Soup Ideas?
Hello Guys Im a little under the weather and Im really craving some hot soup. im about a month and a half out and am very restrictive with carbs so all my go to comfort soups like chicken noodle are off limits. After the 4 weeks of liquids I kinda never wanna see broth again, so do you guys have any ideas for a high protein low carb comfort soup for a sick fella?

Please Tell Your Gastric Sleeve Surgery Hospital Stories/experiences!
I LOVED my hospital experience. I actually work in the hospital where my sleeve was done and it was fun having all the nosy people I know from there coming up to me asking me "what's wrong, are you ok?" Im not shy about telling people about my sleeve but I had to have fun with them and tell them I was there for a circumcision reversal. :biggrin5: I was nervous going into the OR, there is a lot of people in there and they didn't really have time to get to know you so It was like "hey how ya doing Im so and so and im gonna inject you now" When I woke up I was still groggy and the pain hit me hard when I wasn't sleeping but it was much better after the meds. My pain wasn't like someone hitting you it was more like pressure in the gut, the gas maybe. Anyhow after that I just had to deal with the dry mouth and THIRST. All of my pals from the hospital came by two at a time and I was the center of attention from a lot of pretty nurses. I was up walking as soon as possible. And happy that everything was a success and that after the waiting that one part of the journey was over and I was on to the next one. The only thing I would have did different was bring some chap stick.

In The Mood
You sure youre not pulling the old 'I got a headache routine?' JK. Im not sure if weight loss affects women's libido like it does us guys. I know they get a lot more flexible :biggrin5: . When we lose we replace estrogen(female hormone) with testosterone(man juice) it feels good in oh so many ways

In The Mood
Anybody else notice since dropping some weight that you are well, always ready to go in the bedroom? Since Ive lost I am insatiable. I just nod towards the bedroom and my girl is like "awwww not again". Is this a testosterone boost or is it just since the weight is coming off you are 'up' for more excercise. P.S Mr. Willy has returned in all his glory since the losing. I def have more usable equipment!

Does Any One Else Not Like The Feeling Of Food In Their Gastric Sleeve?
Im a month out and still get this feeling. Its kinda like I can feel the food up to my throat. If I didn't have to eat I would skip it. Liquids go down just fine and im addicted to powerade zero now.

That Last 2 Lbs........
If you are working out vary your routine. The body is a tricky beast and it can get used to your workout schedule and plan accordingly so you want "starve", it harks back to our caveman days. If you are doing cardio, switch to some weight training. I have found that a heavy leg workout with weights (largest muscle group in the body) will shed lbs overnight!

1 Month With Gastric Sleeve Surgery Today!
Well, I can't believe it has been a month already! I must say this vsg thing is probably the best decision I have ever made. All my health problems (impending diabetes, sleep apnea) are gone! I kinda knew it would happen but not this fast. My doc says I have lost more than double what he had projected me to lose at 47 pounds in one month! The best part is that I feel like I am no longer ADDICTED to food. I still see friends or family eating all those delicous, greasy treats and I really miss pringles for some reason, hmmm. But I don't feel like I NEED food like i used too. In fact I am never hungry. The biggest part was seperating cravings from hunger which I was never able to do. Im like a giddy little girl when 4 teaspoons of tuna (smart balance mayo) fills me up, its so weird. I used to eat like 5 pork chops and mashed potatoes so this is a big change! The biggest thing I wanted to say is THANK YOU to my VSG family. You guys guided me through the ups, the uncertainty, the nervousness and the fear. I feel like I want to be a success not just for my family and my self but all of you. Now Im gonna figure out how to change that ticker. 47lbs!!! PS; My pants fell down at work today. I think at the very least its time for a belt :blush5:

Update
Hello Guys, quick update on me. I am down 42lbs and though I have about 60 to go for my goal the difference is EXTREME. My bloodwork is all in the normal range from prediabetic and higher cholesterol i am taking stairs two by two and not even winded and if I can toot my own horn things in the bodoir are spicier than ever. I still have little to no hunger which is insane coming from a guy who was always waiting for his next meal. Im on mushies and the only concern i have had with eating thus far is that I have gained a touch of anxiety when it comes to eating. I always feel like I will gain back every pound whenever I eat, Im gonna talk to my analyst about that as I would hate to develop an eating disorder. All and all I couldn't be happier and im looking forward to my new future. I will post pics when I reach goal. Not having a big problem with loose skin yet, but I have lost a lot of muscle mass from my chest and biceps which was something I was hoping to avoid.

Help from the Ladies
Hello Ladies I hope you can forgive my intrusion into your sanctuary, but I needed some advice. My lady friend has been my ROCK through my sleeve process. She bought all my supplies, did my two week liquid diet with me slept on a cot at the hospital and refuses to eat any food around me so she wont tempt me. (she even drives to her moms for dinner and drives home) Anyway I want to do something special for her to let her know how much it means to me. I bought her a really cool tennis bracelet and want to give it to her, the problem is I can't bring her out for a nice dinner!! I can't go into Chez Expensique and order mushy confit, I wish. So where do I take her and tell her how much she means to me? I was thinking one of those central park horse carriages but it seems a bit cliche, any suggestions welcome.

Help for loose skin
There is an African book store in my town that sells some great relics and interesting books. I was in there looking around after vsg and came upon this creame made from Shea Butter. The woman told me it was a natural cure all for skin it takes care of acne, stretch marks and loose skin. I purchased a tube (only 7.00) and have been using it, I must say the stuff is GREAT. My skin is smooth and tight and there really are fewer stretch marks. I did some research and apparently this stuff is the real deal!

In the club!!
Thanks guys, it means a lot. Ian Dr. Papasavas is great. I was a little slow waking from anesthesia (great sleep) and he hung around until after 7 just to tell me how things went. He told me I had one of the smallest sleeves he had done and he was very proud of the work. I lost 17 on the ten day post op and 15 more after two weeks! it's melting off and NO hunger.

In the club!!
Thank you all guys, Im happy to be on the losing team! Ian, I actually work at Hartford Hospital so I know Dr. Tischler and Dr. Papasavas quite well. I chose to go with Papasavas just because of his exceptional bedside manner. They are both PHENOMENAL doctors, but Tischler is a little cocky and tends to talk over you. Im not working on tuesday, but if you need anything just inbox me and I can get it up to your room. Its good to have a little pull :ihih:

In the club!!
Hello Guys Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I was sleeved in late October and just took sometime away from work and everything to really prepare for this journey. You all have been my strength and motivation and I would have went nuts a looong time ago if I didn't have you all to lean on. Surgery went great and Im among the lucky ones as I have had ABSOLUTELY NO hunger. Im here to answer any questions for people prepping and im still checking in with all my vsg friends. Lovin the view from the losers bench.

I LOVE SMOKING, there I said it....
This is what I had to do. My doc was refusing to operate if I failed a blood test for smokes. PC or not I LOVE SMOKING. But I love being around for my kid a lot more.

won ton soup
hey exoticheart I think that's egg drop soup. Won ton is the one with the thick folded noodles with a little piece of pork inside of them.

won ton soup
Hey Guys Is won ton soup considered a mushy stage food? I am a huge texture nut and the thought of eating pureed meat and the like kinda grosses me out. i was trying to think of some foods that I like that are naturally mushy and won ton soup came to mind. I checked it on fit day, the calories aren't bad and it has more of the good fat than the bad, though its kinda high in carbs. Question is, will it go down smoothly if well chewed in the mushy phase? Any other ideas that don't involve blending a steak would be appreciated too
