I have been freezing cold. Couldn't get warm last night..... I figure it is hormonal as well as anesthesia....

I add lemon crystal light to vanilla flavored protein... Orange works well too.

Hi. I had surgery on Tuesday. The nausea immediately postoperative was horrible but they gave me plenty of meds and when I woke up it was gone. I have had no trouble since. I have managed to get my liquids and protein today but it has been agonizingly slow. Room temperature or warm is far better than cold. I have some incisional pain but have not had pain med since last night and I only took it then cause I couldn't get comfortable to sleep. I am going back to full work on Monday and don't think it will be a problem. Everyone is different. I feel very blessed!

Thank u all for the support. I cane home yesterday and so far do good! It is so weird not to be hungry at all. I am truly having to remind myself to drink.... Wow

I got discharged today and had to head straight to the opthomologists office.... I have an erosion of my cornea.... Probably from a poorly healed old injury but worsened by dry eye during surgery.... It has been more painful than the surgery itself. I am burping a lot and still have diarrhea.... Wish that would end, but otherwise doing pretty well. I definitely appreciated the extra day of iv fluids.

Well, surgery is over and so far it hasn't been too bad. Nausea immediately after surgery was horrific but has subsided a lot. I have already walked a mile today. Man, walking helps a lot! Leak test in am then I get clear liquids.

I am on my way to hospital now... Praying for u!

Thank u all for the support. Just had a long productive cOnversation with my husband and for the first time feel a ton of support and that he really does understand the changes fixing to take place in my life..... He says I am a lot more at peace about it than he but he supports my decision. Will be headed to hospital at 500 in am.....

So I am scheduled for surgery at 7:15 in am. Haven't seen my husband since last wednesday and he comes in and says.... You look like u have already lost weight... I said I had since I had been on prep diet.... His response.. Can't u just do that forever... Not what I really needed to hear. I have already been questioning myself... I think mostly out of fear of what if I fail at this, too?! I know I will fail if I don't do this.... But it is scary!

Just found out I am first... Be there at 5:30.... Surgery at 7:15.... Even better.... No more antibiotics... Just some mag citrate in a little bit....

I am struggling.... My dr is requiring a bowel prep with multiple doses of 2 antibiotics.... I can't keep the first dose down..... Ugh.... I have to call at 3 to find out what time I have to be there tommorrow...... Hope it's early....

I am with you. Started liquids Friday and had a terrible headache. Today I am much better. I drank a protein shot today.... Don't know if that's what helped or the fact that i had a ton more liquids. I am also loving sugarfree popsicles.... Made some with my crystal light.... Gives me something with flavor to chew. I hope your headache gets better quickly! That is miserable, but it will all be worth it!

U can definitely still have the surgery. First of all insurance usually covers the biopsy. But still, the OR would have to be prepped accordingly, meaning u would probably be a first case. There are other meds that can be used; that's why it's so important to know and prevent the associated problems. U should definitely mention to your surgery so that u could have biopsy done if insurance covers and not have your surgery delayed.

Girl, I understand completely. I realized today that it is 1 week away, too,and I became very anxious. When they called to schedule my preadmission testing, I freaked out. I am getting very anxious. I am the sole provider for my family and am really struggling. My insurance isn't covering the procedure, so I don't even know if my life insurance would pay if something were to happen. At the same time, I know it is very unlikely for there to be a serious complication, and I need to do this for my family so I can be more active with them. I also need to do it so I can maintain the work I do for the next 20 years in order ot continue to provide for them. We need to do this, we will do this, and it will all be ok! That is my mindset right now! Ask again tommorrow after my last preop appt and preadmission testing and I am may be freaking out again.

I did the exact same thing, and my surgery is scheduled for July 26th. I don't have any clothes that are even tight now,because I had given in to the fact that I wasn't going back down and most likely was going up. Gonna have fun shopping! I am ready to walk in the closet and not have anything to wear but feel good about it instead of the discouraged feeling I know so well.

I am schedule for surgery on July 26th and have been doing the same thing. Got my Sunkist shots in today and was pleasantly surprised. I can drink the orange and grape very well. I am very pleased and will be getting more to have enough for after surgery.

Different colorings in food can cause this. For instance, grape coolaide or powerade causes bright green stools.
