  1. good luck to you & i hope it works out. how long did it take you to get an approval from your insurance from the day u submitted your papers
  2. SCARY!!! i hope you feel better soon! and congrats on your pregnancy!
  3. VERRRY TRUE! everything happens for a reason and it may have juat been a blessing in disguise! im glad it all worked out for you! ive only seen my surgeon but have yet to talk to him. everytime i see him, i feel like hes a celebrity! i so badly want to jump up and talk to him and just i dont know. hes saving my life! he feels like my hero! ive met a lot of patients who call him a "god" and a "legend". i so badly want to meet him!
  4. stay positive! be forward. tell your dr that youre disappointed that 2 appts have been cancelled & is there anything else that needs to be done before theres a 3rd cancellation! id be highly upset if i were you!
  5. wooooow. i cant imagine the stress you mustve been under! thats bananas! thats actually shocking because id think they would want the money! but i guess because they are so busy, maybe they didnt care. thankfully, i have faith in my drs office. they seem to have it together. my nurse practioner who is the coordinator seems to be very hands on. but best to believe, if they start bs'ing me, ill move on to the next office. they are affiliated with another big hospital that does it & the staff goes back & forth between both hospitals. i pray all goes well.

  7. i cant believe it! 2 more days until i meet my surgeon & 4 more days until my 6th month process is up!
  8. Protein shakes are your go to, always! you cant go wrong with them. i only know all of this because my boyfriends a bodybuilder. now im not saying live on shakes but there is nothing wrong with drinking shakes. they are very healthy. im praying to be sleeved in december and im not afraid of the surgery or pain but im afraid of facing this disease.
  9. the less Protein you take in, the less weight you will lose because your body is holding on to the fat for dear life. if your body knows that theres more coming in, it wouldnt mind burning the fat thats stored. i hope this helps
  10. the trick is to make all your testing appointments asap and get them out the way. i completed all my testing within the first 3 weeks of starting my process. only thing that i waited for was cardiologist and that was because they wanted me to wait until my 5th month to get that testing done. i remember at a support group, i met this lady who completed her 6 month diet but was procrastinating on completing her testing. it completely CONFUSED me! i couldnt understand how someone could decide to have WLS and finish the 6 months but still not finish testing. i guess she didnt want it that bad. i wasted absolutely NO TIME!!! i feel like im going to the drs every other week but its worth it
  11. im praying to be sleeved by dec 20th. i meet my surgeon tuesday and hopefully ill get a tentative date. dec 1st marks my 6months so they send my stuff over to my insurance and i wait!
  12. thank you so much. its such a blessing to have all you guys to support me in my journey!
  13. i work with kids so itll be perfect during christmas break to recover so i know exactly how u feel. as far as the deductable, YIKES! that must be stressful. i love your goals! soon, we will be mean sleeved fat burning machines!!! i pray i get approved! lol
  14. hey! i know waiting sucks but its honestly not that bad. at first, the thought of waiting 6 months made me want to jump out a window! dec 1st marks my 6th month appt and i cant believe it! just stay busy, read and research! everyday i learn something new as i research! start a vlog on youtube to keep you busy! thats what i did. with the health problems you have, i would recommend staying local. good luck to you and your journey! stay positive
  15. NEW YEAR 2012 GOALS 1. love my sleeve (hopefully ill be sleeved before new years). 2. lose weight. 3. make a lifestyle change. 4. get off my meds. 5. work out. 6. get back into school. 7. love me. 8. help others that were once in my shoes!!
  16. hey guys! dec 1st marks the end of my 6 month supervised diet. im meeting my surgeon nov 29th & hopefully, ill get a surgery date that day although they cant submit my papers until dec 1st! i wanted to know.. 1. how long did you wait before you got approved? 2. how long after your approval did you get sleeved? im PRAYYYING that im sleeved by dec 20th! every year, i think EVERY human makes the new year goal to lose weight. the thought of having surgery and actually losing weight just makes my heart smile & gives me butterflies! theres NOTHING in this world that i want more than to have this surgery. what are your new year goals as a sleever? stay blessed guys & i look forward to reading your replies. plz pray for me! <3
  17. oh ok! then u should be good! drs know best! i work with kids so i would love to be sleeved either dec 19th or 20th so that i can automatically have off the following week! it just works out perfectly!! im praying
  18. i completed all my testing & submitted everything that needed to be completed. i assume that ill be getting my surgery date tuesday! i cant believe it!! as far as flying, have u spoken to ur surgeon or dr about that? i read once that airplane rides can give you bloodclots & you def wanna be cleared for flying. good luck to you! <3
  19. i meet my surgeon on tuesday & thursday is my 6month mark!!! im praying to be sleeved by dec 20th!
  20. yikes... i know the feeling though. i remember losing weight from a diet & everyone said i was so skinny but i felt huge!
  21. i drink nectar! its the only one i can tolerate. i drink lemonade but i also like fruit punch & i think i liked sour apple. my boyfriend loves fuzzy navel & strawberry mousse.
  22. welcome sharon! you have definitely found the right place to ask these questions!! well, with most (maybe all) insurances require a BMI of 35+ with a co-morbiditie or 40+. if aetna (which i hear is a real pain in the a$$) says that you need 2yrs history, than you will need that & if you dont have 2yrs of history stating you have BMI of 35+ with a co-morbiditie or 40+ with no health issues, you more than likely will not be approved. im sorry! you could always TRY but understand what may be ahead. as far as self pay, you should talk to the receptionist at the hospital where you originally planned on getting the procedure done. also, you can research having it done in Mexico. it sounds crazy but sooooo many ppl do it & with the same drs. ive heard great stories. do your research on it & see what are the best options for you! good luck
  23. god bless you! how long did it take for your insurance to approve you? i pray to be sleeved by dec 20th. good luck to you & keep us posted!
