Unbelievable walk: I turned around so I could walk longer
Congrats, and OH I get it! I never go on any work out without my music!!!!!! I too went from never wanting to ever work out to craving it. By the end of my walk I so revved up I cut through a field with hill on each side and I am going up and down them on a zig zag to to add to walk and the field provides me a little privacy so I do dance a bit, like no one is watching!

Protein packed pureed lentil soup
I was going to say, even a whole cup of soup at 8 months is pushing it! Now I wonder about adding some ground turkey to this to push the protien over the edge????
-
what do you use to make protein shakes!
I use pre mixed shakes for the most part. Premier protien shakes from Costco. When did make them at home I used the Bullet. very easy to clean compared to a blender and takes up much less space and I can drink from the same cup I mix in! Crushes ice and frozen fruit with ease!

I have definition for the first time in 47 years!
OH YEAH,, from the get go of post op I kept an 8 pound weight at work and in the down time ( I do 911 so it is closed off office) I would do various arm lifts I looked up on the internet, I also do bike riding and while riding I pump my arms up and down and I do yoga and total body conditioning. I attribute my real results to yoga and and the lifts at work.

Thanks all! It still amazes me day to day

Did not realize bowel prep would be so rough..
I had to drink a whole bottle of Magnesium citrate or something like that. I guess it is normally for constipation and you drink like 2 oz, NORMALLY. Well it took forever to kick in and then it really was not that bad. I have avoided getting a colonoscopy because I heard how horrid the prep is.

Overwhelmed and want to cry......
First off((((((((((((( virtual huG))))))))))))))) Second thing for you, accept this is normal and move on. You are tired and all the aches and pains and changes are wearing on you. This too shall pass, Breath in , Breath out, Move on. Keep your mind off of it, burp and pass gas when you can. This will get better!

Migraines Non Stop will VSG cure this?
My Migraines that I used to end up in the ER over about every 6 months when the meds did not work and imitrex helped with in between those visits helped with have vastly improved! I could never pin down in my diet where I was going wrong, but obliviously my limited diet post off paid off! The residual migraines post op are hormone related and they are leveling off!

Pre op and 8 months post op pics
Amanda, Anything exercise is all new to me. I went an rented a bike early spring just to see, and it was love at first ride, went back to the bike shop and treated myself with new, very expensive bike! No shopping around I deserved it! I bought the bike in March and in June I rode my first Tour de cure 38 mile bike athon! Would I consider myself proficient? Not by any means compared to the serious lean machines that pass me. But from where I started, a damn site better! It is very freeing and exhilarating! I can not not run, I have a knee with no ACL and no cartilage, so girl if you can run and swim, biking is NOTHING! Thank you to the rest of you for your kind words!

What is the one significant thing in your life that you can do now...
Walking for 2 hours and adding hills to it, going up and down the same one a few times, just for the excerise. My PROUDEST feat so far, Riding in my first bikethon,, completed 38 miles! Super proud of that! Biking almost daily 20 miles. Joining the Y and looking for HARDER classes instead of the easiest. Buying a tshirt at the concert, having to a get a medium instead of praying the 2x would fit! Gettting fashion types from daughter and buying clothes in the same store she does:) Needing less sleep. Most importantly: putting on a swim suit and going to a pool, or Water resort with my Grand Babies! I acutally tucker them out now!

Please Advise about odor
I noticed as I lost weight I had wild shifting hormones! When I have a hormonal upset going on my deoderant quits working. I have to start washing with antibacterial soap, then before my I apply deoderant I apply rubbing alcohol to my underarms and let it dry. Then I apply clinical strenght deoderant. It seems these boughts lasted about 2 weeks and settled down. Now that most of my weight is gone my hormones are settling into a regular routine.

WARNING: This post is going to be whiny.
water, water, water. body shock! I know it sucks to see those numbers! however your body is not ridding itself of water or toxin( anesthesia, pain meds, anti nausea, you got it all in the hospital) You will be happy in the days to come!

Denied!
do you have pain anywhere, knees, back? Blood pressure elevated? High cholestorol. Surely the doc can find something and resubmit:)

How VSG changed your tastes!
I hear ya! There very thought of the golden arches makes me start gagging!

1 day post op... is this normal?
completely normal! Does get quieter and less frequent over time! It is just your new tummy saying HI!
-
gurgleing stomach
at 8 months my sleeve still talks to me all time. I asked the doc about it and he said it is a forever thing. Good news it it talks less. and softer over time. Think of it a audible indicator of your new tiny tummy that will serve you well!

Tired!
I have never liked water before or after surgery. It just does not go down well period. My current love is Diet Raspberry Snapple ice tea and Lipton diet White tea Raspberry. I look at this way, it has water in it and it has antioxidants!
