So, any "post partum" for those who've reached goal?
Well tonight I heard from my family "eat a sandwich will ya" I promptly retorted at 153 pounds I am hardly starving myself! Honestly I still think about I wanted to get to145 pounds, I think why could I not get there yet? should I just not eat? Should I work out more, would a tummy tuck take are of that last 8m pounds????? I am still beating myself up.

hair pieces for curly hair?
i got mine at Avon, but I blow dry and use a straight iron. However they had lots of curly options too! The other more expensive option is a wig store.

Anyone else have an abnormal EKG result?
Yes! I had a low voltage result. Turned out to be a wire placement issue or their machine. A lot of stress and and extra cardiologist visit for nothing.

Crock pot Hearty Stew
So is this a mexican type dish? Or Chili type with the beans? I am tempted my the ingredients but pasta and potatoes are out of question, especially with the beans on the low carb diet. Which would you leave out taste wise the beans or the potatoes?

I KNOW I'm not supposed to compare my weightloss to others buuuuut.....
Sams does not carry the shakes. Also costco has great deals on Vitamins and mega red krill oil! and they have a coupon book each month that you get additional discounts on things. Vitamins and sometimes the shake are in there.

Holy Carbs Bat Man!
So the store around the corner had Okios and the new Activia Greek yogurt on sale for 49 cents ( yes you read that right) so I pick up 7 of the Okios and 3 of the Activia. I was in a hurry and did not check the lable until latter at home and the Activia blueberry has 34, yes 34 carbs in one serving! Unreal! What are they thinking? Also the protien is 2 grams less than Okios. Fair warning!

I have read your other post about milk based whey protien not sitting well, I have two thoughts here. One is have you tried lactaid? Perhaps taking it in advance will help if it is a milk issue. The other is perhaps adding some fresh frozen berries in a blender to your shakes and or maybe a banana will make them more appealing and palatable? Also,, I tried a lot of mix your own whey protien products, I found them well yuck and gritty. Then I tried pre made Premier Protein shakes from costco ( you can also buy them on Amazon) and I found them to be just like drinking chocolate milk! The are actually good! Sometimes they can be a little thick and then I put them in the bullet blender with a little Water and some frozen berries and whoa,,, what a treat! I also found pre made pure protein Chocolate and banana flavors a close second to the premier shakes. Another idea is adding some

Water pill warning!
I WAS taking here and there triamterene and hydrochlorothiazide 37.5, but no Matter What, DON'T take it if you have a suspicion that something is not right right, I too had muscle cramp pre admission in my feet at night. there are other non potassium draining diuretics out there!

Wierd NSV's
Just had a scare with my heart 9 moths post up, but spent about 20 hours in hospital either way. Weird NSV's,, not feeling guilty as they pushed me down the halls in the stretchers. Not having to wear the "bigger, different gown" No need for the bigger BP cuff. Now for the really weird one, I wear a hair piece in the front because at 7 months I lost my bangs. Well I have SUPER UBER SELF CONSCIOUS about this! So I have to a head cat scan and suddenly I remember I have it on and I have to stop the the scan to I can remove it, well when it was done suddenly the tech and a "transporter" are telling me it is done and I am saying don't look, I have to put this back on. On the way back to the ER the Transporter, and Asian male ( I think) stops my gurney and in empty hall and says the following to me. " Don't be worried about your outside when you are such a beautiful person on in side it shine all around you" I was move to tears and told him my story and told him I had been feeling so guilty about feeling so self conscious about my hair when there are woman with cancer who loose all theirs. Then he says to me " My dear that is what makes you a beautiful person". I made sure to tell my nurse what a nice man he was, but honestly I am going to write a letter to the hospital with the times and date and make sure he and some very other nice people at the hospital are recongnized, as it was a new hospital for me and very very long time since I felt so good about visiting a hospital. They have won my business.

surgery 08/15 and pain
My Doc told me that is normal for that site to be the most painful for longest as it had the deepest "Stitches" so a stitch in the side is very fitting here I also had unexplained dull pain under the back left shoulder blade for about 8 weeks. I think it was either pressure from swelling or some type of nerve pain. I never had any complications to speak of so the pain was listed as unexplained.

I Just Wanna POOP!
OHHH, I know your pain! I ended up using enemas a few times after talking to a nurse friend and the discussion of impaction and all the explanation of what would happen in the er with that! So I go myself some mineral oil enemas to relieve the immediate problem and then went on Mira lax a half doses regular for some time. there is a reason the word Miracle is implied. The good news is , a few months out most of that is resolved,,, it seams the whey protien shakes cause most of my stoppage problems.

i failed the pre op diet!!!
You did not fail, i just hope you choose low fat low carb:) At 7 days i was so constipated I ate a turkey chef salad praying for relief. At day 5 pre op, I had chicken fajitas (no shells, just chicken and peppers and onions) , then as the reality of surgery got near I did not stray. It is both a prep mentally for what your new life is like shortly after surgery and to shrink your liver for surgery. If you get back on the wagon you will be fine! Stick around here if you need help in times of weakness, YOU CAN AND WILL do this!

Bittersweet Victory
and she told me that it is a stupidity to chase after food and to do whatever I need to do so that I don't have to go through what she has. My Dear, the peace you seek are in her very words............................................ this comes from someone who 2 years later can cry at the the very thought or the typing of these words because she misses her Father so. Now for how his words impacted me? He said to me don't stand at my grave and cry I will not be there. I have not been to his grave site since burial. His words also gave me relief from standing at my daughters graveside for hours. They are not there. They are with their loved ones. They are in heaven. They are in the gentle breeze, the blooming flower and the ocean wave. My Grand daughter gave me peace when at 3 I asked her all 1800 mile away from home who she was talking to under by that tree over there and she told the Grandpa with the glasses Honey your Mom was with you before, during and now after surgery. She knew the end was near and released you from you mourning. Now I know it is not that easy but it is what she meant to you,, go, take care of you, don't repeat my life. YES she loved you that much.

I need an excuse but not a lie
For myself the honest approach works best, but if you must really I would just pass saying you are not feeling well, make it a viral thing, because trust me it will be a bit before you up to par pre op pace.

i need some info..
Go slow for sure! Don't rush things. Count day one as the day you got out and then REALLY listen to your body when you try things.

Water pill warning!
I know a lot of you ladies like me, pre surgery are on Water pills for blood pressure and swelling. Well then you have 90 day supplies sitting around and suddenly post surgery your body decides to hold some water weight and you reach for the water pill to make the scale look better the next day right?? Well let me tell yeah,, take a water pill or two and then come down with a stomach bug and you end up in the hospital with low potassium! I just spent the night then some getting a potassium infusion and a bunch of heart tests including a stress test and a lot worry and stress because low potassium not only can you cause you to pass out upon standing, it gives you a rapid irregular heart rate! Do NOT take the water pills unless the doctor tells you to! No amount of worries and time spent in the hospital is worth it to see the scale come back down in a hurry!
