wanting band removed now!
I would say keep complaining to your doctor they have to remove it if it really is the reason you are getting sick. The more documentation you have of it making you sick the more likely you can get it removed keep bugging them they cant let you be sick

Is my band to high?
You need to consult your doctor. If your band slipped you would be profusely vomiting. I dont think that these kinds of questions should be aswered by anyone other than a doctor. Call him with your concerns it is your right to have him go over it with you if you dont feel like something is right. Your not going to feel like you have a pouch. I still think you need to call your doctor with this question.

Marriage Advice
You really need to sit down and talk to him about it. Is he really saying those things out of jealousy or to hurt you or is he saying it because he is proud of the fact that you have lost all that weight. You need to ask him what the problem is and why he is uspset if he is about you losing weight when he is a gym rat. That doesnt make much sense when I would think he would want someone that is as fit as himself. If he is upset about you losing weight and somehow feels threatened then why? I would really ask him these things. If his intention was for you to never lose weight or be healthy then I would have to question what his intentions really were and do you really need someone like that in your life. He knew you were going to lose weight and supported the surgery so now ask him what the problem is. If there is one and you have been together a long time then I am sure he will tell you.

ok, so here it is, MY truth about the lap band....right now, anyway
Yes it can be aggravating because some days I have trouble eating all day and others I dont. Its a give and take situation. Yesterday everything I ate including yogurt got stuck but today Im on liquids again tomorrow I will try to eat. It hasnt been easy but however I dont regret it. I have lost and can excersise now. I dont really think I have another addiction since food apparently isnt one of them anymore but you have to look at it as in your not 400lbs anymore, you are healthier than you were and yes there will be some days that when its hard to eat you will want to pull that darn thing out but we have to learn to live with it because having things get stuck are not half as bad as they were when I was 250 or 285 at my highest weight.

Protein Bars?
You have to look at the sugar content on them. I would go for the higher proteins not just 10 grams

Protein Bars?
200 calries is not a lot for a snack if that is all your eating. I buy zone perfect and I havent had a problem. Of course your not going to eat 3 or four a day just one. If your breakfast, lunch and dinner is about 3 to 400 calories then a protein bar is fine that is 200 calories. But then again that is my breakfast most days.

wk 5-2 1/2 PLATEAU!
There will be weeks sometimes months the scale wont move you cant give up and I had to stop weighing myself everyday it only makes things worse. I didnt lose for six months and that was with fills. You body has been overweight for so long it has to adjust and sometimes it just stalls itself out because it was so use to consuming large amounts of calories now it is starving and doesnt want to let go of the fat. keep doing what your doing it will move eventually. Is it frustrating hell yes but we didnt gain it all in three months either. You cant take off 10 to 30 years of weight gain in a few months it doesnt work like that.

scale moving slow
slow and steady wins the race you dont want rapid weight loss
-
Did anyone else trip out at their first adjustment!?!
It really takes longer to get numb then to just get the fill. You should really be feeling anything except the initial stick once he is in the port there shouldnt be any pain if it is then he isnt doing it right.

Can't believe some people that work for Doctors
Well if you have to go just make sure that they give you a copy of the results. Telling you is one thing and then comes oh I lost your paper work. Its worth it to go just to get your own copy saying all is well.

Can you have lap band at 17?
Like everyone else you have to be ready because it is an adjustment for adults. I have faith that you can do it and will be successful as long as you want it and your not doing it for your mother. Do it because you want to. A big hug to you I know you are going through a rough time.

Big Weight Drop After Fills?
Well I am still somewhat swollen even after almost two weeks. I think I will be okay with this fill for a while I usually wait about 3 to 4 months before I decide on another fill. Thats the good thing about my dr he doesnt push fills and tells me to come in when Im ready. I get about a half to one cc at each fill and my stomach is super sensitive. I can feel it tighten when he puts the Water in so I know he is definitely in the right spot. Im kind of glad I have restriction at such little fills it makes me believe that I will be successful in my weight loss because Im not filling it up so quickly like some I see on here that want a fill ever other week. They dont even give their fill a chance to work and if they dont lose right away they want another fill. I guess they dont know what slow but steady means. If I lose on to 2lbs a month I am losing and Im not going to have my stomach strangled to 10cc's if I can get to goal with less. Im only 15 months post op and 70lbs lighter so I am happy with that for now.

