Awesome Sandwich
OMG!!!! this sounds so good. I haven't had any bread as of yet.......well, I've had soft tortilla (bean burritto) without any problems. Breads were my weakness prior to surgery.........in my mind sliced bread would get stuck trying to get to my stomach..... I will definitely try this recipe. Blessings2u--BJ

How Can I Decrease The Size In My Calves?
Trainers are not as expensive as I initially thought. I have a friend who has a trainer coming to her home @ $15 per session with a 20 session minimum. He has agreed to allow me to attend the sessions at the same price. His special will last until Jan 31st. Perhaps you can find someone like him. I haven't been able to exercise yet. I actually tried walking my treadmill at home and because I'm not eating that much this month--it wiped me out. February will be my month. I agree, Youtube has a video for EVERYTHING. Blessings2u--BJ

Fried Foods And Hot Wings Forbidden Forever?
I had grilled hot wings dipped in a little ranch dressing....no problems at all----could only eat 3 pieces, but that was fine----that was at about 6 weeks out. I'm not eating meats during the month of January---but you better believe I will have my wings for Super Bowl! Blessings2u--BJ

I love Chipolte!
I've never hear of or seen a Chipotle restaurant. BUT my husband went to Taco Bell for a bean burrito and I must say that it was awesome. It went down so well and was filling. I was only able to eat half, but that's all I needed. I had a little brown rice last night in a meatless chili a friend of mine made and didn't have any problems. Blessing2u--BJ

Cereal
I've had oatmeal and grits but I haven't had cold cereal yet. I'm looking forward to having me a bowl of Rice Crispy's. I believe in anything in moderation. A bowl every now and then shouldn't hurt. We just have to remember to remain in control. Blessings2u--BJ

1 Yr Out, Starving, Even After A Protein Shake, Help?
I am 9 weeks out as of tomorrow (Wednesday) and I find that my stomach wants something to eat every 2-2 1/2 hours. I drink water all day and I'm still trying to find real protein (meat) that can go down easy. Thus far little broiled hot wings are great, but I realize I can't eat them everyday. I'll try turkey meatballs to see if that'll help. Good luck to you and I pray that your food issues are revolved. Blessings2u--BJ

Exhausted - 9 Weeks Out Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Fall Asleep By 7pm
I am 4 weeks out (5 weeks this coming Wednesday). I feel the same way. I have all of the vitamins and was taking them fine before surgery, but now they make me nauseous. I purchased a multivitamin/protein powder yesterday that has B12 included. I'll see if this gives me back some energy. I just feel no energy to really do anything. This has got to work. #2 Please Help
It took me 2 days after getting out of the hospital (so on day 6 after surgery).......perhaps all bodies are different. I put a little benefiber power in my soup a few days ago and it made me go so much it scared me. I think from this point on, I'm going to let mother nature take its course-------unless I really have to take drastic measures. Blessings2u--bj

14 Days Post Gastric Sleeve Op, Bored With Protein Shakes, Extremely Fatigued
I am 11 days out and I'm hardly getting in any protein. I tried a shake I loved prior to surgery, but now...it is awful!. I have tasteless unjury and I put a little in my broth and applesauce, but that's not much. I tried a powered shake and it comes across as being very thick.....which also turns me off. I know it's only almost 2 weeks, but I am feeling a little week, so I know I've got to figure this out. Perhaps during my week 3 once I can have eggs, all will be right with the world. I'm also looking forward to having grits with a little unjury added. Like I keep saying, this is really a process. Blessings2u--bj

At the starting...line?
Congratulations! I was sleeved Nov 9th. The best decision I ever made (short of marrying my husband). I too did major research, mostly via YouTube and that's where I found my confidence to move forward. I have no regrets---only that I wish I had done it sooner. Blessing2u--bj

Is it possible to stretch your new stomach?
I had my 1st post-op surgeon's visit yesterday. My surgeon mentioned that our pouches will stretch over time. The thing we have to do is be portion conscience. He said in the beginning since we are healing of course it's small, put as we go through our stages, the stretching occurs. We just must to clear on how much we are eating---1st protein, 2nd veggies and last starch. If we stay full, then we won't stretch. Blessings2u--bj

HEY, LOOK HERE!!! PRAYERS NEEDED TONITE/TOMORROW!!!! :)
Bless right now in the name of Jesus. Touch the mind and hands of each surgeon, nurse and caretaker. Allow no hurt, harm or danger to come to my friend. I pray for minimal pain, minimal gas and no mishaps. She will return home as scheduled, and her recovery will be an easy one. In the name of Jesus I pray. Blessings2u--BJ

I am the only one??
This is a great post. I'm 8 days out and of course I'm limited to water/crystal light and broths. Today however, I've been released to yogurt, applesauce...things like that. My taste buds are so sensitive and so is my sense of smell. I'm beginning to hate the taste of splenda----but for the next month, I'm following the plan set for me. Failing this tool is not an option. Blessings2u--BJ

Sleeved yesterday 11/9 and checking in!
Congratuations!!! I was also sleeved on Nov 9th! Came home from the hospital today. Feeling pretty good----the worst thing going on right now is that I can feel everything going through my stomach. Tell me this lasts only a few days?

Liquid Diet
I found out yesterday that I'm scheduled for 12:30 Nov 9th. I have to be at the hospital by 10:30. They say it will take 2-3 hours to be sleeved. About 1 1/2 hours in recovery and I'll be released Thursday by 12:30. My liquid diet has been been ok. I'm remaining focused and determined to make my surgery as easy as possible. Does anybody think that there is a difference in pain/gas with those who have the pre-op liquid diet and those who don't?--Blessings2u--BJ

Excited Waiting For Gastric Sleeve Surgery Insurance Approval
They also requested my 2 year weight after they received my paperwork. Aetna called my surgeon contact, she gave it to them, and they gave her my approval code ----3 business days. You got this!!! Think positive. Blessings2u--BJ

90 days with Aetna
Aetna, my insurance company requires a 90 waiting/evaluation period. Nothing could be submitted until then. After that, I was approved in 3 business days. Scheduled to be sleeved Nov 9th. I'll be praying for your approval. Blessings2u--BJ

Egg white protein powder?
I purchases Unjury no flavor tub and I plan to sprinkle on my eggs when I'm at that stage. Right now I add it to Crystal Light and it really does not have a taste. Blessings2u--BJ

Having Second Thoughts Now
from what I read and experienced, every test you have to have was a requirement form my insurance. I only had a 3 month waiting period with mandatory evaluations (psychologist, nutritionist, blood work, sleep study, Upper GI, 3 monthly surgeon visits, 2 year weight history, primary care Dr. clearance------now that I'm approved, I have to endure the pre-op testing (blood work, ekg and chest xray). Don't get discouraged. Find out exactly what your insurance requires. I'm sure all is normal and brings you closer to an approval code. Blessings2u--BJ
