  1. Cheri, I am hearing you loud and clear... LOUD AND CLEAR! I am in the same boat and feel like pants about it... like you said in an earlier post my body really doesn't want to part with this fat! I feel like my mind is in a constant battle with my body and at the moment my body is winning.... grrrrrr!! I am also with you on the skin issue... I hate it but I know it will get worse before it gets better... My current state of mind, is oh God why me... I don't want to look like this I want to look 'normal' and then the 'intelligent' side of me starts this bloody arguement about what is normal... talk about a constant state of mental flux! I have also got my monthly friend, who very rudely was 12 weeks late, and my goodness she is here with venom. On top of that I am struggling with a bad cold/flu so I am proper down in the dumps!!! *sighs* Hopefully we will both feel better really soon ... chin up!!!! x
  2. Hey Minime... you certainly are a mini you now....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
  3. Hey Peffermintchili... excellent news... keep us updated on the process!! Hope this cheers you up... x
  4. I don't think it is a bad question at ALL! I'm going to ask my NUT about it on Tues. when I visit. I was under the impression that we were to swear off all ibuprofen for life? Am I wrong? I know I am to not take it within a month before surgery and directly after is a no-no as well. We were told that rapid release Tylenol would now be our pain reliever of "choice"...hummm. Hey, glad we are on the same page here... will you please let me know what your NUT says... I am gonna ring my surgeon tomorrow and ask too... I've taken some anadin and a lemsip and feel ok but I do worry about what meds we can take now! I hate taken them anyway, so I don't really want to stress over this cos it will make it worse... I really do feel awful!
  5. Hey, I love the fact that my rings are looser, a NSV for sure, especially as I can now wear my engagement ring and wedding ring together!! I am also loving the shoe thing... and in particular wearing heals in work ... I am also looking forward to getting a nice pair of high leg boots where I can do the zip up...lol I think the docs are more interested in the health side of things but ladies, the rest is a real bonus and boost isn't it!!!!
  6. Thanks Chilo... My boy was off school a week or so ago, really poorly! And this seems to be going around our school too... early on in the term for flu but there you are... I just feel incredibly depleted of all energy! My hubby reckons that my immune system is low and that is why I have caught it and am suffering, I haven't had the flu like this for years! I enjoyed some carbs yesterday, a bit of toast... but today I can't think about food!
  7. Hey Jordien, thanks... I have been getting as much rest as I can... nanna napping all day! Yea, I've upped my fluids and taken some flu meds but still feel like poo... oh well... a bit more sleep it is then!!
  8. Hello fellow sleevers, I woke up yesterday morning feeling like someone had driven a car over my head... yes I know that sounds dramatic, but it is true. Some might call it man flu, I call it a head cold with a touch of sinus. I have a chronic, non stop headache, chesty cough, dry and sore throat (especially when I eat, drink or talk) and blocked nose that still manages to run! Picture the scene of beauty and health eh????? That doesn't even touch on the tiredness and moods! :sad0: This horrible feeling is really getting me down; for several reasons. Firstly, I have no idea what meds I can take with my new tummy -paracetamol doesn't work with me - so there is no point taking that! Then there is the issue of lack of energy, which is leading to no motivation and the craving of carbs! On top of that, just to make me feel a whole lot better ... NOT ... my monthly cycle is here after an absence of 12 weeks... I just feel like my body is fighting with my mind and doing its best to wind me up and I am getting on my own nerves! ANy words of wisdom would be appreciated...
  9. . The little victories, my clothes getting too big, having more energy, my knee stopped hurting and the best thing of all, today my 12 yr old daughter and I bought the same outfit, just a sweatshirt and jogging bottoms, she's using hers for a trip to the lakes on monday and I'm using mine for the gym! I thought that she would be embarrased but she actually insisted that we bought the exact same outfit, colour, brand everthing, identical! I haven't felt this good in a long long time! Chilo... that is amazing, I bet you do feel great, as I know I would too... my daughter is 12 too but not sure she would go for this idea (yet)...lol I love NSV like these!!
  10. Hey Diva, great thread! I too use fitness as my motivation; I go to the gym in work (basic but free) 1 -2 times a week and go to a Zumba class once a week. If I have the time or energy I also try to do something in the house at the weekend... perhaps the wii fit. On sky there is a fitness chanel and I have recorded some cardio workouts on there that I do. I also count fitness goals as NSV... for example, before the sleeve I could only walk on the treadmill, now I am jogging on there... I walk for a min, the jog for as long as I can, then walk etc... but I am noticing that the jogging is becoming a lot longer in duration and that I can breath!!!! That is a good feeling! My next mini goal is to go swimming with my kids; they both go to a swimming club and enter galas, so they are really strong swimmers (as I used to be)... I have given myself a weight related goal, of which I am three pounds away... so not long to go now! My next weigh related goal is when I lose another 14lb and then my aim is to take up squash again... I find that is a really good exercise for frustration and getting rid of it! My ultimate goal, which I am hoping to achieve in the new year, is to be 'light' enough and strong enough to go boxing training. Both my son and my husband go and it is a fab workout... I will keep you posted!!
  11. Hey, all I can say is congratulations on your 70lb loss... that is amazing in 6 months ... good for you... stay positive and decide if you WANT to lose anymore, or whether you are contended where you are... I agree with Maddie... you ain't gained and this is excellent!! Good luck and let us know how you are... =]
  12. Hey, Me too... used to get them for a variety of reasons... 12 weeks post op and no migraine... a few headaches but no migraine... I will consider this a NSV...lol
  13. Good move Diva.... I am 203... just 4lbs to go and it feels like it is taking forever!!!!!

  16. Hey Peffermintchili... didn't realise that you were in the UK... up north!! Glad you like it... =]
  17. Hey Leelee, I went to my doctor first, he then refered me via the NHS and I was refused cos I was too healthy and didn't weigh enough, yea righto, I then sourced the surgery privately and had to pay. I don't regret it at all! Go to your doc first and see what they say... I live in Wales and it is a little different here... good luck and let me know what they say! =]
  18. Well Ange, you might be frustrated by that naughty stall... but don't be!!! You look amazing; healthy and happy... WELL DONE!!! x

  24. Hello all... thanks for your kind words... I am starting to feel 'pleased' with myself... I think this is the best tool... at long last I am starting to feel human again!! We are all doing really well and this is what I love about this site... the encouragment! Here is one for you though... how complicated are our bodies...? Last week I lost 1lb and 3 1/2 inches. This week it is 4lb and 1/2 inch!!! How strange is that... but, hey, I ain't complaining!
