  1. I agree an office job most are fine within a week. It also depends on your resiliance and determination.
  2. I am sitting watching an old biggest loser US ashley says to her mother, 'but mum what if i go into the house and cant do it', mum replies, 'but what if u can' ........ that to me was a defining moment in thinking that this mountain i had to climb was just too big. Allow yourself those moments of regret then move on from them, you will look back at this time and smile believe me .. i am still smiling now !
  3. As long as u are meeting your nutritional needs baby food is good, it has measured amounts of all nutrients and low salt.. taste a little naff tho
  4. Good for you Judy ..
  5. In the grand scheme of things having a few small incisions which will fade over time to me is far more preferable than stretch marks and rolls of fat, and that doesnt even go anywhere near the health benefits side of this. Never lose sight of why you had the band done in the first place. Its very easy to look back with rosy coloured specs on and think 'things werent that bad before i got banded'.
  6. Grtaz Brian thats an awesome time.. next time faster tho
  7. Well he might not know much about vaginal itching lol ... but talk to him about the sugars anyways
  8. To be honest i dont know the reason, all i know is that i suffered badly when my diabtetes was at its worst, my diabetes has gone and so has the itching.. Vagisil worked wonders .. Make sure u wear only 100 cotton good fitting underwear too Just google it for more info ..
  9. Have u had your sugar levels tested/monitored? Intimate itching can be a side effect of high/low sugar levels. I would def watch your carb intake and sugar intake if there are no other reasons for u itching..
  10. I make green veg soup and have that every day for my lunch.. borccoli, cauliflour, frozen peas, zucchini, onion and some celery and veg stock cube, I cook till tender, leaving the florets and frozen peas to the last 5 mins of cooking then stick blender .. is filling and really good for u..
  11. I am really pleased that it went so well for you . Good luck with the weight loss and getting your life back !
  12. I am so very pleased for you, i know u have have gone through quite a bit recently and this is now your reward.. keep healing well and looking forward to seeing your new pics
  13. Good luck with your planned surgery too danielle
  14. The closer we get to goal weight the harder it is to lose it, stalls are part and parcel of weight loss over a period of time and we have to accept that sometimes out bodies just dont do what we want them to. I am stalling now i am close to goal and i admit its tedious and annoying but i change small things like a small increase in calories, change the exercise a little, i also do bike riding and strength /resistance work, i was ill one week and didnt exercise and did lots of heavy housework instead, lost 4lbs that week then back to exercising the following week and lost nothing lol.. small changes do work just experiment and see
  15. Great news and well done keep up the good work !
  16. I am having a 360 full body lift and my arms done in May its a 5 hour op.. scarey yes, needed .. oh most definititely. I have made my muslces as tight as possible doing every exercise i can to help them but skin is skin and the most advice i have been given is that no exercise in the world will get rid of it. I am not ashamed of my skin, i feel it is a badge of honour for all the weight i have lost, but i keep it covered outside the home because i know other people wont see it like i do. At least i go out now, when i was very obese i hardly went out at all, if i had to live with this skin i would .. Scars, well anyone can have scars i have had ceasarian scars for many years, ,its just the price u pay for something u want, We wanted to lose weight then we have to love ourselves for losing it and learn to live with what needs doing afterwards. I am confident pain management now is such that u may be uncomfortable post op but in pain no... u shouldnt be and those scars fade, some of the pics already on this forum show peoples recovery and how good they are looking now. I probably have some of the worst skin someone on this forum would have due to my age and amount of weight lost.. I will post pics for everyone to see and let u know how it goes .. my worst problem is losing this last 7lbs .. I am looking forward to getting rid of this skin and not worrying about how hot the summer will be
  17. I understand your frustration but u dont really make it clear why u are posting, do u want some support or just to let people know u are giving up.. We can help with support if u give a lot more details than what u have given, how much are u eating, what are you eating, what sort of exercise are you doing, how much fill in your band, do you have an addiction to food, the helpful info lets us existing banders understand what it is you are doing and how u could possibly move forward .. Most people here are long term yo-yo dieters, they lose weight and put it on and more again, a lot of us each used to gain weight every year, so you have the decision .. u stick with it and sort out what the problems are or you quit and stay as you are .. only after 3 months I doubt you have enough fills in your band.. Lapband can be for some a long slow process, but it doesnt work if u give up on it..
  18. my fills can take 2 -3 weeks to kick in
  19. You have done really well so far and only a small amount of weight to go If u lose these last few lbs u may find that your band isnt quite so restrictive anyways as it tends to loosen with weight loss over time. There are a few of us stuck within about 10 to 20 lbs to lose and weight loss is sloooooow but u learn to eat for maintenance, so u can adjust your intake depending on if u want to lose or maintain. I certainly wouldnt unfill
  20. sorry for your loss lol ... yea i wouldnt rush back to work if u can help it, i dont think its worth taking the chance of not being completely healed internally ..' just in case' is always better than 'take a chance' with stuff like this.. Glad to hear u got rid of 1 tube at least How are u doing with hospital food ? wish you well ..
  21. Most people who arent banded or know people who are banded base their opinions on news / press stories that highlight problems disasters with WLS .. its no suprise when unbanded people respond in this way. What u need to do is what pink dahlia suggests and get the knowledge to counteract their views. I would say that their opinion as friends only counts towards caring about you having 'surgery' which they should with any surgery, as for having a valid opinion about the band, nope Friends dont have to carry around your excess weight, you do .. therefore u need to be the one to decide if this is right for you .. good luck ..
  22. I have had bites of many things that one shouldnt have but a bite will do no harm and will often alleviate the craving or the need. Problems arise when its no longer one bite I am sure your mum is very proud of you, you arent continuing the journey alone, she was there at the start and maybe she felt that it was alright to go because she knew u were going to be ok now.. She will always be with you in your memories and heart. Keep the good work up and i hope that life will improve for you as u lose more weight My thoughts are with you ..
  23. good luck and pics pls i want to see them before mine later in the same month lol
  24. i have heard of some people having it stitched to a rib too
  25. I also think that a smaller plate will stop u piling the food up, i was brought up to eat what i was given and still find it hard to leave food and stop eating all the food on it, so i made it easier on myself and made my meals smaller in the first place. It does help. I used a teaspoon to eat with after cutting up things like meat.. i tended to put more on my fork if i used one. Takes a good while to get rid of long entrenched habits like not wasting food
