!!!

  8. Its true. Since I started the Pre-op diet at the beginning of the month and now an on the liquid post-op diet...I find myself wanting to shop and shop and shop. I cant afford it so I try to stay out of the stores now. The bad part is I find myself going on amazon and wanting to buy stuff on there.
  9. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first step in your new life! Congrats to you!
  10. I get to start my mushie food stage on Wed. I guess im just planing on lots of cottage cheese and yougurt. I cant stand the thought of blended pizza or big macs....GROSS
  11. What is your current BMI? Usually that is a huge deciding factor for the ins company. I am pretty sure that medicare covers the surgery but I dont know what thier specific requirements are. Oh by the way...had a BF ever done to me what your BF did to you...I would be find me a new BF
  12. I also have a deductable of $2000.00. My son was admitted to the hospital earlier in the year and that hospital did send us a bill for the deductable. He was admitted through the ER so I dont know if that made a difference or not?
  13. I would not worry. My surgen told me that some people do gain weight the first six weeks after surgery. They are just more concerned if you are healing properly. I am sure once you get a fill you will not be eating nearly as much!
  14. You look fantastic!!!! Its people like you who inspire people like me!
  15. I have no advice but I think you should call your dr asap!
  16. I think it varies....I am starving on this liquid diet. I only have 3 more days to go before I can go to mushie food...sigh Now I have heard some people say they are not hungry at all after surgery. I will hope for you to be one of them because I know how badly this sucks lol
  17. my surgen only made me lose 5 pounds to have the surgery. Generally your surgen will give you a pre op diet to follow about 2 weeks before surgery
  18. I met with the surgens office first. They checked my ins to see what was required. I had to do a 4 month supervised diet. I did meet with my surgen twice while I was in the process of my supervised diet. I dont know why your pcp wants you to wait? I have heard of that before though. Every doctor is different.
  19. Mine was 2 protein shakes a day and 1 meal. I kept the meal very low calorie. I lost 11 pounds in 7days!
  20. That is soooo scary.....I would have never even THOUGHT of going outside the U.S. to have my band placed...now I know why
  21. Nice to meet you! I was banded on October 19th as well! I lived in WI all my life till just this year. LIving in FL now
  22. I have been drinking those ensure protein shakes in the last few days. That seems to help a lot as well
  23. I only had to do clear liquids on the first day. I have had a few milkshakes...horrible im sure but I am starving. I just keep looking for anything that will keep me full for more than an hour!!!
  24. I got to choose and I went with the lap band. The way they explained it to me was the lap band was a little bit more "unforgiving" than the realize band. I need to have that structure lol so I decided to go with lap band
