  1. I have been worried about my port pain too. I was banded 6/7/12 and from the moment I woke up in surgery I had very bad pain in the port area. It is not excruciating now but some mornings I wake up and it hurts pretty bad. I am worried that the port flipped. I'm getting a fill with fluoroscopy next week and I'm scared because the area hurts if you touch it do I can't imagine sticking a needle in it.
  2. Slightly off topic but this thread reminded me of a story my mom loves to tell. For some people the anastetic has the effect of making people emotional right after they wake up. My uncle David had his wisdome teeth out and on the drive back from the hospital he had two big cotton balls in his cheeks and he was sobbing like a big baby. He sucked one of the cotton balls into his throat and started choking. My grandma, who was driving, didn't know what to do so she reached back and punched him in the chest really hard. He spit out the cotton ball and was kinda shocked for a second then started crying even harder. I always loved that story.
  3. Gosh I am really happy to see this thread. I was feeling bad about my day. 1 lala yogurt smoothie 1 laughing cow cheese wedge 2 Diet Snapples 1 Greek yogurt 1cup imitation crab 3 tbsp cocktail sauce 2 servings of chocolate chips :( And OMG my little brother cooked me an awesome dinner 3/4 Pan seared chicken breast 1 cup Pasta 1 1/2 cup alfredo sauce with mushrooms and spinach Not as bad as it could have been but my dinner servings were way too big. I was full and I knew it but I kept going back and taking more bites. Now I don't feel so great.
  4. I was wondering if you could tell me, if your comfortable, how much you lose while esting 1100 calories. I know everyone is different but I'm just cureous.
  5. Congrats on the tat...watch out they are addictive. I started with a smaller one and they just keep getting bigger every time I go for a new one. This is my most recent.
  6. When I go in for a fill with fluoroscopy will they be able to see if the port is ok and still stitched to the muscle? I was banded 6/7/12 and my port site seems to hurt a little more every day and I'm worried that it flipped or something.
  7. Good: saving tons of money not eating out. Bad: finding out how possible it is to have slippage or flipped ports.
  8. I am on solid food now.
  9. I pretty much posted the same thing yesterday. I was banded 6/7/12 and feel like I haven't even been banded and I have gained two or three pounds back as well. All of the people who replied to my post made me feel a lot better. It is hard for us right now but the fills will help. We will make it through this.
  10. Thanks so much that means a lot to me. I have not been drinking protein shakes but I am getting more protein that required each day.
  11. I have been eating way more than I should and I have been having slider foods way too much... some of them very high in calories. I have had no fills and I don't really get hungry but head hunger is almost uncontrolable.
  12. I'm five weeks in and so ashamed to say that my food addiction seems to be winning but I am really, really trying to get back on track. I think it will help to feel accountable to someone so I decided to tell you guys.
  13. What are your healthy substitutes for sweets or when you have bad cravings?
  14. Have any of you tried cooking those little meals in cupcake pans?
  15. Know it is not unusual for the port area to hurt after surgery but I wonder for how long to expect pain? Mine still hurts and I was vended 6/7/12.
  16. Oh that is a good idea I will have to find myself some tapes. I was wondering how long I should wait before I start doing full on workouts. Right now ( three weeks in) I am allowed to walk as much as I want but that's it.
  17. I have a pretty severe food addiction but I also have a habit of buying way too many movies. I love them so much! Now that I have been banded 6/7/12 I found I was buying more than I usually do...so at least five per week now. It could be because I am bored but now that I noticed i was doing it I am backing off some. I think if we try to be aware of what we do and try to exercise restraint things will work out.
  18. Oops...I meant "I always thought..."
  19. I am very interested in taking a belly dance class. I walkway thought that if I lost enough weight I would take every dance class I could just to know all the dances. I have never danced before.
  20. So I posted this somewhere else and no one responded and I am sorry to be a nuisance but I was really excited about it so I thought I would try one more time...I hope you all don't mind So I thought it might be fun (and very, very helpful for myself and others) to try to generate some menu ideas. I do not do well without a plan and it takes me FOREVER! to write up menus for myself. I know we cannot all eat the same things sometimes but who better to know what a good lapband day should look like than my fellow lapbanders. So if you could tell me what you would eat for a whole day while following the lapband rules and even how you prepare the food (if you like) I would be so very appreciative!
