  1. Shades of my older daughter. She really flipped out. Still will not talk to me about it. But change my mind... NEVER!!! It is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Take you friend with you so she gets educated too, and maybe you will find a supporter after all!
  2. Flat ginger ale (diet of course) helps me with nausea.
  3. Here is just fine. You lost well at the beginning, just lose the cocky and go back to what you know works. If you want it it will happen!
  4. You should not have problems with protein if you are eating the right portions. Carbs are for gravy, you should get energy from protein.
  5. Sounds about right. Congrats on your approval! You are on the way!
  6. Probably so... don't worry, having an extra is better than missing one! LOL
  7. Yes, this is common especially if you are using your abs.
  8. Anxiety and nervous are perfectly normal to feel right now. Keep yourself busy and focus on other things for now. Or... get busy preparing for the pre and port op diets. Shop for protein drinks and powders that you like. Order UnJury Chocolate Splendor online. Everyone loves it!
  9. Great solutions.... after all, we deserve the best!
  10. Depending on the size of the band, most docs leave some fluid in the band during surgery. If you do not feel hungry I would not automatically schedule a fill. Just go in for the check up and discuss with your medical team.
  11. Congratulations! Walk when you can to help reduce the gas pains later.
  12. The port site is very slow to heal... 3-4 weeks. b If you are concerned or it is oozing any at all, I would call the doctors office to double check with them.
  13. I have been at goal for some time. If I stick with the plan I do not gain.
  14. This varies person to person. In the post-op phase my nut said just get in the protein don't worry about calories. Now I eat the right size portions and do not track calories at all. It is all unique to the individual, that's why we have nutritionists imo.
  15. I use FItBit and love it! Very motivating.
  16. Great words of wisdom CG. It is true, it can pass and them re-appear. Stick to the journey and it will take you where you WANT to go!
  17. Might I suggest that take one or more of them with you to the consults and seminars. The more they know about the process, the less fear, uncertainty and doubt (AKA FUD Factor) will cloud their judgement. Buy a book and ask them all to read it. Ask them for their support to help make yourself healthier. Gather statistics about failed diets... 96% fail in the long run, and 94% succeed with Lap Band. Dot write them off yet. Never, Ever Give up! Family is too important!
  18. Welcome to the forum! So happy to hear you found a doc that will listen to you! Good luck are you continue your journey!

  21. Good for you! So consumer science is the new politically correct term for Home ec? I am and Old b***h so I took home ec and proud of it!
  22. Welcome. Lots of great people and advice here. Come back often! Post-op is not all that bad, but the rewards are amazing! Read about others and learn, and once you make you decision never look back!
  23. Oh Alex, same guy keeps asking and he never answers your questions about OS and browser.
