  1. good common sense and a workable plan - way to go!!!
  2. great blog and i believe you will do it - GO FOR IT!!!!!!!
  3. I feel for you - I used to be on pins and needles every time the dr.'s office called or the insurance people - today was the first day of my pre-op diet - i'm being banded july 5 - you'll be in my shoes soon best of luck!!!
  4. I started my pre-op diet today (surgery July 5). It's 2 weeks - 3 protein shakes a day, 2 lien cuisines per day (or equivalent - smart ones etc.) and up to 2 cups vegetables per day. It's really not bad compared to what I'm seeing on here... Good luck to us all - would be nice to lose about 7-10 pounds going into the surgery so the pre-op diet will be good for that!
  5. GREAT BLOG!!! and congrats on the losses -keep up the good work!!!
  6. I am being banded July 5 and I start my pre-op diet tomorrow! Mine's 3 protein shakes - 2 lien cuisine meals or equivalents, and up to 2 cups vegetables each day for next 14 days. My fridge and freezer are stocked and i got my chewable vitamins to start tomorrow as well (may as well start getting used to the vitamins). I fear losing diet pop - i'm going water or water and crystal light or equivalent from here on out. I'm a huge diet pop drinker - have been for many many years. I'm 37 with a husband and 5 year old son. I was thin and beautiful until college - and i started gaining weight - about 5-10 pound per year since. I'm looking to lose 10 on the pre-op diet and another 130 after that. WE CAN DO IT JULY BANDSTERS UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. i have the same question - i'm being banded july 5 and practically live in my backyard pool with my 5 year old son - hope we can get in the pool soon after!! would settle for 2 weeks post surgery max!
  8. clear liquor with calorie free and carbonation free mixer - remember carbonation - even zero calories carbonation - stretches the pouch defeating the purpose of the surgery - so i like your crystal light idea - that's what i plan to do (or get absolute with water and a lemon or lime and squeeze the lemon/lime into it)
  9. I'm being banded July 5 too!!!!! I'm not nervous - but I think about it all the time (and giving up diet pop I think will be the hardest thing)! Good luck to all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I'll be banded July 5. I already "warned" my surgeon that even if I'm losing if I'm super hungry all the time I'm still gonna want a fill and he said he understood and woudn't keep me from a fill under those circumstances.
  11. great post and good luck on the skin surgery!!!
  12. great blog post and keep up the great work!!!
  13. at last a feel good - positive post - just what i needed as i countdown (28 days) to surgery - thanks and keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!
  14. I like it - good information and good post. I actually really hope you're right that the ones complaining on this site about not losing are truly breaking the rules - I want that to be true since I want the opposite to be true as well (if I follow all the rules to a T I will definitely lose weight on the band).
  15. oooooh i will miss me some pizza - getting banded july 5. loved your post - keep it up!!!!!!
  16. Good luck tomorrow - you'll do fine!!
  17. took me 3 months from seminar to surgery (surgery is upcoming july 5) with insurance coverage. i didn't have supervised diet for my insurance coverage
  18. I see from other posts that eating too few calories can inhibit weight loss the same as overeating - this is something i will struggle with as i'm an "extreme" person meaning all or nothing - overeat or undereat never "just right" i will need to really concentrate on that after banding july 5!

great post - and great idea on the bracelet!
  20. LOL I'm with you - mine's July 5 - I keep thinking ok - one month from this Sunday, 4 weeks from this Tues. In two weeks from Tues. I will start pre-op diet... I understand the big count down that is for sure!
  21. lap band lawyers unite LOL!!!!! my surgery is july 5 - congrats on your great success - i hope to do the same =)
  22. that is FABULOUS - my surgery is july 5 - and i've got the same fear you had - that i'd be one of the ones it didn't work for - i can definitely relate - would love to grab the size 16 at lane bryant - would be so cool - congrats!
  23. Great job and very inspiring post thanks!!!! My surgery is July 5 - can't wait to get on the road to a better life =)
  24. never heard of insurance being affeccted by weight gain during the process - but have seen elsewhere on this site where particular surgeons have refused to do the surgery if the patient gained "x" or more pounds during the process - that is rare from what i've seen you should be fine - just get back on the wagon....
