  1. There's the Saturday weigh in that was started by sleeve4me..you just weigh in,,no winner..I had done this because I needed a challenge but I didn't do any better this week than any other week.lol I did see a couple on here who did fantastic and broke stalls so that was well worth it.
  2. Thanks to everyone who played! This was alot of fun and I'm so proud of everyone for doing such a great job this week! Unfortunately, I didn't think the whole thing through when I planned this so I won't be doing it anymore. If someone would like to take over,,I'm sure there's an easier way to organize it and keep track better.
  3. With a whopping 6 pound loss, raven8888 is our biggest loser winner!!! Congratulations,,great job!!!
  4. Good idea but the participants keep changing and at different times. I think I bit off more than I can chew. I probably won't do the challenge anymore unless someone who can keep up with it would like to take over.
  5. Ok,,for future reference, I need everyone to put their weight and how much they lost for the week. If you don't ,,I will have to weed through the forum and find your old weight compared to the new weight and do the math. Which isn't a big deal if it's just a few people but there are quite a few players.
  6. I lost 1.2 pounds this week,,not a big victory but I'll try to keep positive..a loss is a loss.
  7. Try to keep your eye on the prize and that will help you through the pre op diet. It's a tough journey but nothing good comes without patience and work. You can do it! Keep focused and remember your reason for doing it and that will help you pull through the tough spots. Good luck and keep us posted!
  8. It certainly sounds like things are moving in the right direction for you. Congratulations and looking forward to seeing you around the forums
  9. I only told family at first. After I had the surgery and lost 60 pounds,,I posted on facebook for everyone..not one negative comment. I think people compare wls to cosmetic surgery,,some easy way out to look good. It's so far from the truth, it's hard work,,I think it's been harder because it's forcing me to change and when you've been a certain way for 47 years,,it's not easy changing. I think people who are overweight that give negative opinions about wls aren't really jealous but maybe wish they had thought of it first and are too proud to admit it. Our loved ones and friends just worry when they hear surgery,,I know if my daughter came to me and said she had to have surgery (whatever type) I would be worried and want her to get a second opinion so sometimes negative comments are just some peoples way of saying,,I love and care about you,,I really hate to see you go through all of this..and because they think we can do it without surgery because they are skinny and have no clue what we are going through. Try to always keep this in mind when you tell someone and they don't respond the way you want them to. Even thank them for caring..I even told some that I would consider what they had to say and appreciate their opinion,,but I did what I wanted anyway.lol It hasn't been an easy road either,,it was difficult to tell those people I ended up with a leak then I felt like I had to convince them and myself that I did the right thing. It's like others have said, you will have to fight a good battle and show the proof to get the respect that wls deserves. Sorry I rambled on.
  10. Have you had your thyroid checked?
  11. Sweetie, there's a post dedicated to the slow losers. You are NOT alone,,believe me. It's common to have stalls around this time. You could be having one,,or have had some mini ones. If you are following the plan you were given it'll happen for you. Just try to gain more patience with yourself and give yourself credit for the small victory you have already accomplished. Try not to lash out at those who are trying to help you. I think that lady was really trying to be helpful..I know I don't like anyone telling me I'm on a pity party either but it's really easy to misconstrue what people really mean or feel on the internet. Gain confidence in the choice YOU made..you went in knowing about the surgery..that it's a tool,,not a magic fix. And honestly,,17 pounds is nothing to sneeze at. Any diet I was ever on in the past,,I never lost 17 pounds in 1 month good golly Good luck hon,,take it easy on yourself (and others..feel the love we are trying to give you..even if it's tough love)
  12. We posted at the same time..we made comments about our hair and both gave reference to the tortoise..lol
  13. Great post! If most of us average our weightloss by the month,,we will see how great our numbers are. I'm 5 1/2 months out and have lost a little over 60 pounds, that's more than 10 pounds a month! I don't think I could've lost this much without surgery. I did beat myself up for a while because I didn't think I was losing fast enough but many have told me how great I'm doing. Even though I am taking my biotin and getting in my protein, I am having problems with my hair but everything else is coming right along. It's not a race but if it was.. I'm a tortoise..lol
  14. Mr Worm,,we had the same surgeon
  15. Try not to overthink it,,everyone is different. It sounds like things are going perfectly for you. I don't know how long it takes to stabilize bp but you must be doing something right. It could be due to the strict diet you're on and the rest that your bp is under control. With a continued lifestyle change, no doubt it will be so much better. Congrats and welcome to the losers bench!
  16. Congrats,,that's fantastic..and you are soo cute!
  17. Try to stick with the plan best as you can..you can do this! Wow, a chef..I'd be planning menus for future meals Lucky...
  18. At just 1 week??? I was on Clear Liquids,,pureed came later during mushie week.
  19. Thank you so much, that will be very helpful information. I don't plan on doing anything for a while,,I have a long time till I reach my goal weight then the time it takes to see what my skin will do. I am excercising but not sure how well that will work for me..my age, a long time I stayed obese..as well as I yo yo'd my whole life but I am working very hard. After watching the highly invasive surgery online,,I just don't know if I could go through with it. You poor thing, you went through so much but you look so darn fantabulous,,I know all the pain would be worth it, I'm sure. Can you tell me what the requirements are? I have alot of health issues and I'm not sure if I would even be a good candidate..what do they ask and expect of a patient? Hope you don't mind me asking all these questions,,you are such a perfect source for info
  20. Congrats on meeting your goal! Nice boobie prize I hear they are comfy/cozy!
  21. To make it easier on me, please wait till Sunday to post your final weigh in. Congrats on the 2 pd loss, Peaceful! That's awesome
  22. I'm so glad I used the search feature and found this thread! I read every bit of it. Diva,,girl you are such an inspiration. I'm going to need so much work, you really give me hope. You look amazing and every time you posted, you explained everything so clearly..I felt like I was in the same room with ya.lol After all is said and done, if I look even close to as good as you do, I'd be thrilled!! I hope I can find a good PS in Ky..that makes me so nervous. Do you have any tips to hand out in how to find a good surgeon? Do you know much about full body lifts? I watched an online video of one and could hardly watch the screen,,it made me kinda sick. I've had several surgeries, I can tolerate pain pretty well but wow,,I just don't know. But I have so much cellulite, I don't know what other options would help me. Thanks so much for sharing your story..it was such good reading I couldn't stop for a second...maybe a book is in your future
  23. in this thread..you'll post your weight here again next sunday by midnight
  24. Please look through the thread and read all I've posted, you'll see the instructions. Thanks for playing!
