  2. i hope all is going well! the first few days will be but a mere glimpse when you're a couple weeks out! good luck!
  3. I agree, I'd put it in a shadow box with some fun travel pics of yourself at your highest weight. A little inspirational/visual reminder of all the hard work you've done.
  4. I had no idea it was that quick! Congratulations and good luck!
  5. welcome! two days, it will go by so quickly. good luck!
  6. Congratulations on the impending arrival of your first son! It is because of my kids that I chose this route and honestly I think it is a great decision. Best of luck with the insurance waiting game!
  7. isn't it exciting! it is nice that you and your step-mom are in it together. the support is so essential. i agree with Lan2K that the weight will start dropping like crazy. if you told me 6 weeks ago i'd be down 42 lbs i'd say you were nuts! but here i am. congratulations, and don't wait to get active!
  8. Good luck, swiftflow! I'll send you well wishes on your big day, it's an adjustment... but a good one!
  9. congratulations, you are working so hard! it is nice to see a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel, isn't it?
  10. welcome! your date will be here before you know it!
  11. The flavors, that is. Anyone have experience with Egg White, Rice or other powder proteins? How would you describe it? I've been trying to get protein in through meats but just can't do it comfortably. I'd like to be able to get supplementation with the various powders but it really is making me wretch. Help!
  12. how exciting! I hit 5 weeks tomorrow and wish I was seeing some size differences! I'll take the pounds, since it's a start! Congrats!
  13. that IS wonderful! enjoy!
  14. thanks for the visual of a coronary midway... that is hilarious!
  15. I was sleeved the same day! You're doing well, I'm not sure how the progress is but I celebrate any progress! Good luck and enjoy it!
  16. I was a hard Diet Coke addict as well. On my own I could easily polish off 6-12 diet cokes a day! I quit the night before surgery and dare say I took a small drink of one about a week ago... horrid, acrid pain! All contents of my sleeve were upchucked due to the carbonation. It's not the same. I miss it. The caffeine didn't affect me when I stopped, no headaches, nothing! It helped that I didn't want to drink much of anything post surgery. In theory I should've weaned a bit better but on the other hand, I have to say the way I did it worked fine.
  17. congratulations! I think the expectation is there, although we try to be "real" about it, that we will lose quickly. I've lost a lot in the three weeks post-op but am definitely slowing down. I thought I was prepared to slow down since I know that's the best for my body any way, but the disappointment was surely there when I hop on the scale and the numbers are moving in half pounds or less rather than multiple pounds. I love being able to see the range of the experiences, thanks for sharing Lee!

no, it was definitely the liquid itself. just seemed like a shock when i tried to take the tiniest sip and it was cold. i did much better with the chicken broth. i'm on day two post op and feeling quite a bit better. i can drink any sort of temp. liquids now so it's been great.

day after... little uncomfy but doable. Having a hard time with temperature of liquids, which I was surprised about. The area of the drain is most tender!
