  1. Hot drinks help to loosen the band in the morning if it is feeling tight. Good excuse to have coffee! I don't really need and excuse, but I do enjoy my coffee everyday at least once and it has not slowed down my wight loose. Good luck
  2. I went from 8cc to 9cc in my 14cc band a month ago and have gotten stuck a lot and pb, slimed, and everything else since then. I went and had 1/2 a cc out two days ago and am now doing great. I think it just depends on the person and the Dr to how much they take out.
  3. still take my meds, one I got permission to break open into my mouth and I am still doing great with it. I was told that during this journey is not the time to go off our meds. There are so many ups and downs with weight loss that you may even need to up your dose.
  4. The reason a lot of us do well with the band is because we make ourselves accountable for what we put in our mouths and what exercise we get. I like you always find time and it makes a big difference. You said what I feel what I feel and we all know that the band is just a tool we have to make work for us, not a magic wand!

Are you going out and walking yet. Thats what got me going and my Dr wanted me taking walks asvp
  6. Yesterday at work (I am a groecry checker) A lady came through my line. She was complaining that she needed to eat more. I asked why, and she told me she had had gastric bypass 12/11. I told her I had lab band 4/11 and she said "well I have lost 48 pounds since December" so I told her I have lost 107 since April hmmmmmmmmmmmm which is the better route! Oh and all she eats are Protein shakes and Protein Bars and Vitamins That is no life, I prefer my lab band healthy diet life!

  8. congrats Dave! I hit wonderland on Monday and it is great, something a lot of us work towards. For me it has been 25 years since I have been here, funny how my oldest son is that age! Enjoy your new numbers and good luck on finishing your goal.
  9. So if all stomachs are the same size, why do we need fills as we loose weigh? Our band loosen up as our organs come down in size....
  10. I would give it a few days, there could be some swelling from the fill. That is a big fill to get. Make sure you are eating high protein foods first. I eat small amounts 6 times a day and get mine in, but everyone is different. Good luck

you need to get more exercise in and also how much water are you drinking? Also get rid of the scale and try only weighing once a week. Before I could go to the gym I walked everyday starting on my day 7 by 3 weeks I stared at curves and go 5 days a week. (I still walk 6 days a week also) It does not take long and it really gets things moving. YOU CAN DO IT!
  12. I get hungry every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I solved my problem with it by eating 5 to 6 times a day and it works for me. I do not eat a lot, but it does the trick. It is learning when to stop so you are not stuffed and are satisfied. I eat mostly protein and some fruit and veggies and drink tons of water. The band is only a tool and in this journey it is probably 80% you and 20% the band. Willpower and the ability to follow the rules and say NO are important. You will find you can still eat garbage and it will be easy to eat, but it is up to you to make the right choices. Good luck in your journey.
  13. you can walk for exercise and drink lots of water at this point. Also stop weighing yourself everyday, once a week is enough. If you have to get rid of your home scale, that's what I did!
  14. You should be able to use your time at w.w. as part of your 6 mths since it is supervised.
  15. There is a lot of tummy noise with the lap band. I can get rather noisy! .
  16. I went back to work on day 4 and I have a semi physical job and am on my feet all day and did fine. Pre-op diet was 1 lean c. frozen meal and 4 protein shakes. Every dr has different ones.
  17. I allow myself one skinny tall hazelnut latte every morning. I feel like I am working hard to loose and it something I will keep having when I am in maintenance so why take it away.
  18. I eat 6 times a day, it keeps me going and it works for me. You have to find what works for you.
  19. Thanks everyone, you will all be there soon
  20. here is one I have now experienced....feeling my hip bones!
  21. I started at 304 in April and seem to go down a size every 20 pounds. I have lost 107 and gone from a tight 26 to a 14! It will happen, I have 37 pounds to go to my goal and now wonder if I will wear a10. 30 years ago I finish High School wearing a 16 and got prego with my 1st son as an 18 so I am hitting new territory now. It is still hard to envision how I look and I have finally be able to walk by the plus size sections in stores, but in my mind........................
  22. yes I have, I have worked hard at it and only have 37 pounds till goal
  23. I was banded 4/4/11. You need to pull away from those carbs, I have not had bread in any form since my per -op liquid diet. I started out at 304 and am now 197, I go to curves 5 days and week and walk or ride 6 days a week. I do count my calories and really push my protein. You can do it, you may just be a slow loser and there is nothing wrong with that.
  24. you learn to ignore it!

last week I was 200.6 ugh!! Then I pulled a muscle so when I went to weigh in this week my thought were "their is no way I have not been able to walk" (still went to curves though) and what do you know, 197.4!! It feels good in my head, but now that I am here it is not as big of deal as I thought it would be! I did treat myself to a couple size 14 summer dresses. Pretty good since the last dress I bought was a size 26! You will do it.....it will sneak right up on you!
