Tired of chicken broth
i tried a lot of different clear broth based soups and just strained them. like progresso light, then took all the veggies and stuff out and just drank the broth. or french onion with out the cheese or onion is really good. hang in there!

I AM A LOSER
I can hardly believe that its been only 3 1/2 weeks. i feel like its been forever. i kinda almost feel normal again. sorta...just wielding a smaller plate haha. I went back last week and have lost a total of 31 pounds since pre op and have had to do a little shopping. And I say a little, cuz i dont wanna buy too much, only to have to buy more again later. but it felt sooooo good going into surgery as a size 24, and sliding into a size 20 jeans last week. i was ecstatic. i cant believe that i am disappearing. i almost couldnt believe it. those 2 sizes made me feel invincible....and as silly as it sounds...i feel...sexy, cute, and dare i say...pretty. i walk with my head up, i slowly feel my confidence coming back. and its great. i cut and colored my hair, totally different than before. i probably sound like a loon lol. but i have zero regrets doing this. wait....maybe one...lol....my chest is disappearing HAHAHA. thats my only complaint. but i am hoping that once i am to my goal weight, it will all balance out. lol...told you guys, i am silly. but i have never been more proud to say I AM A LOSER!!!!

Warning to new sleeves
yes, my nutritionist told me to measure EVERYTHING. only 4 tbsp at a time, of only a couple of things. and at first i was obedient and lately i have just been eating on the fly. just grab and go. and last night i was grab and go while taking my son on the highway to his dads and wasnt listening and my drive thru sought revenge. yes, the 2 and half chicken nuggets that i can barely eat. and it was awful. i ate entirely too fast. and so today, i vowed that i was going to start re-measuring everything. and trying hard to drink more than i eat. hopefully that will also get my out of my stall. but yes, its a hard lesson and one that we dont soon forget.
-
What did you do to break your stall?
i had my first stall and i am 3 weeks out. so i know how frustrating it is. but i keep reading everyones posts and i just charged in on proteins this week and hoping i can get things going. i'm with everyone else tho, congrats on the loss. its great to be a loser no matter how fast or slow it is.

WHY DOES IT HURT!?

WHY DOES IT HURT!?
I am a little over a week post op and everything has been wonderful. Except yesterday, I ate lunch (sorta ate, i guess drink would be more appropriate haha), and had the worst pain in my shoulders ever. Kinda like maybe trapped air?? and its still there today. and last night, i was too scared to eat anything cuz it was so uncomfortable. I hate to call my dr over something silly so i was hoping maybe someone here has experienced this and can shed some light on things. i am gonna try some protein drink. I am just worried that maybe a leak popped up? or something worse. Any ideas?

GAS when Eating!!! Advice Please!
i get what i affectionately call "the bubble" now, and i am a week out. I was getting it almost immediately after my surgery and it has slowly been going away. i noticed i get it when i eat or drink too fast or too much at one time. it hurts but goes away almost as quick as it pops up. if i stretch or move it goes away. and the frequency has lessened too as i heal. so i think it might just be part of it. my doc has me on some meds to restart my inner workings lol (for lack of a better word). and i think its helping too.

going in this morning
best of luck to the both of you today! there are no regrets on this side and i am one week out today! i feel great! and you will too! its a whole new and exciting journey!

3 days post op.
Still no regrets. I think this was the best decision I have made. I have noticed I am still having these little spasms? In my tummy, like when I swallow air. I think its normal. What do you guys think? As far as pain goes, I have little. But am still takin it easy. Back to work at my desk next week. Kinda anxious, I hate sitting around.

tomorrow is the day!
I cant believe its finally here! :cheer2: The wait is over. well....sorta. In 20 hours I will be getting registered at Methodist Hospital in Peoria IL. Changing my life. I am a wealth of different emotions today. I dropped my son off with family today and knowing it would be 4 days before I saw him again, i cried like a little sissy. Happy and sad. and the weather here is supposed to be bad so my best friend (who has the sleeve) and I are leaving town early and staying the night there so we are on sight early in the morning and don't have to deal with the snow. yuck! but let is snow now...cuz this summer...things are gonna be different! wish me luck all! and i will let you know how the adventure goes!

Starting my pre-op today!
wow that is what you get before your surgery!? thats amazing. I am having my surgery tuesday and my pre op diet has been clear liquids only. the only acception to the rule was my protein shakes. everything else had to be clear. YUCK...it has been hard at times. thats awesome! Good luck to you on your journey!

Headaches week before surgery
I am having the same trouble too. Restless nights and headaches. i have found that napping has helped. Like maybe i am getting them from being too tired. which i have been from not getting enough calories. I can take tylenol, but nothing else. I actually have liquid tylenol which isnt bad. i also find that when i drink a lot more, they tend to go away. so i have been pushing the crystal light. but nothing has yet to solve the sleep issue. surgery next week? when? Mine is the 11th. good luck to you on your big day!!

4 days out and feeling full?
i have been faithfully on my 14 day liquid diet and i must say that at day 10, i feel kinda wierd. I am exhausted to being with. but i am also very...full? its like there's just no room for anything else. i force my liquids and i squeeze in 2, and if i am lucky, 3, protein shakes a day. anyone else feel this way? has my tummy shrunk that much??!!

today is the halfway mark
I can't believe that I am only 7 days out to surgery. The liquid diet is definitely getting easier. Thank goodness since I will be on it a while, right? I noticed though that i gained a few pounds this week. Thats kinda wierd since I'm not eating anything. kinda discouraging but I am pushing on. I keep hearing about this drain they put in. Can someone tell me how long they leave that in? Sounds painful.

anyone else feel this way
Thanks for your help. Makes it easier knowing I'm not alone.

anyone else feel this way
That's where I'm having the most trouble. Boredom. Seeing everyone else eat makes me miss it. I only have 10 more days on liquids then my surgery. So I try to focus on the outcome.
-
anyone else feel this way
Omg so I am almost thru day 3 of the liquid diet. And I almost caved. My son was having tacos and I could just look at em and taste em. The 'head hunger' is gettin to me. Tryin to stay busy. Anyone else having this trouble. :-[

January 11th is the day!!!
the liquid part is easy when i am busy. so i can see why you say the night is soo hard. you have more time to think about it, and watching tv is the worst lol...the food commercials lol makes me hungry. so i know its all in my head. i get 3 protein shakes...that i can mix with milk...but then thats done 24 hrs before surgery. i can have broth...jello...and crystal light. and all the water i can drink. lol woohoo. but my NUT told me yesterday that i can by like vegetable soups and strain them for the broth if it spices things up for me so i dont get so bored. but i am on day 2 and so far i dont feel like robbing the local mcdonalds lol so i am doing okay. we absolutely have to keep in touch. where are you having your surgery done?

January 11th is the day!!!
wow, so here I go! I am scheduled to be sleeved at 7:30am on January 11th! I can't believe its here already! Started my liquid diet yesterday. Made it through day one lol...which I wasn't so sure I could do. I have my pre op clearance with my family doc today, so I am on the fast track to a new me. I am so excited, and majorly scared. I know that sounds kinda silly, but surgery just scares me to begin with. But a lifetime of being over weight scares me more. any helpful hints to surviving the liquid diet?

Tell my boss?
i told my boss right away. and she was way supportive, and her daughter even comes into the office and covers for my shifts. and word has spread, and with overwhelming support and concern. everyone has positive things to say, as well as being behind me 100%. so i guess it just depends on your relationship with your boss. i work in a dealership and we are all kinda like family. so its kinda like they are going to hold me accountable in a good way, to make sure that i succeed. good luck with this and i hope your journey goes well!
