  1. i dont think anyone in this thread had the intention of critcizing others. i think it is just amazing that some people go into the surgery totally uninformed. things like what is stuck..the green zone...how long did it take someone to get to goal seem like question approrpriate(for lack of a better word) for the forum..but some questions like..what do i eat the day after surgery..what medications can i take or what is a fill are questions that should be addressed before surgery is even done. just my 2 cents. again i'm all about supporting each other on this site.
  2. yes sexy is a state of mind..girl please i knew i was sexy when i was a size 20! any you know you cant tell me nuthn at a size 12! lol working towards my 10..i was a slow looser. comparing my lost in pounds i look like a failure, but i'm no longer comparing my journey with anyone else. you look amazing! celebrate what you have accomplished thus far and use that as your motivation that you can and will do this!
  3. also sometimes you can be doing all the right things, but your body will just hit a plateu for a while. it's miraculous to me for those who CONSITENTLY loose 1-2 pounds a week..cuz that surely isnt me..lol
  4. i have to force myself to just cut my foods up small that i know i will take a big bite of
  5. My coughing at night along with choking was a sign my band was too tight...have u had a fill recently or been sick? Anything that may have made ur band tighter?
  6. The misconception that I and many people had/have about the band is that ur level of restriction will stay the same...unfortunatley it's just not the case..it's not uncommon for stress..TOM..weather..travel..to effect the band...I have learned to just go with the flow..my band is moody and I have come to realize that some days are better than others. U eat what u can when u can.
  7. love your posts! bless you hun!
  8. omg have the same problem...i literally had a panic attack the first time i had to shop on the "regular" side of the store. i still cant shop in stores that dont sell plus and regular sizes. never forsaw this coming with my weight loss!

the first step admitting you havent really honestly done your part is the first step in getting back on track. praying you get your motivation back and utilize your band the way it's meant to be used.
  10. when i was able to fit into a size 12 jeans...never in my life have i worn anything smaller than a 14!!! i love my band moment!
  11. I've never had a slip..but I have been too tight...r u able to keep down foods/liquids...I knew I was too tight when I would wake up choking and couldn't keep down liquids.
  12. I agree..maybe ur bites are too big...if you are losing weight and not hungry till after 4-5 hours I wouldn't get a fill
  13. I'm an occupational therapist...had surgery on a wed and was back to work the following Thursday..my job is physical as I have to help lift patients so times...I had a 10# weight lifting restriction....my supervisor snuck and helped me with my patients so I wouldn't lose my contract since I couldn't "perform" all my job duties...I know that was God's favor and am soooo grateful!

best wishes on your journey. i have a love/hate relationship with my band, but we're on good terms right now! lol
  15. LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!!! thanks for the tough love..#9 smacked me right upside the head!!!!Glad to know i'm not crazy and my restriction changes like the weather!!! thanks Jean!
  16. I'm a slow loser as well..but make sure u keep ur measurements as well...I lose more inches than I do pounds. Best wishes on ur journey.
  17. Did u do liquids for 2 days? How did they go down? If u can't keep liquids down u are too tight and need an unfill..if u can keep liquids down I would go back to them for another 2 days and then do soft foods and work your wayup to solids...when in doubt call your doc
  18. My surgeon had me sign a "0" pound weight gain clause.....I asked the office if he was strict about it..they said no...he just doesn't want u gaining a whole lot..I lost 15 pounds and day of surgery he was proud..but i' sure if u explain ur cycle is there it wont be a problem...best wishes hun and don't let that stress u.
  19. My doc says liquids for 2 days..and then normal food...I do liquids at least that day..tee hee hee..and ease back into soft foods and then regular...everytime I get a fill I end up get at least 2 small unfills...when u r close to the green zone the slightest fill of like.2cc's can make a huge difference...just my 2 cents
  20. hmmm havent heard that one. could it be the protein shakes not agreeing with you if you're drinking them?
  21. i would advise you to start making a list of questions to take with you to your surgeon. although most of your questions can be answered on here, theres nothing like asking the one who is doing the surgery. best wishes on your journey jennifer
  22. How many days post op are you? I was on liquids for 7 days..so no rice. What were your post op instructions?
  23. I just went thru something similiar...long story short I ended up with a fill only.2cc's after 1 cc was too much...my band is so sensitive to the smallest fill every since I hit the green zone
