  1. You go girl!! Welcome to the loser's bench!!
  2. Did you try something new? Or, is the food that's coming back up dairy by any chance? I'd avoid the food(s) that are making you sick for a few days and see if you get the same reaction when you try them again. Also, it's possible that you just ate too quickly or didn't chew well enough and your sleeve is rejecting the food because it's either too full or not able to digest food that isn't chewed enough yet. Either way, I hope you find a solution soon!
  3. The only thing that STILL sticks out in my mind from post-op was that I didn't have the correct way to measure my liquid pain medicine. I only wanted ONE measly dose, but it was measured in mLs and I only have ounce measuring devices at home. I was so out of it at the time that I gave up on finding the conversion and went to bed. I still have an unopened bottle of loritab liquid that I can't find a way to get rid of legally.
  4. Congrats to both of you!! I'm sliding down two spaces so you guys can sit on the loser's bench! I hope your sister feels better quickly and it sounds like you're ready to roll with your sleeve!
  5. I'm a fan of Premier Protein drinks myself. I also like their bars for meal replacements once you're back on solid foods. Most of the other RTD protein shakes I've tried have a funky aftertaste. As I get farther out from surgery, though, that aftertaste doesn't bother me as badly. I didn't like the taste of diet soda or beer the first time I tried them either, but I got used to them. I guess it's the same principle.
  6. Well, Strange I think we'll get along just fine. I've been called strange a few times myself! Now, we need to find Blackanese... she's a member of the Nuts Club, too!
  7. Oooh, a friend of mine is building me a fishing rod in my favorite color (green). I'll have to buy some matching waders. Then, he'll have to teach me to fish!
  8. I love that site!!
  9. Anytime, Normal! I keep wanting to call you Strange, but that just doesn't look right!
  10. I think you answered your own question in the last paragraph. If you eat more, you get sick. Therefore, you're eating enough. Your capacity will increase as you get further out. You probably should weigh your food, just so that you can track whether you're getting enough Protein every day. If you aren't, then you'll need to supplement with Protein shakes or bars until your capacity increases. Good luck!!
  11. I bought a Hamilton Beach freezer at wallyworld for $30 that works great for this. I had purchased one at the thrift store, but it was too hard for me to put together and my neighbor broke the top when he came over to help me out. I figured that I wouldn't shoot him since it was only $3!
  12. I doubt that, Normal. My doctor didn't even know this forum existed until I started talking about it, so he definitely doesn't spend money supporting it, yet he is listed. I believe that Alex (Mr VST) said that they will add any doctor that isn't on the list. Just email an Admin person and they'll handle it for you.
  13. I actually found SF Torani Syrups at Walmart for about $3.48 a bottle for the little bottles, maybe 8oz? Since it only takes a couple of tablespoons of the syrup, I thought that would be a good way for me to find out which syrups I like and then I can order the mega bottles from Amazon. So far, even with making protein shakes and ice cream, even my little bottles look unused.
  14. You're doing a terrific job with that sleeve! Methinks you already need a new picture!

Chewing and spitting is an eating disorder all on its own. Don't do it, and heaven forbid that you "accidently" forgot and swallowed! Yikes!! But, good luck on your surgery tomorrow! You're going to do great!!
  16. You are definitely on your way! I already see changes in your leg, hips, arms and neck!! Great job!!!
  17. 7-11 is a great day for surgery!! I know nothing about polyps and upper GIs since I didn't have one, but I'd like to wish you luck!!
  18. Good luck!! I can't wait until you post that you're on the loser's bench!!
  19. It DOES get better, and very quickly usually. Are you taking vitamins yet? I started taking chewables as soon as I got home from the hospital and have been super high energy ever since. I don't know if the vitamins are the source of it, or if I psyched myself into that energy level, but it's there and I'm thrilled!!
  20. I actually went back to my old prescription glasses about 3 months post surgery and have been doing well with them. It's about time to have another eye exam now.
  21. Congrats!!! I'm sliding over so you can sit on the loser's bench with all of us!
  22. I'm not a June sleever, but I think this thread is a great idea!!
  23. Congrats on making a wonderful decision for yourself! Nerves are normal, especially the closer you get to surgery. Just breathe deep, do what you can about the things that are worrying you and move forward. There are no guarantees in life, but every sleever loses a significant amount of weight. Those who work at it make goal. And, this is a lifetime tool, so you can go as fast or as slow as you like. Good luck on your journey!!
  24. I love it!! You're doing great, both with your sleeve and with your head work!!! Congrats on all of the milestones you've met, and the ones that you WILL meet!!
  25. Once again, thank you all for your kind words! I can't believe someone called me beautiful! ::::: That's one word I never thought to have applied to me, but I look just like my mother and grandmother, who were both beautiful, so I should just say THANK YOU!!!
