  1. No, He decided after the surgery because I had so much scar tissue. Ask away - I'm happy to help. E-mail me if ya want at: Puppypaws1957@aol.com I don't understand the private messages on this forum too well. Terry
  2. Yes, just one night. And I think it was because the Dr. was being super careful.
  3. What is it? I have a mass on my esphagus that will be checked out. Is that what you are talking about?
  4. My second band is working beautifully! I'm glad I had the surgery again.
  5. I was always hot in the winter too. All that heating - whew!
  6. Katie - it happened to me. Used to always be hot! Drove my husband nuts. Now, I feel comfortable most of time - even in Summer. And I haven't even lost that much weight. 50 lbs more or less. It was one of the NSV that I hadn't even thought of. I'm sure you will be one of the lucky ones. :-)
  7. My second time was much worse, but there were reasons for that. He had to scrape away a lot of scar tissue 2nd time around and he also removed a hernia. My 1/2 hour surgery ended up being 4 hours. I think this is the exception though and suspect you wil be just fine.
  8. I've used mine twice. First time was at IHOP. I ordered off the chilcrens menu - 1 egg, 1 slice of bacon and a pancake. I ate the egg and the bacon. Server wasn't going to take it, but hubby intervened. Second time was at Marie Calendar. I had a 1/2 sand and bowl of Soup. Ate the soup and the tuna from the sandwich. They were very gracious and accepted the card no problem.
  9. I was banded 12/13 and have lost 51 lbs. Dr. put saline in my band during surgery. Had one fill, but had to have it all removed while still at Dr's office because I couldn't even keep down Water.
  10. Also, check out the board "Lap Band Complications". I bet they have good insights that may help you!
  11. Hi - I think it is the same thing. But you still may have something wrong with your band. Don't give up! It took me almost a year. My Dr. said "There is nothing more that I can do for you. You need to see a psychatrist". Actually, I would like to have counseling for my eating disorder. But you also see - there was something wrong with the surgery that was done. Don't give up!!!!
  12. Please get a upper GI from your Dr. I am now on my second band. I did everything right the first time around and also lost very little weight. It took an upper GI to show that my buckle wasn't connected. That is when I had my second surgery. Now I am losing weight. Slowly, but surely, the weight IS coming off. There are problems with the band that are mechanical. Please have your Dr. check it out. My self-esteem took a real blow during all of this. I had told everyone I was having surgery and then didn't lose weight. If it is mechanical, you need to get it fixed NOW. If it isn't a mechanical problem, the Dr. can help there too. Bands can fail thru not fault on our own. Let me know how you are doing. ((((HUGS)))) Terry
  13. I doubt you set yourself back 3 whole months. With the lap band we need to learn what we can eat/how much, etc. Like Jennifer1 said we all do it. That is how we LEARN. I ate pizza last night. Knew I couldn't eat Pizza, but I tried it again and was sicker than a dog.(Or a puppy in my case - LOL). I had tried it before, but it seems I had to keep proving it to myself. Now I KNOW I just can't have Pizza and won't try it again. As long as you learn, you'll be OK!
  14. It is all a learning process and I think you have learned a valuable lesson.
  15. I've lost 50 and I don't even notice the difference. So many people know I have the band (my 2nd one) and they are just being kind. First place I lost was in my face and it is quite noticable there. I'm down from a tight 3X to a good fitting 2X so haven't lost much in clothes either. It's funny how things work. I could lose just one more pound and people may notice. It is like they don't notice and then suddenly they do notice! Like I said, people say they notice and I am getting lots of positive reinforcement. Talk about good friends.
  16. I'm a J cup and it looks like the boobies are going to be the LAST area I'm going to lose. Good Job Lose 100!
  17. I think that a lot of times that people tell us we have lost too much weight because they are so used to seeing us fat, when we reach a good weight they think we look to thin. Say my normal weight if I had never gotten fat would have been 110 (This is just an example to show a point). If everyone was used to seeing me at 110, they would think I was just petite. But if I had been 300 lbs and lost my weight and became 110 people would think I lost too much weight. Even though that might have always been the right weight for me. I hope you are able to follow my example. This is what I think happens.
  18. I ate some during the mushie phase.
  19. I used to belong to that site. Then I found this one and LOVE it. So much more honest and loving over here.
  20. I can't eat bread either and can't even fathom having enough room for a Big Mac, pizza or submarine sandwich. Of course they all have bread, so I couldn't eat them, but I wouldn't have room for any of it - even without the bread!
  21. Good for You! You are doing spectacular! Don't think I could have done it. The donut might not have stayed down, but I don't think I would have been as strong as you!
  22. Great! When was your birthday? July 6? I am struggling to get to my 50 lb loss. Keep hovering at 47-48 lbs lost, but it will come!
  23. I had it, but it did go away.Terrible feeling isn't it?
  24. Some people, like me, physically can not eat them. I hope you can.
  25. I also have very small ankles. In fact, framewise I am very petite. Since you don't have "tankles" I think you would like it.
