4 fills since March...
I have 9cc in a 14cc band now and I still get hungry every two or three hours. I have found that I have to eat 5 to 6 times a day and I am find with that. since I have gotten used to eating more often, I am doing great. We are all so different and finding what works for you is the toughest part. Good luck and just keep moving along and don't worry.

Does anyone drink a lot of liquid at meals to get things like bread down?
Bread is a big no no with the band. I follow the rules and have had great results. It did take a few months to get over the no drinking with meals thing, but I don't and I do not miss it. I got lab band to succeed and I do not want to mess it up doing the wrong thing. good luck

Not having to shop at the "fat girl" store!
In April I was a six 26 now I am a 16! The hardest part is your mind....I keep looking over at the plus size clothes thinking oh that's cute and have to remind myself that I cannot wear them anymore. I check out clearance racks and see cute things and for the first time in 30 years I can say, oh that's to big. I am now buying 14 when I shop so I have somethings in the next size! Also looking a the waist in pants is a trip, your mind thinks that looks to small for me and you try it on and it fits! It sure makes you feel great as you go down sizes and is a great motivation for me to keep going! I keep teasing my 18 year old daughter that she better watch out I may borrow something from her closet soon!! she is a 10/12! All I can say is enjoy every minute of it!!

Protein Shakes/Bars which is the best kind?
I guess I should add, I have not had a protein shake since I was on the liquid statge of lap band. I had surgary 4/4/11 and have lost 95 pounds since then. I have 50 left to go! I have lost no hair and have stayed healthy. I eat a lot of protein, but I eat often. I am one of those people who has to eat 6 small meals a day and it works for me. Here is what I ate yesterday if it helps. activia yogurt with a 1/4 cup kashi go lean crunch in it. home made latte ( 1 cup skim milk) sliced truckey sauage (1) Taco time white bean chicken chili (under 200 cals for less than a cup) 6 cherry tomatos and 1 sting cheese 1/2 of a two hundred cal turkey healthy choice with fruit meal lots of water Looking at this I need to get more veggies in, so today I will have some kind of salad with more veggies! Enjoy your lap-band and eat, you need bulk, not slider foods

eating as a form of enjoyment after the surgery
If you look a lot of places post their calories for the meals. I check on line first before I go, I can then order without worry. (if they don't have a list out ask) I eat healthy and in small amounts. I have had a very easy time with my lap-band until this last fill on Monday. Now there are a few things I cannot eat but for the most part I eat what I want. Protein first, then veggies, and if I still have room.......that is rare to still have room! As for doing it again, I would in a heartbeat! It is the best thing I have done in a long time and is worth anything you go through to get it.

Can't stay off the scale
you are doing the right thing moving your scale out of your house. I weight once a week at curves, that way I do not stress about it.

Curves vs Gym
Yes curves work. I have been going since april. I go 5 days a week, I do know though that by the end of the year I will need more and may join golds or something along that line.

Can my job cut my hours?
I know this is bad, but,,,,,I did not tell my employer I was having lapband. I know it is wrong, but they would have done the same thing to me. I did it when I had a three day off week and was back to work on the 4th day. I just watched what I was doing and did not lift anything to heavy. I also stand all day, so it was a lot of moving and it helped me heal and feel better. Good luck

How is this possible?
I weigh once a week at curves. (every Monday) I hate my home scale I do not even look at it anymore! I would worry myself like you are if I got on the scale more often, our bodies tend to weigh more at different times of the day and for all kinds of reasons. I know it is hard, but put that scale away and only pull it out once a week and it will get easier.

Does everyone really eat proteins first
I also like activia yogurt in the morning, but when I have it I mix it with Kashi go lean crunch. It adds more protein and bulk to it and it stays with me longer. I always eat protein first, following the rules has gotten me where I am.

What if someone knows you are banded?
well said!

Newbie
I went back to work on day four. I work as a grocery checker in a busy store so I am on my feet all day. I just made sure not to lift anything heavy and I did fine. I sure slept good for the first week back to work. I started walking on my second week and have not stopped yet! As for eating guidelines, it is not that hard. You will have to wait till you are banded to see how you will do with eating. I can eat everything with out trouble. I make the choice not to eat breads, pasta, potatoes, etc. I figure they are my downfall so I stay away from them. The band does take a lot of willpower, you need it to make the right food choices and to make sure you exercise. Good luck and welcome

Eating after banding
Until you are banded it is hard to know what you can eat. Everyone is different, I can eat anything and have never had any issues. I have 8.5 in a 15cc band. I stay away from breads, pasta, rice etc. only because I choose too. Good luck!

Weird, but entering One-derland was anti-climatic
I have 13.5 pounds to go and can't wait! It has been 25 years since I was there and it will be a time of celebration for me. Congrats by the way!
