crossposting.. VITAMINS/PROTEIN REGIMINE?
There are a few different ones out there. I bought from Celebrate. My link vitacost.com also has some chewable Vitamins and Iron, however they are not specified bariatric so you will have to compare nutrients. I also use Premiere Protein drinks from costco, or Amazon. Amazon is more expensive. I have one for Breakfast each day and that gives me 30 grams of protein right off the bat! They taste like choc milk.

New Whey Liquid Protein
I had tried the New Whey when my daughter had RNY before my surgery. That strong taste made both of us want to puke! I will stick with Premiere protein shakes. Takes like a chocolate treat at has 30 grams of protein.

Is carbonated flavored water allowed on pre-op liquid diets?
As long as it is zero calorie! Post op you will not be able to do carbonation.

Drinking Water
My nut told me it is common after the sleeve to have issues with plain water.

Serious doubts after visit with surgeon (long)
I second all who have told you to get another opinion,, as a matter of fact I would say RUN don't walk to another doctor! This is just one bump in the road to a better life! Anything worth doing in life always has a few obstacles to overcome. I thought I would never get done with the the insurance companies requests. Most everyone getting sleeved in the states completes the following with out fail: Psych eval, sleep study, nut counseling, 6 months diet, lung doctor visit, pre testing, ultrasound of abdomen. It is all meant for your own good and success with the sleeve. You wouldn't want to go through this and end up with a major complication that could have been prevented. Doctors are mearly people who give opinions based on their experience.

Really worried; need advice
Mushies and liquids and yes even crackers will go down easy and provide little resistance. Wait till you have something like lunch meat or chicken, I warn you to go slow and chew and chew and chew, swallow and let a couple minutes go by before starting the next bite. With real food, if you go to fast you miss the full signal (it is very different than before) and if you pass it up with that one bite to many you will be in a world of hurt! Then you will probably have to vomit. After a while you will get why they call soft foods, puddings, creams ect slider foods. Real food fills you after about 3 bites and you really need to tune into your signals not to over do it and hurt yourself.

Day 8 and I've hit bottom......help!!
Janet I am sorry you having a bad day. I bet you are just plain exhausted and that is not helping your emotions. It will get better, did you try something warm? I found that comforting in the liquid phase. Are you on full liquids? If so I found sugar free chocolate pudding a delicacy! It was like having a sinful treat without the calories! I promise you this will to shall pass. Especially when you start seeing the pounds come off, you will really LOVE your sleeve. Now when you have a what did I do to myself moment I would suggest sitting down and making a list of all the things you look forward to doing/having when you are thinner. Tape that list to the mirror and have a talk with yourself, You did this to get that! No pain, no loss of bad habits, excess weight, constant food thoughts. YOU ARE IN CONTROL NOW!

OUCH - 4 weeks pre-op diet
Every surgeon is different. Strange, I was told to stay low on carbs because that is what shrinks the liver.

OUCH - 4 weeks pre-op diet
Just one question? Aren't most slimfast products high on carbs? My Carbs on pre op diet were less than 15 a day to ptomote liver shrinkage. There are cheaper high protien drinks with low carbs out there like Max at the vitamin shoppe. I know they wanted me to use Bariatric Advantage drinks costing a hundred dollars for 2 weeks so I toolk the nutritional info go the vit shoppe and found Max to be the same. I used that and Premier protien shakes formy two week All liquid diet.

Post Op?
A variety of the low cal Gatorade. Protein shakes. Your computer and maybe some movies. Comfy clothes for the tummy. Some herbal teas for soothing the tummy. If you have stairs you might want to keep some clothes down stairs for the fist couple days. Mouth wash!!!!! You mouth tastes yucky as you go into ketosis.

Question on amount of liquid consumed
I am six weeks out and I really don't think about how much anymore. I know I can't get in near as much as I used to. I can take 2 swallows of liquid no problem. As far as food, I get in about 4 bites of chicken and it is all over.

Beginning week 3
I too had a really slow start, thought I was going nuts! Then all of the sudden off it came, 2 pound one day, 3 the next, same for a day or two then 2 come off. No rhyme or reason.

75 pounds gone and my husband says this to me........??
Well Steve I happen to think that fact that I have been working hard for a year now and this is the very first thing he say EVER, and how MY weight loss makes him look, I do believe that is mean. I see no compliment what so ever in it.

75 pounds gone and my husband says this to me........??
I have been losing since Jan of last year, 50 lbs before surgery and 25 since and tonight my husband says to me : " You are making me look big" I was like excuse me? I am making YOU look big???? No Sir I told him, YOU are making YOU look big by being big! and then I shut up. Then I got pissed! I was said in all this time of losing weight that was the closest thing you have ever said to a compliment and he responds to me with "I have never judged you for your size and I just don't notice your size now." I replied "You had better get to noticing before some other man does!
