I agree with Seanamw, You got a lap band not a magic wand. The lap band is a tool to help you loose weight and you have to have self control and work with it. It is hard work and you have to commit to making changes in your diet and exercise in order for it to work. Good luck

Get copies of all your record showing these issues, also copies of records showing your weight for the last five years(one for each year)) Also write down all the diets you have tried. These are all things they will ask for and if you go to the doctors with them already you will be a step ahead. Where do you live in Washington, I am over in East Wenatchee and I had my surgery at northwest weight loss center in Everett. Also things to add to your list is acid reflex and cholesterol if you have those issues.

So sorry to hear this, I hope everything goes well and you heal quickly. I know when I do not exercise I feel the same way. I guess it is good that are minds change and we are able to embrace our new life's. Good luck

I know how you feel, I have gone from a 26 to a tight 14 since April. I look at the clothes and think there is no way I can get into that and then I do! I guess the one thing that is hard to change is your body image. Congrats

I was like you up until my last fill 2 weeks ago. Now I know I have a band! I have been loosing steady since day one so I would not worry to much. Some of us just have a easier time with the band. I was also told I could have up to 1 cup of food, you have to do what works best for you and you will figure it out. Me, I have to eat 6 small meals a day. Thats what work for me...Good luck you will do great

you do not want to move to fast. I was banded on 4/4/11 and have had know problems until two weeks ago when I got my 5th fill bringing me up 9 in my 14 band. I enjoyed my band until now. Now I know what people are talking about. I am thinking of getting 1/2 of my last fill taken out. I get stuck to often and do not like to be in pain. Anyway my point is as long as you are loosing weight and eating right don't worry about it.

what does 600mls come out to calorie wise?

I agree with freelance frog, we are all here to help each other through this . Let us know what you are eating and how much and you will get advice even if you do not want it! Also make sure you are drinking lots of water, it really makes a big difference. Just remember you can do it!

good job you look great!

bouillon soup is a slider food and I was told to eat bulk food., other wise I do great though I eat 6 small meals a day and do great with it. down 95 since 4/411
-
I guess I should add, I have not had a protein shake since I was on the liquid statge of lap band. I had surgary 4/4/11 and have lost 95 pounds since then. I have 50 left to go! I have lost no hair and have stayed healthy. I eat a lot of protein, but I eat often. I am one of those people who has to eat 6 small meals a day and it works for me. Here is what I ate yesterday if it helps.
activia yogurt with a 1/4 cup kashi go lean crunch in it.
home made latte ( 1 cup skim milk)
sliced truckey sauage (1)
Taco time white bean chicken chili (under 200 cals for less than a cup)
6 cherry tomatos and 1 sting cheese
1/2 of a two hundred cal turkey healthy choice with fruit meal
lots of water
Looking at this I need to get more veggies in, so today I will have some kind of salad with more veggies!
Enjoy your lap-band and eat, you need bulk, not slider foods

how about eggs, yougert, kashi cereal, try something new.

well said!

It is not as bad as you think, I had one day where I realized I was mourning food! After that I was fine. You can eat the things you like, just not as much. I try new things all the time and my dh tries them also. It is a new way of life, a healthier way of life, but well worth it

I second that!

when that happens think of how good you are going to look and feel in a few months. I am 3 months out and down 71 pounds....you can do it!
-
Don't put of going to curves, once you get started it will become a habit. I go there 5 mornings a week and also bike ride after. I started out walking then added curves and now riding my bike! I will be 3 months out on the 4th and have dropped 67 pounds so I am half way to my goal. As for ice cream, I buy weight watchers and treat myself with one aday so I don't eat something bad! Good luck, you can do it.

I wiegh in once a week at the gym so I do not have that happen. it can be depressing not to see a change. Keep on doing what you are doing and it will happen.
-
I drive 3 hours over a mountain pass to get my fills. It also costs me 75 $ in gas, but it is worth it to get o my goal. You can do it!!!

I also joined curves 3 weeks ago, get rid of that home scale and weigh in at curves. Thats what I am doing every monday and it makes life easier not having one at the house for now. Good luck

Hi, I am in washington state also. Northwest weight loss center would be the ones to answer your questions. They are in everett. They took care of everything for me and told me what I needed to get and from whom. There # is 800-979-8986 it only took me three weeks from start to surgery. good luck+

Mine was 04/04/2011 and I am feeling great. I got to start soft food yesterday and it is wonderful. I went back to work on the 8th (busy cashier) and started walking 1 1/2 miles a day on the 10th. My energy level is way up and I am down 21 pounds since March 22nd. If you get up and make yourself move and get going you will feel better. I have been going to starbucks and getting a tall skinny late and it is not slowing down my weight lose. It is one of my dairy items for the day! when I get off work in the evening I also have a 40 cal fudgecycle mmmmmmmmm. kinda of keeps the cravings away. We are all going to have down days, but it is what we do about it that matters. Go visit a friend, go walk around the mall, or just get up and move!! Hope things get better, (I know they will) Brenda

I was banded on the 4th and am on liquids for the first week. I have been drinking Tomato and potato soups (strained the potatos out) and Yougert. I was told anything I can suck through a straw is fine. 2nd week for me is mushies and the third week I am supose to introduce solids. I t is interesting how good I feel two days out, lots of energy but I also need a little extra sleep.

Cream of wheat has very little protein, I had it about a week ago for a change and was soooooooooo hungry and felt drained of energy. In the morning I usally eat an activia yogurt with kashi go lean in it. Gives me more protein and fills me up. I do eat every couple of hours though. I am just one of those people who need to and it works for me.
