Gross Question!

Ok....I'm embarrassed to ask....but has anyone had issues with green diarrhea? I've been having it for 2 days now. My doctor didn't seem to have any concerns or answers, and I realize diarrhea is common, but it's really green. Which, what I can find online means your body is passing the food through too soon without digestion.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this, and if they got an answer from their doctor.

Sorry for the blunt grossness!

Different colorings in food can cause this. For instance, grape coolaide or powerade causes bright green stools.

Oh my gosh....I didn't even think about grape koolaid!! The doctor asked if I was eating or drinking anything green and I couldn't think of anything at all......You're right the powder to make the SF grape koolaid does have a green tint.

LOL.....I never even considered that! I think that answers my question and I can stop worrying about it.

If you are taking iron that can make it green.

I have a friend who worked at a hospital ER room, she relates a story about a mother and daughter who came in complaining of green poop and cramps. After a lot of questions that got no where they took blood tests and an x-ray and asked if one or both could provide a sample. It was green - florescent green, far to green to be caused by natural causes. After more questioning the finally fessed up to eating 3 whole packages of Christmas cookie dough - EACH, the stuff with the green Christmas tree in the center! The cramps were just their colons getting packed up with the raw dough.

My pooh has has been dark green since my VSG on May 17. I assumed that was normal and never thought to ask about it.
