  1. Yes, I have dyspepsia,,with all the symptoms.lol I had gerd before surgery and my symptoms have worsened. I'm on nexium 40mg 2x a day along with 150mg zantac 2x a day..this is not working. I was told if this didn't work, I may want to call my gastro for further evaluation so I'll be calling tomorrow.
  2. Saw the pa yesterday,,she prescribed zantac to go with my nexium??? I really don't think that's going to do the trick but I'll try anything. If it fails,,calling my gastro..it's getting serious. I'm running a fever today, starting to scare me a little.
  3. aww,,thank you rebecca! beyon,,he was fantabulous,,and so cute too..hehe
  4. My doc released me to excercise,,said I was doing great. My only problem is reflux. I also had gained 13 pounds from TPN but had lost 8 of that,,I'm almost down to what I had originally lost. What a great day!!
  5. Diva..I haven't tried prilosec/or generic..I'll try anything. I'll check it out. Indymom,,is that a script or otc? I hope my dr can shed some light tomorrow at my appt. Thanks guys.
  6. If you feel it was too soon to go home, maybe you should go to the ER so they can care for you..more than likely re-admit you. Bless your heart!!! I hope you get better real soon.
  7. I have an appt tomorrow so I'll make sure to ask. I just thought if some of you here had experienced this then I could rest better tonight knowing it's not just me. My leak is supposedly healed up so I don't think that is the culprit..I'm not having any of that kind of pain. I sort of agree with KellyL, it might be acid. I was taking nexium, even before surgery,,,I have gerd. It's not working anymore so I'm trying previcid and so far, not working much better so I'm not sure. I think I'm going to try a day with all liquids again and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for all the replies.
  8. This might be tmi? I've tried everything but for the life of me, I can't get eating right. I've tried eating slow, tiny bites spaced out,,drinking and not drinking with my meal. I've even tried standing up and walking when eating. I can't digest food right. As soon as I'm done eating I get waves of nausea and then it feels like a bunch of belches will come up but it's liquid..if I let it out,,I'm gonna toss my cookies. This goes on for over an hour after I eat. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or what I could do differently?
  9. You look great! You look smaller than 204!!!
  10. I'm having the same problem, have tried different things but nothing has worked. I'm a month and day out so I hope it ends soon. Diarrhea is an issue too.
  11. I'm so sorry to hear this news! Athero runs in my family so I understand what you are going through. I don't have it (not yet anyway..) Getting all your weight off is a first step that you've already conquered..so you are ahead of the game. Keep positive like the person you are and push forward..you seem like the type of person that isn't easily defeated : ) You'll be in my prayers.
  12. Thanks for posting this, diva! I have a thyroid disease and my skin is sooo dry..I've been looking for something to help plus I have scars that I could use some help fading out..thank you so much!
  13. I found this website, thought I'd share. You click on a category and it takes you to a huge list of foods,,you click on any of them and it breaks down how many Protein grams are in a product. http://www.highproteinfoods.net/
  14. Thanks everyone! Happy,,thank you for the sacrifice..lol
  15. I think it's obsurd that someone in the medical field would place the thought in your mind..that you are going to have another addiction. It's probably not always the case..they could've at least told you something positive..like "you may want to find something else to occupy your time" or whatnot. I hope my "new addiction" will be excercise and being happy enjoying new quality time with my family.
  16. Protein shots are the way for me. I have found some that contain 42 grams protein and I can drink them in halves with crystal light. I don't even have to drink 2 full shots a day to get my protein in. Sometimes I drink chike strawberry shakes,,they are really good.
  17. Congratulations, Biggie! 37 in less than a month..that is amazing!!
  18. What a great dad you have! Congrats on your awakening and good luck on your journey..you'll do awesome with the good attitude you have.
  19. I have the same problem but unfortunately I'll repeat what you already know..you have to get the fluids in.lol Sometimes when I have something warm, it keeps me from getting that "gross" feeling..like I want to throw up. Other things count as fluids, you can have sf popsicles, jello..crystal light makes an awesome peach tea..if you like peach.
  20. I'm feeling pretty good, I got my picc line out today!! WOO HOO..now I can get back on the road to healing and getting this weight off. Thanks everyone for the prayers and all your concerns for me while I went through my leak ordeal.
  21. I was told that bypass was an option for me also. First option was to let it heal on its own, which is the choice I picked and so far so good. A leak can be caused by several reasons besides food. Don't beat yourself up over a nacho whatever you do..very doubtful that caused it. Keep us posted,,I'm right there with ya girl..I'm home but still on tpn and antibiotics (thought my line would come out today but nope)
  22. Thoughts and prayers going out to you.
  23. Yes, all the way up to my throat. I'm hoping with time, this will change. I have Gerd so it could be for that reason.
