  1. a week isnt too bad. id probably wouldhave my hair pulled out and nails bitten off by then but not too bad! ive heard 2-3 weeks before. lol. im really praying for dec 19th or 20th. its PERFECT for my schedule & my mom went ahead & took off work. also, it gives my insurance time to approve me! i work with kids so id only have to take 1 week off work dec 19th-23rd & then schools are out from dec 26th - jan 2nd & id go back to work on jan 3rd which consist of driving & walking. i think i could manage well. lol. only issue might be buckling their seat belts.
  2. with my dr, i was required to get all my testing done & then once all my testing was complete & i was cleared, then they schedule me to meet the surgeon & then schedule my surgery date the day of meeting with my surgeon. as far as testing, i was required to get a chest xray, blood work, psych eval, sleep study, upper gi, cardiac clearance (cardiologist), approval from primary dr & thats it. some people are required to go to a pulmonologist (i think thats how its spelled) to check for blood clots. i had got all my testing done the 1st month except cardiac clearance. she wanted me to wait until the 5th month which is this month & i got it done & had it sent in already! i also meet with my pcp every month along with meeting my nutrionist every month (6month supervised diet). dec 1st makes my 6months complete. if u have all ur testing complete, u may be getting a date when you have your consultation with your surgeon. good luck love! keep us posted!
  3. the hospital called me today & changed my date to meet with my surgeon to the 29th of november which is when ill schedule my surgery date. my 6th month insurance required appt is dec 1st. im praying to be sleeved on dec 19th or 20th. QUESTION: • how long after submitting your papers to your insurance were you approved? • how long after being approved were you sleeved? i talked to my nurse practioner who talked to the surgeon & he said its realistic to get sleeved by then. im so nervous that i wont get my desired dates.
  4. my 6th month appt is dec 1st & im praying to be sleeved on dec 20th! i see everyone is getting sleeved a month after getting approved. any specific reason?
  5. just curious, what made u wait til jan 2012? my 6th month appt is dec 1st & im praying to be sleeved by dec 20th!
  6. hey! i dont see a signature. can u send me ur link! thanks!!
  7. wow! great idea! i wish you guys all the best<3
  8. hey! welcome i am looking forward to possibly being sleeved on dec 20th! i dont want anything past dec 20th because i want to be home for the holidays and not in the hospital! im very excited about this! i pray that im approved and become a big "loser" like everyone else. weight has become such an issue & its my worst enemy at this point. i just want to be sleeved already!!! good luck with everything & im sure we will speak soon
  9. thats great! god bless u guys
  10. i think i will have the same exact issue but thats what got me where i am today! i know the sleeve will save my life, my lifestyle, my confidence, my future & everything else! i know that i hate what ive become and im looking forward to being how i used to be. this wasnt a long response, it was a PERFECT response! thank u for taking the time to share your story!
  11. im sorry u had a difficult time.. what happened if u dont mind me asking?
  12. its funny u should say that. anybody who is a supporter in my group plays a role but none of them really understand what im going through so i reached out & found people who have had the surgery! to me, those are my real supporters. for example: my mom: take care of me & make sure im ok. my bestfriend(zumba instructor): i can vent to my boyfriend(personal trainer): i can work out with 1 or 2 other friends: can check up on me and those r the only people who know that im having it done. none of them know what im going through. all of them think i want the surgery but dont understand that i NEED it. i can see them saying to themselves (maybe even having the balls to say to me) "you did this to yourself", if i ever complained about this. this is why this website is so great. EVERYONE understands EVERYONE!!!! i also have a youtube vlog!
  13. i am also praying to be sleeved on december 20th!
  14. congrats! i havent been sleeved yet but ive read that those pains arent hunger pains, they are gas pains but feel like hunger!
