  1. Welcome home and congratulations !! Looking forward to hearing about the day !
  2. Good morning ! In addition to all of the Band rules (protein first, no Water with meals, etc) I want to start a blog. Age 47 and not only is the first forum I've ever posted on - I've never had a blog. Times are a changin ! One of the 'rules' I've given myself is to post daily here (making myself contribute even if just to say thank you to someone). Another 'rule' I want to give myself is a blog. Figure it would be cheaper than therapy Any tips on how to get started? Thanks !
  3. Good morning July Bandsters ! Hope the July 1 bandsters had a good night and are ready to start sipping their liquids. And to those who are on the pre-op of liquid ... I am really getting nervous about this part of the journey - start on Tuesday. Spending some time this morning trying to figure out how to put together a blog. I will need something to do with my hands to avoid eating ! Any tips on starting a blog would be appreciated
  4. Here's hoping that your new insurance covers WLS or at least complications. All I can say is that if it is covered get it done. I've been with my current company and if I had gotten this done 3 years ago, WLS would have been covered at 100%. If I had gotten it done last year - WLS covered at 50% but now WLS is still at 50% but now I have a $1000 copay for any outpatient procedure and anesthesia has an additional 25% copay. I need to get this done this year before more copays are added !! Good luck to you !

  6. Welcome to posting, Sheri ! I think it's good that you've been in 'think' mode for a good period of time. You'll be so committed once you have the surgery !
  7. My only tip is to read this board ! It is full of helpful information, successes .... congratulations on making this decision !
  8. Yes, finally !! I started this process back in February thinking that I would be done with insurance and testing by May. Well, by April I knew that May was not possible and it would most likely be July. And, ta-da ... July is finally here. Of course, I am closer to the end of the month (7/21) but I'm happy to rip June off the calendar. I'm scared too. Ill be one day behind you on the pre-op diet ... we can do this !
  9. Rachel - I'm going to memorize your example - thanks so much for sharing it !!
  10. so thankful to those willing to share .... hope everything works out for you, Ken.
  11. Thanks, everyone ! I only have to do protein shakes for pre-op and only first two weeks of post op. My surgeon does not want us to drink shakes after the two weeks so hopefully I'll be okay but appreciate the link, Johnny

  21. The very last thing I did (before insurance submission) was see the nutritionist. By then, I had been reading the boards, blogs, etc so I got to ask questions rather than take in all that much info. Yes, it would have been overwhelming to me if I had not been prepared. Good luck to you !
