  1. Like you, I had bad gas. not in the shoulder but behind the ribs. After calling the Doc's office a few times, I took some advice and walked the neighborhood twice daily and ate (not chewed) gas-X, by day 5 I started accepting my decision to have it done. So the pain will go away
  2. Hello, checking in for the week. Starting weight was 206 so I'm down 2 lbs this week. I hope to have another two lbs down by next week. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement.
  3. Has anyone tried safslim or raspberry ketones? If so, is it working for you?

  5. @ starrbrite, bleeding? you mean from throwing up or what?.
  6. My port is also in the bend of my waist and to the left of my belly button. It is hard to exercise at times. I'm very short waisted. I want to do zumba but afraid to pay money for something I wouldn't be able to do. I do stay sore under the rib area, could it be that I need to have the port moved? I wonder.
  7. I heard that there was another form of HCG that is much cheaper in the clinics that is given once a week. This type of HCG is not like the 500 cal hcg diet. It may be the same stuff (I don't know) but you do NOT have to be on a starvation diet I believe that being banded for 2 1/2 yrs and still need to lose 25-30 lbs in order to reach goal and haven't lost any weight in a year is worth giving this milder version a try. At least for 30 days. Some of us struggle a little more than others. But if you're newly banded, you may do well w/o trying the hcg.
  8. I was banded 8-4-09 apprx 2 1/2 yrs. I've only lost roughly 50 lbs. And yes, I know I could have lost more had I been able to just stick with program. but when you're always hungry and know you can eat slider foods to satisfy you thats what you do. So if you are one of those people that are never hungry, it's easy to talk against it. After reading these posts, I think I'll give it a try. I was just checking into it a couple of days ago, so I'm glad the question was asked. My question is, do you have to do all 3 rounds? Anyway I'll try it and pray that the hormones will help and not hurt. THANKS!
  9. @ mimilou, yes I am banded now. As a matter of fact, it's been 2 1/2 yrs and I'm very disappointed. but mostly with myself. only lost 50lbs but I swear to do better...any words of encouragement anyone? My new plan now is to go to the gym early before work. That means getting there at 6:00am.
  10. I went to their seminar and thought about it, but decided to stay here in greenville. I'm trying to get some bandsters together but I believe that people dont want others to know and thats why I have no response. I feel the same in a way, but i need some near by friends for support who have been through it too.
  11. That's my concern too. I was denied by B/C, but ready to appeal this week. I cant get the full TT due to an old gall bladder scar so I hope it wont look too weird. I already have a large upper belly. I would hate to look 9 months all year every year.
  12. will do...my email address is bigmama3974@yahoo.com
  13. I wish I knew. I need one too. But I believe it's for this group for LBT. But that's good too!
  14. Anyone banded by Dr. Bour or Dr. Rowitz? If so, Lets get together and form a lapband club or group. I think we could help each other. We could try to meet at least once a month, share stories, dine out(healthely) discuss whether or not we had any weight loss. If so, you could help us. If not, We could help you. We'll never know if we dont try it. Of course everyone's ideas would help. Please post back if you think this is a good idea. Lets try to keep one another motivated. I really need the help and don't want to give up.
  15. After a long plateau, what sort of plan or diet did you do to get you back on the losing track. Anyone ever try Medifast, WW, or any other program to start losing again?
  16. I want to get back on track and for some reason I feel I need to jump start it by doing some type of protein plan for maybe 3-4 weeks. Have anyone started over to continue to reach your goal? If so, what did you do or eat.
  17. It sounds as though most of you enjoy zumba. I'm having a time with weight loss. 2 yrs out and only lost 50 lbs. I suppose I'm not trying hard enough. I just started to exercise really last week hoping it will get me back on the right track. Now I will be searching for a zumba class. I used to be sore a lot around the port area and thought that It would be too painful. I'm not having soreness now so this is inspiring and I'm giving it a shot. Wish me luck!
  18. you sound sooo uplifted that I feel more uplifted now,THANKS! I have been banded 2 yrs and have had the same effects from eggs. So yes, for most of us eggs do seem to be a little hard to handle on some days but not all. Good Luck.
  19. strange, I was told by Primary Dr that I had a hernia and put me on prilosac. lap band Dr said that he didnt see a hernia during my prcedure.
  20. Faye-Faye, what other symptoms did u have before feeling faint?
  21. @jreal, when u get dehydrated, do u also get lightheaded and nauseated? These R the symptoms Iv'e had lately along with diarrhea.
  22. How long did you have the band before removal?
  23. It's a good feeling. I had to do the same
  24. ebonymc commented on Determine-Gem's blog entry in mscarla123's Blog
My goal was to lose 75-80 lbs. After losing 40 lbs I had an inlaw and a co-worker to hate. the inlaw said "you've lost weight, you're not sick are you?. The co-worker said "How much more do you want to lose? you cant afford to lose any more from behind.