"My kids just don't like vegetables!"
There are many wonderful seasonings out there that can make veggies not taste like veggies. People need to cook them with lots of seasoning if they have kids that wont eat them and then make them at least try it. I dont buy that crap my kid wont try anything new. What? Really? Children will try it if you make them. Just tell them to try it before you decide you dont like it. You make your child not try things new by not making them.

Anxiety after surgery?
Think of it as a lovely foreign object that is going to suck your waistline in and make you an awesome new person.
-
Clueless, idk what to eat
I love lloyds barbequed meat. It is shredded all of it chicken, beef, pork and one tub is about four meals for me its low in calories and moist so its not so hard to go down. You should be able to eat most things except bread. Some meats except for beef need some type of moisture and lots of chewing. I am tight and eat everything. Practice makes perfect.

Big Weight Drop After Fills?
I always lose 7lbs or even 9 after a fill the first week. I dont know I guess liquids and food are different in how it makes you lose weight. I wouldnt keep getting fills though if you are constantly losing. I want as much room as I can so when its two or three years out I will still be able to get fills. I am 15 months out and still only have 3 and 1/2 ccs in my band in a 10 cc band. but I do lose major after a fill for sure.

Trying to be patient
The only thing with the protein shakes is that your taste changes after surgery and what you might like now you may not like after surgery. I bought chocolate and banana before surgery and needless to say the banana ended up in the trash about six months after surgery because I couldnt take it. Now I drink the eas sugarfree its not all that great but it sure helps when your too tight in the morning to eat.

To fill or not to fill
I would not fill. As long as you are losing slow but steady you do not need a fill. You need a fill when and if your weight loss completely stops and I would give that platue a good two months (yes that long) you need a fill if you are starving and not losing weight. The sooner you start getting fills the less you have to work with. I see people who are two months post op with 9 cc's in a 10 cc band so what do you do after you are full. I went a whole year without one fill and lost 70lbs had one fill on dec 30 and another on March 6. My doctor told me as long as I am not hungry and losing I dont need a fill. I only have 3 cc's in my band and still have a lot to work with. The longer you wait to get a fill my dr said the more successful you will be because you have more to work with. I wouldnt be in a hurry and they cant make you get a fill if you dont want one. I say no fill.

In need of encouragement - 2 weeks post op
Plateus happen but dont be in such a hurry to get a fill. The longer you wait for a fill and keep losing the more you will have to work with. I have been banded 15 months and only have 3 and a half cc's in my 10 cc band. I was on a six month platue before I ever got one fill but lost 70lbs with no fill. Slow but steady. You may not lose every single day or even every single week but being in a hurry to get a fill is not the answer either you get filled up and then what there is nothing else left to work with.

Can't reach my therapist at the moment so ... I just need to talk about it ...
Im sorry for your loss Fran. My best friend died in January on the 8th she was only 36. She died of a massive heart attack and no explanation. I was devestated to say the least because it wasnt odd not hearing from her for a few weeks but I didnt find out until a few weeks later that she died. I didnt even get to say goodbye or anything. Losing someone we love or having a loved one ill is enough in its self to make you want to eat just for comfort. We are strong and can handle anything because after all the hardest thing was getting banded and look how far we have overcome food wise. I cant say it gets easier with time because my friend I miss her terrible. I moved 5 hours away and we planned on her coming up here after the holidays and it never happened. I got one final email from her the day before she died and wont even delete it. Hang on and stay strong. It is very hard in times like this but if we can do it now we can do it always. Hugs and love to you. Cheryl

Protein and shedding
I went to gnc and got hair, skin, and nails, my hair stopped falling out in almost a week of taking it. Nutrition is the key not just protein. You are bound to lose some hair but make sure you are taking enough supplements (vitamins) If the vitamin is too big break it in half. It made all the difference. As for the shakes try protein bars they are good. I eat zone perfect they are delicious. I wouldnt survive the day without at least a protein bar. Im not a meat lover so I need to supplement my protein intake.
