  1. In the beginning I had to use the protein shots. Some have 25-50g in them. Most of them taste nasty so I would add it to my crystal lite and drink it throughout the day.
  2. I eat most anything I want but in moderation and smaller amounts. I also excercise regularly..at least 5 times a week. I'm losing weight but slowly. I've changed alot of things that are bad for me to healthier options. Have any of you changed everything you eat to nothing but healthy foods or are you doing the same as me? I'm a slow loser so I'm trying to get my head right and do the right thing..even 6 months out I'm trying to figure out the right thing to do for me. Some say losing slow is the way to go but I'd like to pick up the losing pace so if anyone has suggestions on what I can change, it would be really helpful.
  3. I understand your not wanting to go to the hospital but you NEED to go asap. You're having the same symptoms I had with a leak. Please keep us posted, I'll keep you in my prayers.
  4. Get your bloodwork done and that will probably answer alot of your questions. I feel miserable when my Vit D is low and sometimes it takes large doses to level it out. I do agree with the carb theory though.
  5. I got mine on amazon..got it in 2 days..about $20 cheaper than the infomercial. They have them on ebay too.
  6. Awesome,,now what do we do?lol I guess I can tell you a little about the way I operate after being sleeved. I eat healthy 90% of the time, that 10% is the part of me that the surgery didn't fix. I excercise regularly (however, I have a bummed up leg right now so I'm limited) I'm doing mostly upper body strength for now and some treading Water in the pool. I still fall victim to occasionally over eating or eating too fast. That area is what I need to work on the most. I am a slow loser and I'm ok with that as long as I can keep my mood up. I am one of those that weigh daily. I have my own reasons for doing that. I journal what I weigh, eat and write about my daily activities as well as how I may be feeling about life in general. Goodness you've done really well! Congrats on so much success!
  7. I'm not sure how this works but going for it. I'm just 5 mths 3 wks out so I'm not quite an expert. I'm kinda looking for a mentor,,someone who has had the surgery and close to or met goal to help me with motivation and support.
  8. Does anyone have any before and after plastic surgery photos? I'm far from getting a surgery but thinking about it as well as doing plenty of research. I want a boob lift and a lower body lift..maybe. If I can't get my arms in better shape,,I'll be getting them fixed too.
  9. I have the workout dvd program..it's insane..for me anyway. I'm not quite ready for it.
  10. My hair is still falling out but I already have hair growing back,,if I pull my hair back,,lots of fuzz.lol It's supposed to take a couple weeks for me to notice anything with the biosil. I'm not expecting it to magically grow hair but to help my hair to be healthy,,maybe stop it from falling out so much. I have a double whammy because I have a bad thyroid If you're wearing your ponytail high, try lowering it to your neck to take some of the stress off of it.
  11. Here's another article I found randomly online from the Los Angeles Times, you don't have to read it but I wanted to share,,I found it interesting http://journalstar.com/lifestyles/health-med-fit/article_74afaec1-aa07-573a-b043-05c983f23f35.html
  12. Benjammin,,congratulations! It's great that works for you. It was in the "Reader's Digest". My doctor said daily weigh in is fine as long as I'm losing and it works for me. That doesn't make me a control freak,,no need to name call. I've spent 47 years yo-yoing and I would go long periods of time without weighing myself,,when I finally buckled down and did it,,I had gained ALOT. Staying on top of it daily is a reminder for me and I log it as well as what I eat each day. I think it's up to the individual. I would agree that more than once a day is more than enough.
  13. I love mederma scar treatment. My scars have lightened so much, I'm really pleased how it is working. They make mederma stretch marks therapy but I've never used it.
  14. I admit it, I weigh everyday..just once first thing in the morning. I go pee then weigh in my bra and panties. If I'm gaining I know I need to work harder. I do it because I read a health article that said it's wise to weigh everyday so you can stay on track. It works for me and is a part of my daily routine and journal log. The only thing I would suggest is don't become obsessed with the scale like weighing after every meal,,morning, noon and night. I do hate when the scale tips upward but that makes me even more determined to keep it downward.
  15. I get this feeling if I eat too much or too fast. I did my own way of measuring my stomach by eating a 6 oz container of yogurt to see exactly how much I could get down and be comfortably full. I weighed the amount left over and had an ounce left so I knew my tummy would hold 5 ounces. I have to be careful with things that are dense or that swell,,like carbs and meat because even though they are light in weight, they have volume. As long as I follow the 5 oz rule, I don't get the stuck feeling. It took me a while to get used to solids again,,just a suggestion but ease into it with softer foods..scrambled eggs, cottage cheese,, fish,,chicken (not if it's dry,,yikes!), soups..you get the idea. Make sure you chew, chew, chew,,then chew some more.lol
  16. Intense prayer and deep thoughts going out to you.
  17. I've been losing since the beginning of my 3rd month (almost 6 mths out). I take biotin and I don't know if it's going to help or not but I heard good reviews about biosil so I ordered some. It doesn't make new hair but helps preserve what you have and makes it healthier. I also had 6 inches cut off my hair, the weight was pulling it down and I was forced to wear it up alot during the heat..which isn't good on your hair. I may be losing hair but I'm losing weight,,the hair will come back,,the pounds won't
  18. You really want to get that liver shrunk..you can do it! They put you on a diet like that for a reason and think how disappointed you will be in yourself if you cheated....just sayin..
  19. What flavors,,what are the nutrition values? I'm looking for a good protein bar,,they are hard to find. I can't stand that mediciney taste..thick and dry and hard to swallow.
  20. That's scary! So glad you caught it..hope you are feeling better soon. A big congrats on your weightloss,,that's awesome!
  21. The anxiety alone put me in a whirl wind of moods. My goodness, you don't have much time left till surgery! Use this time to prepare,,make it part of the process so you can get motivated. Before you know it the big day will be here! Good luck,,I hope things look up for you soon
  22. I think I have adult ADD because I have a hard time staying on focus when I'm eating or I've just developed a serious habit of eating too quickly over so many years. I struggled with this too. What I have done that is helping tremendously is writing. I have a journal I keep by my side and when I'm eating, I'll take a bite or 2,,write a little,,etc. It's really helped. I log events throughout the day like what I weighed, how I'm feeling, excercise, what I'm thinking,,house chores,,just whatever and it has slowed me down..finally!
  23. I took those pre op,,I did not know that..thanks for that tip, I'll have to try it!
  24. It was a challenge posted a week ago. It's over and raven8888 lost 6 pounds,,I think that's pretty terrific, myself.
