Nsv = New Jeans & New Size

Awesome feeling isn't it! I wear 10s and 12s now and some times when I am folding laundry I look at my pants and think there is now way those fit me! (I started out a size 26)

    Frustraaaaated!! Arrrrgggh!!! >:(

One thing you need to remember is the band is a tool to help you along the way. It takes a lot of work and willpower to get to your goal. I did not feel any restriction for the first 5 months, but I worked hard to make it work and followed the rules and lost from day one. I found that eating six times a day helped me, I pushed the protein first and then veggies and fruit. (I ate my protein and stayed away from protein drinks) I stayed away from bread, pasta, rice and all those kind of things they seem to be my down fall and it was easier just to say no! You can do!

    Almost Our Bandversaries!

lost 130 and am down 9 pants sizes! I love my band but will always struggle to eat right. By that I mean stay away from the sweets. I know what is good for me and what makes me feel best, but it can be tempting. I go to the gym 4 times a week now that I have hit goal and will continue to stay active. Clothes shopping is getting a little easier, it can be hard when you were obese for years and do not know where to shop or what to buy. But I have gotten to know my knew body and it is getting better. I had double hernia surgery in November and spent 5 days in the hospital, my recovery was pretty fast and I did not gain any weight during my down time! I get stuck on occasion and is it usually caused by not chewing enough and is purely my fault. My band does tighten up right before my tom but that's ok, it is just reminding me it is still there. I hope everyone else is doing well and had great weight loss and ncv with their bands. smiles

I lost all my wight before I hit it but thats ok, it is easier to keep the weight off this way! Good luck

    Hello Coffee Addict!

I have a tall skinny Hazelnut latte from starbucks often. It is 90 cals and has helped keep me on track and not having things I shouldn't. I lost 130 pounds in nine months and it did not slow me down at all!

    Omg - I'm 50 Today

Happy Birthday! I had my band 4/4/11 and it is the best thing I ever have done for myself! I will be 50 in October and am healthier than I have been in 25 years! Enjoy
  10. Mine is 3 hours from home, but it gives me an excuse to go shopping in the big city and buy new clothes! They do fills once a month at a location 1.5 hours from home, but it is over a mountain pass and not a very good area so I would rather go over a different pass and enjoy myself while I am there!
  11. 110 in six months but I worked my butt off to get there!

Run My Life! What Should I Do?

Honk, I was where you are a year ago. My surgery was 04/04/11 and I am so happy I did it. My bmi was 49 and now is 27! I have lost 131 pounds and am now maintaining. I worked hard to get here. Lots of water, exercise, and healthy eating. Don't let anyone tell you it is the easy way out, it is and always be a lot of work. Good luck and this is the best decision you can make about your weight and health.

    Where Is My Port!!!

lay down and lift up your legs, feel above the larger scar and you should be able to find it.
  16. At six month I was down 111 pounds and at 9 months I was down 130. Now I am on bonus time, I love my band!
  17. Yes stress effects your band! So does your Tom and weather, but you get used to it and realize it is just part of the new life you have chosen for yourself.
  18. Cazzy is right. I finally hit the green zone last week with my .02 fill! I am at my goal but could stand to lose 20 more and may do it! I stuck to 800 cals a day till I hit 100 pounds loss then increased it over time to 1200. I also have exercised since one week after surgery and do change what I do to keep my body guessing. The lap band journey is not an easy one and it does take a lot of self control and self discipline to get where you want to be. Good luck

    Tips For Starting Exercise

I did a lot of walking and joined curves! I got to where I would walk to curves, do the workout and walk home! Curves was great, but last month I switched to a gym where I get more to offer because I needed more! I find the key to getting my exercise in is making myself do it especially on those days I do not want too!
  20. I have found eating 6 times a day works for me so that I can control my hunger. I am the same way and had to find a way to handle it. I have 8.5 in my 14cc band and am going in for a small fill. Right now I can eat anything I want again so I know it is time(I had bread last week and I have not eaten that since last March!
