  1. How nice for you! It is very empowering to not only do what you set out to do but also feel energized afterward. I, too, have to remind myself of how good I feel after a workout. Pre-op I didn't ever routinely incorporate exercise into my life. now, I feel like I can actually do it!
  2. Absolutely a hoot! How'd ya do that!
  3. Look at you Jerry! What a wonderful job. Hooray for more solid food. Eat.. SLOOOOWLY!
  4. no that's a member name... go up to the top of this page and click on members then go to "S" then find stcyt
  5. Where are you in Kuwait? Kuwait City? You or hubby working as a contractor? I have a friend over there as well and she is always discussing the differences between here and there. Her husband works for the Department of the Army. My husband is in the Army and I do know how limiting it can be to access things readily available here. I think you could have good luck ordering some Crystal Light packets or other sugar-free water flavorings from Amazon or even aafes.com. Where is your family over here? Take care and good luck!
  6. Congratulations! Is your surgeon in TC? I think you'll be happy with your decision, since there is some variance to the recovery period. Good luck with the wedding!
  7. you're a hoot. you'll do well keeping your sense of humor like that!
  8. Hey Diane, I'm going through that right now! It is frustrating because I can't seem to get very many calories in on any given day. I do have a lot of issues with things feeling like they creep back into my esophagus after I eat. I estimate I can get about an ounce of food in at a time. I checked with some of the gals on here and they said that was a normal amount for them at my the stage I am at. I hope it gets better! I'm from MI as well, the UP.
  9. Hey morningkiss, hoping you are feeling well! You should definitely make your fluids a priority! Not everyone is on an anti-acid, it's Dr. specific. I seem to lose weight and my size stays the same and when I have a slow week or two my clothing size changes. Strange.

stay home with 4 kids all. day. long.
  11. Yay! Congratulations, Swift! You are doing a great job and I know how exciting it is!
  12. I started the morning of surgery! I have to say it was a bit heavier than normal due to the blood thinners. I was given postpartum panties-- like tiffy said the stretchy ones-- and had 'em going in but not coming out. they cath you so i was left all sorts of naked with a cot under me (one of those huge blue and white absorbent bed protectors). I was so anxious about it but the nurses do make you feel comfortable. The only one I told was the pre-op check-in nurse. The others had a pleasant surprise in the OR I guess! I have an IUD so no pills for me to manipulate.
  13. I had mine yanked at the same time. I hadn't realized it but the pain under my right ribs was my GB acting wonky for 1.5 years! Since I had it all done at the same time it's hard for me to tell what I can or cannot tolerate simply due to the GB removal. I'll tell you I am thrilled that I don't have that pain anymore... I was really thinking I had a pulled muscle that would never heal!
  14. showering, a nice long warm shower. it was very relaxing!
  15. hey mommy, i think we may have our broods of kid in common! 4 is busy! i was sleeved in March and I'll just state the obvious... try to be sure you have help with the kids. you will need to rest and it is a bit cumbersome moving around in the beginning. are your kids young? i was fortunate enough to have my aunt here staying for a while. my husband was around but had to work. be sure to ask any questions you may have, this site has been very helpful!
  16. hey jerry, i think she was tired!
  17. Gary, that's so wonderful! Truly an accomplishment!
  18. Congrats! I hope you start feeling well and I agree, sip away!
