  1. Don't sweat the psych eval. They just want to make sure that you know what you are getting yourself into and that it's not a quick fix. They also want to make sure that if you are having care for any sort of psych problem that you are compliant with treatment. That's really it. You sound like you're doing both so I wouldn't sweat it at all.

  2. I have not had my surgery yet but I totally understand where you are coming from. There will always be people who don't agree with your decisions although you know in your heart that it is the best for you. Be true to yourself and you'll never go wrong :). Shortly you will be able to go out to eat with them and your new way of living will just become "the norm". You'll do great!

  3. You're not alone. Many people on this site are self pay, including myself. Ive been researching the Lap Band for years and while my surgery is not until September I believe it will be the best money I've ever spent. For the cost of what is essentially a used car these days I cannot fathom not going for it. But everyone has to decide for themselves. Look around, read the posts and forums. Everybody faces some challenge with their band, nothing is perfect.

  4. Also remember, YOU"VE LOST 50 LBS! Not everybody looses the same and to make yourself sick over someone else's progress is just crazy. You are YOU! You're not her and don't base your self worth or happiness on how well somebody else does. Clebrate your accomplishments and push forward. The vacation is over so just move on and take one day at a time and do you're best.
