  2. I'm 44 and 2 1/2 months out--don't know if I would be much help but you can message me if you want
  3. i try to stay under 50--most of the time I stay under 40--now that I am getting the hang of it
  4. avoiding carbs--i seem to get a type of dumping when i have them--all the good stuff has carbs!!!!
  5. mine are... wear a wet suit and go scuba diving (and look good in it) be able to hike the 15 mile trail at yellowstone next year wear a size 6 or 8 dress to my daughters wedding in oct 2012 wear a really cute white sundress when hubby and i renew our vows on the beach of hawaii next summer
  6. yes--you should be able too---i had my surgery in tijuana and took turns driving with my hubby two days after surgery--back to TEXAS!!!
  7. I have two yesterday, a friend from high school called ME skinny--I busted out crying and freaked her out a little bit--but no one has called me skinny in thirty years NEXT my dad (bless his heart) doesn't see real good anymore--I walked into his living room the other day---and he didn't recognize me--when I said hi--he started laughing and told me he didn't know who I was--AWESOME!!!!
  8. I smoked 2 packs a day for about 28 years--I LOVED it!!! I took chantix for two weeks and quit--that was over two years ago--I haven' t wanted one since-- good luck--you will feel so much better!!!
  9. I didn't tell anyone before surgery except hubby and kids--but after I had lost about 40 pounds in the first two weeks--I started telling people. Now I even post about it on facebook. Several people have called and asked for more information on the surgery since I have had such good results. I just walk away from negative comments and think to myself that " I will show them"
  10. I used a baby's sippee cup at first--it really helped--now I just do it without thinking about it
  11. i was told for the first 6 weeks to measure everything and not rely on my body to tell me it was full--i did it for about a month--now i know by looking if it is the right amount--plus i know three bites is plenty and four will make me miserable--i also sneeze when full or when i take to big a drink. be sure you are taking your acid reducer to avoid feeling hungry--i haven't been hungry since surgery and am really loving it!! you have to get over the head hunger!!! it is hard but every time you reach for food ask yourself if you REALLY want it or are you bored, stressed, etc. if you do that consistently you will be able to tell yourself that it is only head hunger and it will stop--
  12. I don't know about anyone else--my "want" is still there for the bad stuff--but once I get it in my mouth--it doesn't taste very good--so I usually spit it out--I hope it is retraining my body to not want it any more--who knows-- I also have dumping, so they really don't seem to be worth the trouble. the jealous people are interesting to deal with--my whole family are really big women--they don't have insurance and can't afford to pay for it on their own--they just keep making little comments like--"oh yea, you are looking good, but anyone could that had surgery" "you took the easy way out" etc, you get the idea--some of them I am ignoring and some of them I am confronting--depending on who it is and what they say. I am really working on getting right in my own head and my own skin--maybe then the comments won't bother me so much...
  13. I am two months out tomorrow--I can eat about three or four bites of whatever--about 1/4 of a hamburger is a good example I don't measure my food anymore--I just know three or four bites is it--I drink pretty much normal now--your tummy will let you know if you are drinking too fast--but, all in all, I am pretty much normal now--just don't eat much!!!
  14. my legs and butt are gone!!! I was standing doing dishes earlier and realized that no part of my legs or butt were touching my sweat pants--I tell everyone that I loose from the ground up
  15. I only had to do liquids for two days before surgery. I lost about 10 pounds before...

  17. Well--tomorrow is two months since surgery--and WOW what a two months it has been!!! I was so scared to have this surgery--but it has been the best thing I have ever done!!! I am down 55 pounds and have went from a tight size 24 to a nice fitting 14/16. My knees feel wonderful!!! I walk 3 miles a day and have tons of energy!!! I had a stall that lasted for three weeks, but the scale started moving again, so I am happy!! I'm no sure what broke the stall, but I am happy it started moving again. I am learning to deal with jealous people (slowly) and learning to be comfortable in my own skin (taking longer). I can eat anything (except sweets)--which I didn't need anyway--My restriction is about three bites--(thanking God everyday for that kind of restriction) I can't drink Protein Drinks (the smell makes me gag)--but I am getting as much as I can from food. I can drink tea and Water all day long-(most days) I have gave most of my old clothes away ad been gifted a bunch of new ones yippee Now, on to onederland and single digit clothes!!!!!

  19. I get it--I tried to "lube" some peanut butter up because I was having trouble getting it down--so I lubed it with syrup (one of my fav combinations pre-op) I thought I was dying!!! I have tried syrup a few other times and find I just can't do it!!! I don 't get it with carbs at all--but also had it when I tried to eat a BITE of cake--guess I needed it like miss diva!!!
  20. he is wonderful--the night after my surgery was that big blackout in mexico and california--he came to my room, sat down and talked with me and my hubby for 2 hours!! he talked about america and mexico and the differences and the similar things--it meant a lot to me---btw-the hospital had generators and i never knew about the blackout until he mentioned it!! he is a wonderful man you will never feel like he has something else to do!!
  21. I had a reduction about 15 years ago--the only thing I can tell right now is that they are not as perky as before--a little saggy--but overall--I haven't lost anything in them yet--still waiting--I am hoping to be completely flat chested when this is all over with
