The bariatric surgery coordinator called me with blessed news.......I GOT APPROVED!!! On September 7,2011 my new life will begin. Im not getting the support from friends but I have to do what I have to do. At this point I have torn ligaments in my right knee, the pain is horrible. For each pound of excess weight it feels like an additional 10 pounds on my legs. Im the one out of breath and in pain so I made a decision to go through with this surgery. I only wish my friends and family would understand, but hey, this is my life!!! The surgery date is right around the corner and I am so ready to get through this. I appreciate this forum it has been such a positive tool during this journey.:rolleyes:

They seem to think Im taking the "easy way out". But with all I have been through I know personally that this is one hard process!

You may not have support from your friends and family but you do have us here!!! My mother was totally against me getting banded but the morning of my surgery I saw her sitting in the admissions waiting room when I walked in! She wasnt happy about my decisoin but she was there so hopefully between now and the 7th (which is my wedding anniversary by the way :) ) some if not all of them will come around!!! CONGRATS and keep us updated!!! :)

:D I am having the surgery on the 28th I, am on my liquid diet now and I have to say it isn't nearly as hard as I thought! I am sorry to hear that you lack support on you choice, they will come around because the same thing happened to me from several friends and family members. Now everyone is happy that I am happy at beginning my new life. Hope you the best you almost there...:rolleyes:
