The leslie sansom videos on walking at home are very good if u want to exercise at home, u can choose between 1 mile and 4 mile programmes and u can go at your own pace, i am not a walker, i get a little bored walking, but the videos are good and i enjoy those, i also would suggest doing some resistance bands/dumbells i started off with these as i couldnt really exercise at first, u can do them sitting down in front of the tv, u build muscle tone up and this helps burn calories. I use an exercise bike as my key calorie burner now, still do strength and add in some xbox dance 3 and some abs work now .. The main thing with any exercise is to find something u like to do, and do it as regular as u can. Liking what u do keeps u doing it .. start off easy and slow and each week just build up the intensity slightly.. Cardio first then strength is always the better method. good luck and keep moving
  2. I never notice it at all, i would imagine that u may have difficulty or feel it more if u wore underwire bra's as this may press on the port a little, i tend to wear sport bra's .. Since i lost a lot of weight the port is obviously more prominent now than it used to be .. not sure what place is best to be honest .. i just know i like mine where it is ... Hope u had a good night Jachut ..
  3. My lapband surgery was a breeze compared to my c - section ..
  4. Yout tongue will get like a fur on it, making it feel bigger .. like cotton mouth if u arent eating solid food and it doesnt slough off. Protein shakes are notorious for it if u are drinking them I would use one of theose toothbrushes with the tongue brush thing on .. or chew gum If your tongue is really swollen might be an idea to call the doctor as u may have an allergy to something ..
  5. niceee hope u do ok .. i know i wont be in such good shape after all mine are nipped and tucked lol
  6. I suggest you start using weights and restance bands while u are sitting down, i started off at 400lbs and this was the only exercise i could manage for a good few months but it does burn the calories and it helps u gain muslce and that will help your metabolism. I would also look into something like a recumbent or normal exercise bike, Alot of people can manage to sit and exercise a lot easier than walking. I have used my exercise bike for over a year now and i have 2 bad knees, any non weight bearing exercise is better than none good luck and keep up the good work ..
  7. Wanting to lose 50lbs is as important you as it was to me wanting to lose 0ver 200lbs .. no one should deny the way you feel about yourself and good luck to you for doing something based on what you want and not what others think u need. The problem you have is based on needing to lose only a relatively small amount of weight, it will come off really slowly compared to others like myself, once we get to within 50 lbs of goal weight we also are slowing down too. Now is the time to make sure you get to your greenzone sweetspot ... Its a long way to travel to get a fill but until u start getting rid of the hunger pangs your emotional tyope eating wont really go away, unless u use sheer willpower. Make sure if you live alone you do not buy any food that your eyes want, stick to what your body needs and eat well and healthy. Why on earth would you have choch cake even in the house ... really thats a big NO NO lol If you want to do something to enjoy your more healthy food more then start cooking, look for low fat/low cal/low carb recipies and use the time u would be eating in front of the tv to experiment. You must become your own expert, testing out what foods work for you what dont, what food sticks what doesnt. The fills are important for the support but this is your chance to finally get rid of that sack of weight u carry around with you. You dont mention exercise i would def start looking into filling time with movement and use that as a companion and not food. Do i still get hungry after all this time, yes i do, reading posts here i do seem to eat more than a lot of people in terms of amounts as we dont measure cups here in the Uk .. I have say a soup, chicken breast 2 green veg and jello/yoghurt for my dinner .. Ijust use a smaller plate and use that as a 'measure' ... I am down to maybe 1lbs a week now for this last small amount of weight to come off and i am having to work twice as hard to even get a lb off so u may need to step it up a lot in order to get your last few lbs off too.. Change your mind regarding food and your body will follow. Food isnt your friend and shouldnt be treated as such. It needs controlling and putting in its place in our lives .. Good luck and keep working, go get a fill and see how that will help
  8. Gratz on the weight loss and keep up the good work ..
  9. Good luck for the surgery, hope all goes well
  10. I got through my liquid stage without any protein shakes at all and still dont use them. I prefer protein from whole food and stick to that. In the UK there isnt the emphasis on protein shakes like the US and we are all still alive and healthy . 6 days to go .. just muddle through, and do what u can to get your daily amounts eaten if u dont manage it dont beat yourself up over it, nothing will happen to u in such a short time
  11. Good luck and hope everything goes smoothly for you ... have a speedy recovery and enjoy the rest
  12. U need to do some good cardio ( u need to make yourself sweat )followed by some resistance / strength training, you might not be eating enough calories, most people who need to count the calories eat between 1000 and 1200 per day, so change something small and try that for a few days. Make sure you reduce your salt intake otherwise u will retain some fluid if u are drinking lots .. maybe add some tea or coffee with skimmed milk as a filler in between meals .. that will give u a little more protein and calories without going overboard
  13. Every morning and record weight every sunday morning. I got to 400lbs by not using the scales am not gonna go there again. Accountability keeps you on track...
  14. Way to go Selma good luck with the fills and losing the weight again. I wish you happiness and success
  15. U can get enough protein from other fluids, greek yoghurt mixed with skimmed milk, home made green veg soup with loads of frozen peas ( stick blended to a liquid ) u need to follow doctors instructions tho, if he says shakes only then just find one that suits you. maybe some atkins drinks / meal replacement would taste better ...
  16. Gratz on the weight loss, not long to go now till u reach your goal
  17. I too am allergic to any of the adhesive they use on strips and dressings, they used glue on the insicions and no dressings , the wounds healed fine. Call your doctor and ask if they can be removed now, u stand a chance of not healing whilst your skin is under an allerigic reaction.. I am doing patch tests at the moment to try out different makes of skin closures and dressings ready for my body lift in 2 months .. am allergic to all so far .. sigh ! Allergy is only on my body tho not arms legs etc.. good luck
  18. The more junk food you eat the more you will crave it, get rid of it out of the freezer and house. If you are hungry still then snack on food that is good for you not on food that is unhealthy and addictive. It isnt called junk food for nothing good luck !
  19. Instead of concentrating on what you cant eat people should stay focused on what they can eat and enjoy that ..
  20. I never took pain meds post op for the gas pain just drink water, walk and i used a heat pad, that helped me a lot. My appetite after the op was zero so any liquids were a struggle to get down, but it gradually gets better. Just be patient and give yourself time to heal.
  21. The breast bone position is fairly common in the UK it is stitched to the bone so there is very little chance of it moving or flipping .. I never really see it there unless i have no clothes or a bra on.. Its a breeze to do fills as all u have there is skin ! Have a speedy recovery Jachut and i really hope u do well !
  22. I get my PS on May 20th .. full body lift and arms done.. my port is on my breast bone so wont really be involved.. 5 hours on the operating table is looming over me good luck to you and i hope it all goes well !
  23. Hernia a probably the most popular of the 'stories' that people use, and removal of gallbladder, gall stones.. some of the other proceedures involving a laprascope are for things like removal of a fibroid on the outside of the womb, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, removal of adhesions from previous surgeries.. if u are stuck for one that sounds right for you just google laprascopic surgery or keyhole surgery good luck with the surgery anyways, my mum is the same age as yours she coped fine with knowing
