Does it take 2 or 3 weeks to recover?
For me I was up and able to go to work after one week, but Im a nanny, and my boss is a nurse and her husband a doctor so they wouldnt let me return to work until after 12 days. I am also 53 yrs old. 3 weeks seems like a long time. I was going crazy by the time I went back to work. Everyone is different.

If you go to other gastric sleeve forums and put his name in the search bar you can get info on him.

If you like Atkins shakes...
I drink the Adkins ones but add a little water and ice to make them thinner. I hate breakfast and breakfast foods so I drink this on the way to work.

Ok... so I'm putting my business in the streets
I went thru Sandy Johnston at "ALighterMe.com" Sandy did a great job answering all my questions and getting my paperwork thru. I loved Dr Kelly and his staff. The only thing you have to pay for is your airfare and tips. Everything else is covered in the $5500.00. You can pm me with any other questions. I loved my 5 days in Mexico.

Can They Do This??!
Insurance sucks!

Kaiser Cost
I have Kaiser also, in Orange County. My deductible is $3500. so I didnt even bother with them. I also had a BMI of 37 with NO commordies. My copay is $70. Isnt health insurance wonderful? I had my surgery done with Dr Ramos Kelly in TJ Mexico for $5500.00, which includes 2nights in the hospital and 2 nights in a great hotel. Let me know if you have any questions about him.

Phones in T.J.
Call your cell phone provider. I actually changed my plan to include Mexico (I have Verizon) and when I got there my phone didnt get reception 80% of the time. I ended up using Skype (on my laptop) to call (not video calls) Verizon to fix my phone. It was frustrating. My laptop came in handy when I was in Mexico.

Dr. Kelly and his staff are AWESOME! (Am writing from the hotel in TJ)
I was sleeved on July 26th by Dr Ramos Kelly. The hotel Lucerna was a $44.00 upgrade for me. I dont know where I would have been staying if I didnt pay the extra $. Trish actually took the $44. cash from me the day I arrived in TJ before my surgery. I used Sandy Johnston from "A Lighter Me".com. to book my surgery and do all the paperwork with. Trish was there in TJ, and stopped by my room that first day and also came by my hotel the first day I was there. Dr Romero and Dr Kelly came by my hotel room also. I didnt take any pain meds once I left the hospital. I walked around the area of the hotel and went down to the pool while I was there. Everyone is different though. I felt fine as soon as Dr Kelly removed that damn drain. That was the only thing that bugged me.

EFF WORD EFF WORD EFF WORD!
I too have insurance (Kaiser to be exact) and didnt want to deal with their crap so I self paid and went to Dr Ramos Kelly. Much easier than dealing with my insurance. I am thinking about canceling it and saving the $300.00 a month and use ugent care if I get sick. After paying the $300 a month I cant afford the $70. copay.

Feeling Very Emotional - Surgery Tomorrow
Oh yea..I loved that pineapple jello. The gatorade is better in Mexico too. They use real cane sugar in their drinks instead of fructose corn syrup. I suggest bringing some home if you like it. I hate the gatorade we have here in the US.

Starting to Exercise?
"Everyones" body on the inside is the basically the same....no one is healed after only 2 weeks. There is a long staple line that needs to heal all the way before you start stretching and exerting it. I doubt any "surgeon" says otherwise. We most all feel great on the outside at 2 or 3 weeks, but regardless your inside staple line hasnt healed completely until about 6 weeks.

Starting to Exercise?
I was told by my surgeron, and have read "walking' only for 6 weeks until completely healed inside.

Missing eating
I too have chewed something and spit it out. Im never hungry but eat anyway because I have to. I have eaten bites of a cookie, an ice cream cone, a piece of chocolate, stuff like that. I dont eat but a bite or so then Im full anyway. I dont care I cant eat much. Eating at buffets and over eating at bbqs etc is what made me fat so Im glad I can only eat a bit at a time. Food hasnt done anything good for me so Im glad I cant eat but a little.

$51,746 Forest Park Hospital Bill for 2 nights stay and NO COMPLICATIONS
Health insurance is such a racket. I cant even start on it......I have Kaiser and pay $306. a month for it with a $3500.00 deductible. I pay $70. just to walk in my doctors office to say "I need a refill on my medicine". Then I pay $100.00 for my Wellburtin. I went to Mexico for my surgery I didnt even deal with Kaiser. UGH!

Did any of you ever wonder...
The thing is now....we cant really go eat a couple burgers and fries and then just give up on the "diet". Our little stomachs make it almost impossible to give up.

2 weeks, 3 days out... can I drink yet?
Once again....what a couple of clowns. I never thought for a minute a "she" wrote the original post. As for judging etc. someones morals, GDC "asked" for everyone's opinion by coming on here and annoucning his intentions. Who in their right mind gets this surgery to just turn around and start abusing it 2 weeks out? Give me a break......99% of the people on here are serious about losing weight and moving onto a healthier lifestyle. The other 1% are drinking and abusing alcohol 2 weeks out.

2 weeks, 3 days out... can I drink yet?
I dont even believe this gdc (topic starter) is for real. Who in their right mind would pull such a stunt?

i made a really bad food choice tonight
I sure didnt have this surgery so that I could NEVER eat a piece of cake or a cookie.....I had this surgery so I dont eat half the cake and or 15 Oreos......no one got fat from eating 2 oreos or a slice of mousse.

I did not reach my goal :(
Ok to start with quit whining. You weigh 143? You wanted to weigh 137 ...that is 6 pounds! Not 17! You are 6 pounds off AND you are admitting to eatting a bunch of crap. Put on your big girl panties, realize how far you have come and have a salad.
